Hypospadias is the most common congenital anomaly of the penis. The problem usually develops sporadically and w.thout an obvious underlying cause. The ectopically positioned urethral meatus lies proximal to the normal site and on the ventral aspect of the penis, and in severe cases opens onto the scrotum or perineum. The foresk.n on the ventral surface is deficient, w.ile that on the dorsal surface is abundant, giving the appearance of a dorsal hood. Chordee is more common in severe cases. Cryptorchidism and inguinal hernia are the most common associated anomalies. The frequency of associated anomalies increases w.th the severity of hypospadias. For isolated anterior or middle hypospadias, laboratory studies are not usually necessary. Screening for urinary tract anomalies should be considered in patients w.th posterior hypospadias and in those w.th an anomaly of at least one additional organ system. The ideal age for surgical repair in a healthy child is betw.en 6 and 12 months of age. Most cases can be repaired in a single operation and on an outpatient basis. Even patients w.th a less than perfect surgical result are usually able to enjoy a satisfactory sexual life.

Iron-based nanostructures represent an emerging class of catalysts w.th high electroactivity for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in energy storage and conversion ***,current practical applications have been limited by insufficient durability in both alk.line and acidic *** particular,limited attention has been paid to stabilizing iron-based catalysts by introducing additional metal by the alloying ***,w. report bimetallic Fe_(2)Mo nanoparticles on N-doped carbon(Fe_(2)Mo/NC)as an efficient and ultra-stable ORR electrocatalyst for the first *** Fe_(2)Mo/NC catalyst show. high selectivity for a four-electron pathw.y of ORR and remark.ble electrocatalytic activity w.th high k.netics current density and half-w.ve potential as w.ll as low.Tafel slope in both acidic and alk.line *** demonstrates excellent long-term durability w.th no activity loss even after 10,000 potential *** functional theory(DFT)calculations have confirmed the modulated electronic structure of formed Fe_(2)Mo,w.ich supports the electron-rich structure for the ORR ***,the mutual protection betw.en Fe and Mo sites guarantees efficient electron transfer and long-term stability,especially under the alk.line *** w.rk.has supplied an effective strategy to solve the dilemma betw.en high electroactivity and long-term durability for the Fe-based electrocatalysts,w.ich opens a new.direction of developing novel electrocatalyst systems for future research.

The present study specifically investigates vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) catalytic oxidation for toluene degradation over CeO_(2) *** effects of ultraviolet photocatalytic oxidation (UV-PCO) and ozone catalytic oxidation (OZCO) w.re manifested in the results of toluene removal and COx generation,w.ile the combination of UV-PCO andOZCO (UV-OZCO) did not lead to improvement of *** the processes contribute to ozone decomposition,but no obvious synergetic effects of the different processes can be *** analysis results indicated that more toluene w.s oxidized into by-products,such as benzyl alcohol and benzaldehyde,by UV-OZCO rather than forming *** hydroxyl radical (·OH) and superoxide radical (·O_(2)^(-)) w.re found in all the processes of the VUV-PCO-OZCO system(combination of VUV photolysis,UV-PCO,OZCO and UV-OZCO processes).In the UV-OZCO process,the formation of hydroxyl radical w.s promoted,w.ile that of superoxide radical w.s impeded,resulting in low.r mineralization level of *** mechanistic study of toluene degradation over CeO_(2) nanorods in the VUV-PCO-OZCO system revealed that w.th the formation of·O_(2)^(-)and·OH,toluene is first oxidized to intermediates,follow.d by further ring–opening reaction and,finally,degradation into CO_(2) and H_(2)***_(2) nanorods function as both ozonation catalyst and photocatalyst,and the redox pair of Ce^(3+)and Ce^(4+)are interconvertible and can k.ep a balance.

Colloidal solution combustion synthesis(CSCS)is a simple and easy method for mass-production of crystalline nanomaterials w.th tunable pore *** this w.rk.mesoporous Mn/CeO_(2) catalysts w.re fabricated via CSCS method coupled w.th a dip-coating process and used for photocatalytic oxidation(PCO)of *** vacuum ultraviolet(VUV)irradiation,a high toluene removal efficiency of about 92%w.s achieved w.th a toluene reaction rate of about 118μmol/g/h in a continuous flow.reactor.A possible degradation pathw.y w.s proposed based on the analysis of intermediates by Fourier transform infrared photoluminescence spectra(FTIR)and *** temperature-programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface areas,photoluminescence spectra(PL)spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)w.re carried out to analyze physical and chemical properties of the *** w.th Mn_(x)Ce_(1-x)O_(2) catalysts synthesized by one step CSCS method,Mn/CeO_(2) has a higher photocatalytic activity,w.ich is attributed to the presence of higher contents of Ce^(3+),Mn^(2+)and Mn^(3+)*** presence of higher contents of these species plays a k.y role in the activity enhancement of toluene oxidation and ozone *** method is facile,efficient and scalable,and it may become a promising industrial application technology for catalyst synthesis in the near future.
