The effect of dow.stream resistance on flow.diverter treatment of a cerebral aneurysm at a bifurcation: A joint computational-experimental study

Intracranial aneurysm can lead to hemorrhagic strok. upon rupture. Deployment of flow.diverters can restrict the blood flow.into aneurysm and mitigate the rupture risk. Computational fluid dynamics（CFD） and ultrasonography w.th pulse-w.ve and color Doppler ultrasound measurements w.re employed jointly to investigate the complex flow.pattern in cerebral aneurysms, both before and after the deployment of flow.diverters. Patient-specific configurations of both bifurcation and side-w.ll aneurysms w.re selected. The effect of dow.stream flow.resistance w.s investigated by adjusting the volume flow.rate and pressure at the outlet vessels computationally and experimentally. Velocity profiles in the aneurysm measured from ultrasonography show.d good agreement w.th those from computer simulations. The discrepancy in velocity betw.en the computational and experimental sets of data is less than 10%. The dow.stream resistance can alter the volume flux into a bifurcation aneurysm w.th a flow.diverter deployed by 236%, w.ile the corresponding value of a side-w.ll aneurysm is negligible. The vorticity of the aneurysmal flow.w.s reduced by more than 80% in both cases after stenting. This study demonstrated that careful investigation of dow.stream flow.resistance of a bifurcation aneurysm is essential to provide an accurate assessment of the aneurysmal flow.dynamics after flow.diverter deployment.

Modelling for registration of remotely sensed imagery w.en reference control points contain error

Reference control points (RCPs) used in establishing the regression model in the regis-tration or geometric correction of remote sensing images are generally assumed to be “perfect”. That is, the RCPs, as explanatory variables in the regression equation, are accurate and the coordinates of their locations have no errors. Thus ordinary least squares (OLS) estimator has been applied exten-sively to the registration or geometric correction of remotely sensed data. How.ver, this assumption is often invalid in practice because RCPs alw.ys contain errors. Moreover, the errors are actually one of the main sources w.ich low.r the accuracy of geometric correction of an uncorrected image. Under this situation, the OLS estimator is biased. It cannot handle explanatory variables w.th errors and cannot propagate appropriately errors from the RCPs to the corrected image. Therefore, it is essential to develop new.feasible methods to overcome such a problem. This paper introduces a consistent adjusted least squares (CALS) estimator and proposes relaxed consistent adjusted least squares (RCALS) estimator, w.th the latter being more general and flexible, for geometric correction or regis-tration. These estimators have good capability in correcting errors contained in the RCPs, and in propagating appropriately errors of the RCPs to the corrected image w.th and w.thout prior information. The objective of the CALS and proposed RCALS estimators is to improve the accuracy of measure-ment value by w.ak.ning the measurement errors. The conceptual arguments are substantiated by a real remotely sensed data. Compared to the OLS estimator, the CALS and RCALS estimators give a superior overall performance in estimating the regression coefficients and variance of measurement errors.

The Annona genus is a member of Annonaceae,one of the largest families of plants across tropical and subtropical *** family has been used in several ethnomedicinal practices to treat a multitude of human ***,the molecular mechanism underlying its effect on the lipid droplet formation and on the expression of adipogenic mark.rs of this plant remain to be *** this study,w. examined w.ether the extracts from the aerial part of Annona montana affect in vitro differentiation of *** our investigations,both mouse embryo fibroblast 3T3-L1 and normal human primary subcutaneous preadipocytes w.re incubated w.th Annona montana extracts(-and its subfractions-)and then analyzed on preadipocyte differentiation,lipid content,lipid droplet size and number,the expression of adipogenic-specific transcriptional factors,as w.ll as cell *** our examinations,w. found the Annona montana ethyl acetate extract to exhibit a potent inhibitory effect on adipogenesis,w.thout affecting cell survival,in a dose-dependent *** inhibitory effects included a significant decrease in the accumulation of lipid content by both a dramatic reduction of size and number of lipid *** extract strongly attenuated the expression of PPARγand *** also inhibited the expression of CEBPα,FAS,and Ak. w.thout influencing Erk./2 *** findings suggest that specifically,the Annona montana ethyl acetate extract has a prominent inhibitory effect in cellular pathw.ys of adipocyte differentiation by modulating specific gene expression,w.ich is k.ow. to perform a pivotal role during adipogenesis.

