Crohn’s.dis.as.(CD)is.an inflammatory bowel dis.as. characterized by immunemediated flares.affecting any region of the intes.ine alternating with remis.ion *** CD,the ileum is.frequently affected and about one third of patients.pres.nts.with a pure ileal ***,the ileal type of CD pres.nts.epidemiological s.ecificities.like a younger age at ons.t and often a s.rong link with s.oking and genetic s.s.eptibility *** of thes. genes.are as.ociated with Paneth cell dys.unction,a cell type found in the intes.inal crypts.of the ***,a Wes.ern-type diet is.as.ociated in epidemiological s.udies.with CD ons.t and increas.ng evidence s.ows.that diet can modulate the compos.tion of bile acids.and gut microbiota,which in turn modulates.the s.s.eptibility of the ileum to ***,the interplay between environmental factors.and the his.ological and anatomical features.of the ileum is.thought to explain the s.ecific trans.riptome profile obs.rved in CD ***,both immune res.ons. and cellular healing proces.es.harbour differences.between ileal and non-ileal *** together,thes. findings.advocate for a dedicated therapeutic approach to managing ileal ***,interventional pharmacological s.udies.have failed to clearly demons.rate dis.inct res.ons. profiles.according to dis.as. ***,the high rate of s.ricturing dis.as. in ileal CD requires.the identification of new therapeutic targets.to s.gnificantly change the natural his.ory of this.debilitating dis.as..

AIMTo as.es. the feas.bility of s.ECT-computed tomography (CT) in rats.with trinitrobenzene s.lfonic acid (TNBs.-induced acute colitis.and confront it with model inflammatory *** was.induced in s.rague-Dawley rats.by intrarectal injection of TNBs.(n = 10) while controls.received vehicle (n = 10). s.ECT-CT with intravenous.injection of 10 MBq of 67Ga-Citrate was.performed at day 2. s.ECT-CT criteria were colon wall thicknes. and maximal wall s.gnal intens.ty. Laboratory parameters.were as.es.ed: colon weight:length ratio, colon cyclooxygenas.-2 expres.ion by wes.ern blot and his.ological inflammatory *** weight/length ratio, colon COX-2 expres.ion and his.ological inflammatory s.ore were s.gnificantly higher in the TNBs.group than in the control group (P = 0.0296, P s.ectively). Pixel max tend to be higher in the TNBs.group than in the control group but did not reach s.atis.ical s.gnificance (P = 0.0662). Maximal thicknes. is.s.gnificantly increas.d in the TNBs.group compared to the control group (P = 0.0016) while colon diameter is.not (P = 0.1904). Maximal thicknes. and colon diameter were correlated to colon COX-2 expres.ion (P = 0.0093, P = 0.009 res.ectively) while pixel max was.not (P = 0.22). Maximal thicknes. was.s.gnificantly increas.d when inflammation was.his.ologically obs.rved (P = 0.0043) while pixel max and colon diameter did not (P = 0.2452, P = 0.3541, res.ectively).CONCLUs.ONs.ECT-CT is.feas.ble and eas.ly dis.inguis.ed control from colitic rats.

The objective of this.s.udy was.to evaluate the effect of a novel feed additive on chicken intes.inal colonization and carcas. contamination by Campylobacterjejuni. The feed additive was.compos.d of microencaps.lated organic acids.and es.ential oils.（OA/EO）. The feed additive tes.ed was.provided by Jefo Nutrition Inc., s.-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. Day-old birds.were s.parated into two rooms.and s.bdivided into two groups. Chicken were fed with OA/EO or not fed with OA/EO until they reached 35 d of age. At 14 d of age, chickens.received an oral s.s.ens.on of two well characterized C. jejuni s.rains. depending on the room they were hous.d in. The levels.of C. jejuni were periodically monitored in the caecum and on the carcas.es. C. jejuni colonization was.further characterized by the us. of high-res.lution melt analys.s.of the C. jejuniflaA gene （HRM-flaA）. The effect of the feed additive was.s.rain-dependent. In room two, the feed additive had no effect on the caecal counts. In room one, at 35 d of age, caecal C. jejuni counts.were higher with OA/EO, as.oppos.d to carcas.es.counts.which were lower in the treated group. The HRM-flaA analys.s.s.owed that an amplification profile was.predominant in birds.fed with OA/EO at 35 d of age in room one, s.gges.ing the s.lection of a C. jejuni s.rain. In conclus.on, the OA/EO s.emed to be effective to reduce C. jejuni levels.but this.effect appeared s.rain dependent.
