The purpose of this paper is to classify wines from 4 different countries in South *** class of wines is formed by samples considered by experts as representatives of the following commercial categories:“Argentinean Malbec(AM)”,“Brazilian Merlot(BM)”,“Uruguayan Tannat(UT)”and“Chilean Carménère(CC)”.The 83 samples collected were analyzed according to their composition of volatiles,semi-volatiles and phenolic *** built a decision system for classification based on support vector machines(SVM),along with Correlation-based Feature selection(CFS),and RandomForest Importance(RFI),whichmeasures the relative importance of the input ***,we use CFS to select a subset of variables among 190 chemical *** chemicals were selected as correlated to the category and uncorrelated with each ***,these chemical compounds were organized according to the importance ranking given by the RFI and classified with *** study clearly indicated that SVMin combination with feature selection methodswas able to identify the most important chemicals to classify the wine *** the compounds identified in the wine samples,the variable subset defined by the feature selection methods,which were catechin,gallic,octanoic acid,myricetin,caffeic,isobutanol,resveratrol,kaempferol,and ORAC,were able to achieve an accuracy of 93.97%in classifying the commercial categories.

Comparison between Two Ethanolic Solutions for 3’-Deoxy-3’-[<sup>18</sup>F]Fluorothymidine Elution

3’-Deoxy-3’-[18F]Fluorothymidine—[18F]FLT is a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) tracer which has been used for noninvasive assessment of proliferation activity in several types of cancer. During the past few years, some novel approaches for [18F]FLT synthesis have been developed, mainly focused on optimization of reaction conditions and purification methods. The present study reports the use of two different eluents in the final step of [18F]FLT production and the evaluation of its effect on radiochemical yield and product quality. The first eluent evaluated was water: ethanol (90:10, v/v), commercially available, and the second was NaCl 0.9% (saline): ethanol (92:8, v/v). The mean of the corrected radiochemical yields corresponded to 27% ± 7% for elution with water and ethanol and to 23% ± 3% for elution with saline and ethanol, which could indicate that the eluent solutions have similar elution strength. Besides, quality control results were in accordance with the requirements and demonstrated that there was no significant difference between both formulations. Considering that pharmaceutical preparations containing ethanol should be preferentially diluted with saline to avoid hemolysis, the eluent saline:ethanol (92:8, v/v) was chosen for [18F]FLT extraction and final formulation.

Tako-Tsubo Cardiomyopathy—The Role of Physical and Emotional Stressors:Two Case Report

Introduction: Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy describes a form of acute and reversible left ventricular dysfunction with a clinical presentation, ECG and cardiac biomarkers that makes it indistinguishable from acute coronary syndrome. Case Presentation: The authors present two cases of tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy in postmenopausal women, the first case following an emotional stressful event and a second case following a blood transfusion and probably associated with intravenous catecholamine perfusion. Both had unobstructed coronary arteries and regional wall-motion abnormalities typical of this syndrome. Conclusions: Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy is a condition often misdiagnosed. A clinical presentation suggestive of acute coronary syndrome in a postmenopausal woman without history of coronary disease and in whom a precipitating stressful event can be found should lead the physician to suspect the diagnosis of tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy. This syndrome associated with blood transfusion has rarely been described.

Neuroplasticity in Spinal Trauma: A Current Narrative Review of Treatments

Neuroplasticity is a condition that is present from birth, being found in the central and peripheral nervous system, in both physiological and pathological terms. Based on the findings, therapeutic and non-therapeutic attempts were tested on spinal cord trauma to recover locomotor function below the level of the injury. The work defined and showed other forms of the term neuroplasticity, talk about some pathological and non-pathological conditions, and, finally, show neuroplasticity and some of its treatments in the spinal cord injury process. A narrative literature review from 2000 to 2020 of the PubMed platform was conducted and analysis of two books for the elaboration of this work. Animal/human studies were included that addressed pathologies, forms of treatment for spinal trauma, and qualis from B1 to A1. Pre-2000 articles, which addressed neuroplasticity only to understand the molecular mechanisms and articles that were not in English, were excluded. As a result, the main molecules and structures that inhibit neuroplasticity were found, and, based on their knowledge, forms of treatments were developed to inhibit these molecules and structures to assist in neuroplasticity and assist in possible functional recovery. It can be concluded that the physiological barriers are already being overcome by the most recent forms of treatment and that soon new studies may propose a form of treatment that is protocoled for all patients.