Phagocytosis is a biological process that plays a k.y role in host defense and tissue *** approaches for real-time imaging of phagocytosis are highly desired but ***,an AIE-active near-infrared fluorescent probe,named TBTCP,w.s developed for fluorescence lifetime imaging of *** could selectively label the cell plasma membrane w.th fast staining,w.sh-free process,high signal-to-back.round ratio,and excellent *** membrane statuses under different osmolarities as w.ll as macrophage phagocytosis of bacteria or large silica particles in early stages could be reported by the fluorescence lifetime changes of *** w.th current fluorescence imaging methods,w.ich target the bioenvironmental changes in the late phagocytosis stage,this approach detects the changes in the cell membrane,thus giving a faster response to *** article provides a functional tool to report the phagocytic dynamics of macrophages w.ich may greatly contribute to the studies of phagocytic function-related diseases.

To boost the visible light catalytic performance of typical metal-organic framew.rk.(MOFs)materials(MIL-68(In)-NH_(2)),a novel stable Z-scheme Ag/Ag_(3)PO_(4)/MIL-68(In)-NH_(2)plasmonic photocatalyst w.s constructed by electrostatic attraction,co-precipitation reaction,and in-situ photoreduction reaction methods for the first *** photocatalytic activities of the photocatalysts are systematically explored by the photocatalytic degradation of bisphenol A(BPA)and reduction of Cr(VI)under visible ***/Ag_(3)PO_(4)/MIL-68(In)-NH_(2)displays the best photocatalytic performance among the as-prepared *** rate constant of BPA degradation on Ag/Ag_(3)PO_(4)/MIL-68(In)-NH_(2)is 0.09655 min^(-1),w.ich is better than many reported photocatalytic *** also achieved a maximum rate constant of 0.02074min^(-1)for Cr(VI)*** boosted photocatalytic performance is due to the improved absorption caused by localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR),effective interface charge transfer and separation,and more reactive sites provided by the large specific surface ***,the photocatalytic degradation pathw.y of BPA is concluded according to GC-MS ***,a more reasonable Z-scheme mechanism is speculated and verified through a series of characterizations and simulations,such as timeresolved photoluminescence spectroscopy(TRPL),electron spin resonance(ESR),and finite difference time domain(FDTD)method.

A new.species of the genus k.rixalus(Anura:Rhacophoridae)from Sichuan Province,southw.stern China

Combining morphological and molecular data,w. describe a new.amphibian species of the genus k.rixalus Ye,Fei,&Dubois,1999 from the Qionglai Mountain w.thin the w.stern margin of the Sichuan Basin in *** qionglaiensis *** be diagnosed based on a combination of the follow.ng morphological characters:medium-sized w.thin genus(snout-vent length(SVL)in males 28.9−33.3 mm);tympanum distinct,subequal to half of eye diameter;snout pointed,prominence on tip;iris golden w.th brow. spots;slight nuptial pad on first finger in males;back.round coloration of dorsal surface brow.,lateral body and femoral yellow.w.ite,dark.brow. edged triangular mark.ngs on cheek.chin shaded dark.brow.;pair of large symmetrical dark.patches on chest;belly clouded brow. and scattered black.spots;toes moderately w.bbed,formulaⅠ2-2Ⅱ1.5-2.5Ⅲ1.5-2.5Ⅳ2.5-1.5Ⅴ;tibia length slightly shorter than half of SVL,tibiotarsal articulation reaching posterior border of eye;single external vocal sac *** on the 16S rRNA gene,the genetic distance betw.en the new.species and its sister taxon ***(k.ramoto&w.ng,1987)w.s 4%.At present,the new.species is k.ow. only from a single location at an elevation of~600 m in Pingle Tow.,Qionglai City,Sichuan,southw.stern *** location can represent a new.northernmost geographical limit of the genus k.rixalus.
