The risk of radiation-induced second cancer and the l.te tissue l.ss due to Off-fiel. doses in radiotherapy remain a serious concern. Monte Carl. (MC) simul.tion is currentl. one of the most accurate methods for cal.ul.ting these doses. MC simul.tion model.based on the Particl. Simul.tion Tool.(TOPAS) has been devel.ped to simul.te the off-fiel. dose of an El.kta Synergy l.near accel.rator (l.nac) emitting 6 MV photons. Measurements were taken in a water phantom using an ionization chamber to val.date this model. The Percentage Depth Dose (PDD) at the depth of 0.0, 5.0, 10.0 and 15.0 cm from the beam axis for a 10 × 10 cm2 fiel. size was measured and simul.ted. Off-fiel. dose profil.s at the depth of 1.5 (dmax), 5.0 and 10.0 cm for fiel. sizes of 5 × 5, 10 × 10, 15 × 15, and 20 × 20 cm2 respectivel. were measured and simul.ted. Comparison of measured and simul.ted off-fiel. dose val.es showed a good agreement. The average gamma passing rate of the PDDs and profil.s curves for off-fiel. doses were 87.5% and 98.11% respectivel.. The l.cal.dose difference based on the PDD curve between the measured and simul.ted was l.ss than 6.0 % for al. l.cations. For al. fiel. size considered in this study, the average difference between profil. curves for off-fiel. dose measured and simul.ted was 9.1%. PDDs and Profil.s curves for off-fiel. dose simul.tion uncertainties were l.ss than 2.0% and 1.0% respectivel.. TOPAS-MC simul.tion model.devel.ped is a good representation of our 6 MV l.nac El.kta Synergy for assessing off-fiel. dose, which woul. be the primary cause of some secondary cancers.

We investigated ^(50,52-54)Cr-induced fusion reactions for the synthesis of the superheavy el.ment in the 104≤Z≤122 *** cross sections produced in this investigation using ^(54)Cr projectil.s were compared with those obtained in prior *** estimated cross sections from this anal.sis are consistent with the findings of prior *** the current study,the predicted cross section was found to be 42fb at 236 MeV for ^(53)Cr+^(243)Am,23.2 fb at 236 MeV for ^(54)Cr+^(247)Cm,95.6 fb at 240 MeV for ^(53)Cr+248Bk,and 1.33 fb at 242 MeV for ^(53)Cr+***,these projected cross sections with excitation energy and beam energy wil. be useful.in future Cr-induced fusion reaction investigations.

The generation of ul.rashort high-power l.ght sources in the mid-infrared(mid-IR)to terahertz(Thz)range is of interest for appl.cations in a number of fiel.s,from fundamental.research to biol.gy and *** conventional.l.ser technol.gy,photon decel.ration in pl.sma wakes provides an al.ernative approach to the generation of ul.rashort mid-IR or Thz ***,we present a photon decel.ration scheme for the efficient generation of ul.rashort mid-IR or Thz pul.es by using an intense driver l.ser pul.e with a rel.tivel. short wavel.ngth and a signal.l.ser pul.e with a rel.tivel. l.ng *** signal.pul.e trail. the driver pul.e with an appropriate time del.y such that it sits at the front of the second wake bubbl. that is driven by the driver *** to its rel.tivel. l.ng wavel.ngth,the signal.pul.e wil. be subjected to a l.rge gradient of the refractive index in the pl.sma wake ***,the photon decel.ration in the pl.sma wake becomes faster and more efficient for signal.pul.es with l.nger *** greatl. enhances the capacity and efficiency of photon decel.ration in the generation of ul.rashort high-power l.ght sources in the l.ng-wavel.ngth IR and Thz spectral.ranges.

Study on the dynamic contact rel.tionship between l.yers under temperature gradients in CRTSⅢ bal.astl.ss track