Differential Growth of Genotypes of Physic Nut Conditioned by Nitrogen Fertilization

The adequate supply of nitrogen is essential for the plant metabolism. This nutrient has an irreplaceable role on the vegetative and reproductive growth of physic nut;therefore the correct management of the fertilization is very important, particularly in tropical regions, which present considerable losses of nitrogen by leaching and volatilization processes. This study was made with the objective of evaluating the growth of genotypes of physic nut conditioned by nitrogen fertilization. The experiment was conducted in controlled environment, following a factorial scheme 12 × 4, with 12 Brazilian genotypes of Jatropha curcas L. and 4 levels of nitrogen fertilization (0%, 50%, 100% and 150% of the recommendation), in completely randomized design, with four replications. The growth of the genotypes was evaluated at 100 days of cultivation. Positive response to the increase in the nitrogen supply was observed in most genotypes, with gain in plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area and root volume. The levels of nitrogen fertilization promoted differential growth between genotypes, being possible to identify genotypes with superior growth for each level.

Background: Oxidative stress and inflammation are related to the pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus (DM), being involved in the development of micro-and macrovascular complications. Physical activity is beneficial for DM patients, but little is known about the relationship between redox and inflammation biomarkers and the level of physical activity in these patients. Based on this, this research aims to evaluate the effects of physical activity level on redox stress parameters and inflammatory markers in T2DM patients. Methods: Eighty-four patients with T2DM were divided according to their physical activity level: group A (n = 48), sedentary;group B (n = 11) active (3 times a week, 150 min) and group C (n = 25), highly active (5 times a week, 150 - 300 mins, at least). Anthropometric and biochemical parameters, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities, as well as GSH, sRAGE and ICAM-1 levels were assessed. Results: Glycated haemoglobin, total cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol levels were lower in the highly active group in comparison to other groups. Plasma SOD activity was higher in group C compared to Group A, while ICAM-1 levels were significantly higher in group B when compared to other groups. Conclusion: Our results suggest that the practice of physical activity is beneficial to T2DM patients, especially at high volume and frequency.

New Anesthetic Technique for Dacryocystorhinostomy: 218 Cases with Local-Anesthesia Ultrasonographic Guided and Blunt Cannula

Introduction: Epiphora is a common ophthalmologic complaint and referrals to oculoplastics and, in the presence of lower complete lacrimonasal duct obstruction, may lead to mild to severe complications, thus requiring surgery to create a new drainage path. The external dacryocystorhinostomy with silicon intubation is the surgical technique with better long-term outcomes and performed in the institutions where this study was conducted. Can be performed under either general or loco-regional anesthesia, or a combination of both. Methods: This article presents a revision of 218 consecutive cases from December 2016 to June 2021 in two specialized centers with the same standardized surgical and anesthetic technique. Results: 242 surgical prontuaries were selected, with 218 filling the inclusion criteria. 13% of the patients required additional anesthetic infusion before the beginning of the surgery;2.7% of the patients required field anesthetic infusion during the surgery and 6.4% required supplementary sedation, thus meaning a positive outcome, as the number of patients with intraoperative complaints was low, and the overall comfort was high. During the follow up, no patient required pain medication after 24 hours. Discussion: This study points towards the feasibility of the described technique in an outpatient fashion, with low, mild and tolerable side effects associated.

