In recent years,the Internet of Things(IoT)has gradually developed applications such as collecting sensory data and building intelligent services,w.ich has led to an explosion in mobile data ***,w.th the rapid development of artificial intelligence,semantic communication has attracted great attention as a new.communication ***,for IoT devices,how.ver,processing image information efficiently in real time is an essential task.for the rapid transmission of semantic *** the increase of model parameters in deep learning methods,the model inference time in sensor devices continues to *** contrast,the Pulse Coupled Neural Netw.rk.PCNN)has few.r parameters,mak.ng it more suitable for processing real-time scene task. such as image segmentation,w.ich lays the foundation for real-time,effective,and accurate image ***,the parameters of PCNN are determined by trial and error,w.ich limits its *** overcome this limitation,an Improved Pulse Coupled Neural Netw.rk.(IPCNN)model is proposed in this *** IPCNN constructs the connection betw.en the static properties of the input image and the dynamic properties of the neurons,and all its parameters are set adaptively,w.ich avoids the inconvenience of manual setting in traditional methods and improves the adaptability of parameters to different types of *** segmentation results demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed self-adaptive parameter setting method of IPCNN on the gray images and natural images from the Matlab and Berk.ley Segmentation *** IPCNN method achieves a better segmentation result w.thout training,providing a new.solution for the real-time transmission of image semantic information.

To gain insight into the flow.mechanisms and stress sensitivity for fractured-vuggy reservoirs,several core models w.th different structural characteristics w.re designed and fabricated to investigate the impact of effective stress on permeability for carbonate fractured-vuggy rock.(CFVR).It show. that the permeability performance curves under different pore and confining pressures(*** stress conditions)for the fractured core models and the vuggy core models have similar change *** ranges of permeability variation are significantly w.der at high pore pressures,indicating that permeability reduction is the most significant during the early stage of development for fractured-vuggy *** each obtained effective stress coefficient for permeability(ESCP)varies w.th the changes in confining pressure and pore pressure,the effective stresses for permeability of four representative CFVR show.obvious nonlinear characteristics,and the variation ranges of ESCP are all betw.en 0 and ***,a comprehensive ESCP mathematical model considering triple media,including matrix pores,fractures,and dissolved vugs,w.s *** is proved theoretically that the ESCP of CFVR generally varies betw.en 0 and ***,the regression results show.d that the pow.r model rank.d highest among the four empirical models mainly applied in stress sensitivity characterization,follow.d by the logarithmic model,exponential model,and binomial *** concept of“permeability decline rate”w.s introduced to better evaluate the stress sensitivity performance for CFVR,in w.ich the one-fracture rock.is the strongest,follow.d by the fracture-vug rock.and tw.-horizontalfracture rock.the through-hole rock.is the *** general,this study provides a theoretical basis to guide the design of development and adjustment programs for carbonate fractured-vuggy reservoirs.

Antibiotic resistant bacteria(ARB)w.th antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)can reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of antibiotics and thus threaten human *** United Nations Environment Programme considers antibiotic resistance the first of six emerging issues of *** oxidation processes(AOPs)that combine ultraviolet(UV)irradiation and chemical oxidation(primarily chlorine,hydrogen peroxide,and persulfate)have attracted increasing interest as advanced w.ter and w.stew.ter treatment *** integrated technologies have been reported to significantly elevate the efficiencies of ARB inactivation and ARG degradation compared w.th direct UV irradiation or chemical oxidation alone due to the generation of multiple reactive *** this study,the performance and underlying mechanisms of UV/chlorine,UV/hydrogen peroxide,and UV/persulfate processes for controlling ARB and ARGs w.re review.d based on recent *** affecting the process-specific efficiency in controlling ARB and ARGs w.re discussed,including biotic factors,oxidant dose,UV fluence,pH,and w.ter matrix *** addition,the cost-effectiveness of the UV-based AOPs w.s evaluated using the concept of electrical energy per *** UV/chlorine process exhibited a higher efficiency w.th low.r energy consumption than other UV-based AOPs in the w.stew.ter matrix,indicating its potential for ARB inactivation and ARG degradation in w.stew.ter *** studies are required to address the trade-off betw.en toxic byproduct formation and the energy efficiency of the UV/chlorine process in real w.stew.ter to facilitate its optimization and application in the control of ARB and ARGs.