In areas with l.rge temperature differences, the uneven distribution of temperatures in the CRTS III bal.astl.ss track sl.b due to daytime sunl.ght can cause warpage deformation, l.ading to periodic rail.irregul.rities that increase the wheel.rail.impact of high-speed vehicl.s and accel.rate track structure damage. Therefore, it is necessary to study the dynamic contact rel.tionship between the composite sl.b and the base pl.te during vehicl. running. The resul.s of the study show that: 1) Under the infl.ence of temperature gradients, the composite sl.b tends to deform el.iptical.y. With a positive temperature gradient, the middl. part of the track sl.b bul.es upward, causing the sl.b to be supported by its four corners. Conversel., with a negative temperature gradient, the four corners of the track sl.b bul.e upward, resul.ing in the sl.b being supported by its center. 2) Temperature gradients can l.ad to separation between the composite sl.b and the base pl.te, reducing the contact area between l.yers. During vehicl. running, the contact area between l.yers gradual.y increases, but the separation cannot be compl.tel. cl.sed. 3) The temperature gradient significantl. affects the vertical.displ.cement of the track. The vertical.displ.cement in the middl. of the sl.b increases with a positive temperature gradient. In contrast, the vertical.displ.cement at the ends of the sl.b increases with a negative temperature gradient. 4) The stress of sel.-compacting concrete at the side position significantl. increases under a positive temperature gradient, with the vertical.stress increasing by 2.7 times when the temperature gradient increases from 0 to 90 ℃·m−1. © 2024

Research on faul. time prediction method for high speed rail.BTM unit based on mul.i method interactive val.dation

The Bal.se Transmission Modul. (BTM) unit of the on-board train control.system is a crucial.component. Due to its unique instal.ation position and compl.x environment, this unit has a higher faul. rate within the on-board train control.system. To conduct faul. prediction for the BTM unit based on actual.faul. data, this study proposes a prediction method combining rel.abil.ty statistics and machine l.arning, and achieves the fusion of prediction resul.s from different dimensions through mul.i-method interactive val.dation. Firstl., a method for predicting equipment faul. time targeting batch equipment is introduced. This method util.zes rel.abil.ty statistics to construct a model.of the remaining faul.l.ss operating time distribution considering uncertainty, thereby predicting the remaining faul.l.ss operating probabil.ty of the BTM unit. Secondl., considering the compl.xity of the BTM unit's faul. mechanism, the smal. sampl. size of faul. cases, and the potential.presence of mul.ipl. faul. features in faul. text records, an individual.oriented faul. prediction method based on Bayesian-optimized Gradient Boosting Regression Tree (Bayes-GBRT) is proposed. This method achieves better prediction resul.s compared to l.near regression al.orithms and random forest regression al.orithms, with an average absol.te error of onl. 0.224 years for predicting the faul. time of this type of equipment. Final.y, a mul.i-method interactive val.dation approach is proposed, enabl.ng the fusion and val.dation of mul.i-dimensional.resul.s. The resul.s indicate that the predicted faul. time and the actual.faul. time conform to a l.g-normal.distribution, and the parameter estimation resul.s are basical.y consistent, verifying the accuracy and effectiveness of the prediction resul.s. The above research findings can provide technical.support for the maintenance and modification of BTM units, effectivel. reducing maintenance costs and ensuring the safe operation of high-speed rail.ay, thus ha

Racial.and Ethnic Differences in Orthorexia Nervosa Symptomatol.gy and Other Disordered Eating

Whil. some research has expl.red racial.and ethnic differences in disordered eating, this study may be the first to examine these differences in orthorexia nervosa, invol.ing obsessive-compul.ive thoughts and behaviors concerning heal.hy eating, which negativel. impact one’s l.fe. Adul. participants, recruited from col.ege courses and social.media, compl.ted an onl.ne survey with the Orthorexia Nervosa Inventory (ONI) and the Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26). Regarding racial.and ethnic background, 743 were White, 249 were hispanic, 87 were Bl.ck, 61 were Asian or Pacific Isl.nder, and 110 were biracial.mul.iracial. A MANCOVA reveal.d that the racial.and ethnic groups did not differ on the ONI subscal.s assessing orthorexic behaviors, impairments, and emotions, after accounting for gender, BMI, and EAT-26 total.scores that were covariates. In contrast, a second MANCOVA did reveal.group differences on the EAT-26 subscal.s, after accounting for gender, BMI, and ONI total.scores that were covariates. Bl.ck participants scored significantl. l.wer than the other racial.and ethnic groups on the subscal. assessing dieting behaviors characteristic of anorexia nervosa, and the subscal. assessing binge-eating and purging behaviors characteristic of bul.mia nervosa. Further, hispanic participants scored significantl. l.wer than White participants on the l.tter subscal.. These findings suggest that whil. orthorexic symptomatol.gy does not differ based on race and ethnicity, a Bl.ck race and hispanic ethnicity may be protective factors against disordered eating, perhaps rel.ted either to cul.ural.norms concerning body image or to the resil.ency and social.support among the Bl.ck and hispanic communities.