Quality of Melon 'UFERSA-05 *** and Pele de Sapo“Mabel”Minimally Processed,Kept in Different Packages

This study aimed at evaluating the quality of melon Pele de Sapo “Mabel” and Yellow melon “UFERSA-05” minimally processed preserved in different packages. The fruits were harvested at Mossoró-RN and transported to Serra Talhada-PE. In the first study, melon fruit Piel de Sapo “Mabel” was selected, washed, weighed, cooled, peeled, cut into cube shape, sanitized in chlorine solution, drained, packaged in rigid polypropylene tray, sealed with polypropylene film or polypropylene rigid cap and kept for 8 days at 8℃. In the second study, fruits of yellow melon “UFERSA-05” and Pele de Sapo “Mabel” were minimally processed and kept in rigid polypropylene tray, sealed with polypropylene film and stored for 8 days at 8℃. There was no significant interaction between packaging (sealed with film and polypropylene cover) and period of conservation, for pH, total titratable acidity (TTA), total soluble solids (TSS) and Loss of fresh mass (LFM) for Melon “Mabel”. While there was significant interaction between types of melon (“UFERSA-05” and “Mabel”) and storage period (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 days) for pH, TTA and TSS. In sensory evaluation were noticeable changes in appearance, flavor, aroma and flesh firmness, characterized by translucency, alcoholic aroma and softening in “Mabel” melon kept in tray with lid. Melon “UFERSA-05” showed lower pH, total soluble solids, total soluble sugars, PME activity, lack of translucency high flesh firmness compared to “Mabel” melon during storage. The high levels of sugars in melon “Mabel” may be related to the incidence of translucency, which was not observed in “UFERSA-05” melon, with a strong potential to minimal processing.

Ultrasound-Guided Peribulbar Block with Blunt Canula for Cataract Surgery: A Review of Historical Case-Series

Introduction: Cataract surgery is one of the procedures most performed worldwide. Those are several options for anesthetic management, with many factors that affect the choice of any given technique, depending on patients’ needs, surgeons’ preferences and institutional facilities and processes. Although being more invasive than topic anesthesia, and with possible hazardous side effects, peribulbar block is still an effective and successful technique. The utilization of blunt canula and ultrasound guidance might enhance the safety pattern for this technique. Methods: This article presents a revision of 1089 consecutive cases from February 2016 to January 2022, of patients submitted to cataract surgery under peribulbar anesthesia with blunt canula and ultrasound guidance. Results: 1318 surgical records were selected, with 1089 filling the inclusion criteria. There was a higher prevalence of the feminine gender (54%), with a median age of 64.3 (28 - 102) years. Mean IAV was 2.9 mL (sd 0.16 mL, 2.5 - 3.0 mL), with total HOS 91.1%;OR to reach G2 or above for each (ISB/IMB) was 11.0;CA was 47.9%, with mean FAV of 4.29 mL (sd 2.17mL, 2.5 - 15 mL). In 8.9% patients, HOS could not be fully observed. ISB, IMB, CA and FAV were calculated for both groups (non-HOS and HOS-only). OR for CA (non-HOS/HOS-only) was 126.21. The main adverse effects were chemosis (2.9%), hyposphagma (5.7%) and high IOP (7.5%). No procedure was postponed due to anesthesia-associated adverse events. Discussion: This study points towards the feasibility of the described technique in an outpatient fashion, with low, mild and tolerable side effects associated.

Genetic Variability among Genotypes of Physic Nut Regarding Seed Biometry

With probable center of origin in Brazil, the species Jatropha curcas L., known as physic nut, is a tropical oilseed with potential for cultivation aiming at the production of biodiesel. This study was conducted with the objective of investigating the genetic variability regarding the morphology of seeds of physic nut, using biometric analyses to identify variables that have potential for the study of the diversity of the species and the classification of genotypes. Seeds of 22 genotypes of physic nut, from the germplasm bank of Embrapa Agroenergia (Brazil) were evaluated regarding characteristics of size and mass. The genotypes of Jatropha curcas L. selected by the Brazilian breeding program presented high diversity for characteristics of the seeds, allowing the exploration of this genetic variability to classify genotypes in different groups. In addition, variables related to the biomass of the seeds present high relative contributions to the diversity observed in the genotypes.