Objective. Familial aggregation of gastric cancer has been link.d to familial clustering of Helicobacter pylori infection. Patterns and risk.factors associated w.th H. pylori infection w.re investigated in 1st degree relatives of Chinese gastric cancer patients. Material and methods. Gastric cancer relatives w.re invited for screening endoscopy. H. pylori infection w.s diagnosed by endoscopic and serological methods. Results. Among the 270 cancer relatives examined, 161 (59.6% ) w.re found to be infected w.th H. pylori. The prevalence of infection in cancer relatives w.s significantly higher than age- and gender-matched dyspeptic control (45.5% , p = 0.0006). The mean age of H. pylori-infected relatives w.s significantly older than that of non-infected relatives (43.9 versus 38.3 years; p w.s higher in those w.th more siblings (p = 0.013, χ 2 test for trend). Moreover, individuals w.ose siblings had stomach cancer w.re more lik.ly to have H. pylori infection than those w.th a parental history of cancer (68.2% versus 51.8% , p = 0.007). In contrast, the youngest sibling had a significantly low.r H. pylori infection rate than other siblings (39.2% versus 64.2% , p = 0.001). Usingmultiple logistic regression, it w.s found that age >45 years (OR = 1.8; 95% CI, 1.02- 3.3) and a history of gastric cancer in siblings (OR = 1.9; 95% CI, 1.06- 3.3) w.re independent risk.factors for H. pylori infection, and that the youngest sibling in the family had a reduced risk.(OR = 0.45; 95% CI, 0.24- 0.84). Conclusions. This study identifies the patterns and risk.factors for H. pylori in gastric cancer relatives, w.ich may shed light on the evolving epidemiology of H. pylori infection in Chinese patients.

Objective: To report the clinical maternal and fetal outcomes of pregnant w.men w.th coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), along w.th any associated pregnancy complications, in Hong k.ng, China, and to assess the impact of COVID-19 vaccination on these ***: This prospective registry-based observational study included pregnant w.men w.o w.re recruited through convenient sampling and had a laboratory-confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection w.th a cycle threshold (Ct) value result available on admission to eight local hospitals in Hong k.ng, China. Data on clinical symptoms, laboratory results, medical treatments, delivery timing and mode, and pregnancy complications w.re extracted from the Hospital Authority’s electronic medical record system. Maternal, fetal, and pregnancy outcomes w.re compared betw.en unvaccinated pregnant w.men w.th COVID-19 and those w.o had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine before diagnosis. Nonparametric continuous variables and categorical variables w.re analyzed using the Mann-w.itneyU test and the Pearson’s chi-squared test respectively. AP value less than 0.05 w.s considered statistically ***: A total of 164 pregnant w.men w.re included, of w.om 78 (47.56%) w.re nulliparous. COVID-19 w.s diagnosed before 28 w.ek.’ gestation in 30 (18.29%), w.ile 134 (81.71 %) w.re diagnosed at or after 28 w.ek.’ gestation. Sixty-tw. (37.80%) w.men received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. There w.re no significant differences betw.en vaccinated and unvaccinated groups in the time interval betw.en COVID-19 diagnosis and delivery, the Ct value, and the gestational age at infection onset or delivery (P > 0.05). The majority of w.men w.re symptomatic at diagnosis regardless of vaccination status (55 (88.71%) in vaccinated groupvs. 78 (76.47%) in unvaccinated group (P = 0.052). The Essential Role of Zheng Qi in Promoting Health: From the Perspective of Chinese Medicine and Modern Medicine

The concept of Zheng Qi in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) refers to the vital energy produced by the interaction of Yin and Yang forces in the body. Zheng Qi performs tw. main functions: w.i Qi (defensive Qi), w.ich shields the body from external pathogens, and Ying Qi (nutritive Qi), w.ich sustains the internal organs and enhances their functionality. In TCM, Chinese tonifying herbs can help restore the balance of Yin/Yang and Qi/Blood function in visceral organs (i.e., optimal physiological functions), thereby fostering the efficient production of Zheng Qi and enhancing health. To ensure the quality of Chinese herbal products, functional assays to measure Yin/Yang, Qi/Blood functions, and Zheng Qi production should be implemented. The efficacy of Yang and Qi herbs can be evaluated by their ability to increase mitochondrial ATP in cultured mouse cardiomyocytes, w.ile Yin and Blood herbs are tested through their immunostimulatory effects on antigen-induced T/B cell proliferation in mouse splenocytes and the production of erythropoietin/nitric oxide in hepatocytes/vascular endothelial cells, respectively. Additionally, Zheng Qi’s effect can be gauged by examining natural k.ller cell activity and antigen-induced T/B cell proliferation in mice ex vivo. These assays act as biomark.rs for assessing the quality and effectiveness of herbal health products w.thin TCM theory.
