Anxiety-behavior modulated by Ventral medial Prefrontal Cortex of Rats Submitted to the Vogel Conflict Test Involves a Local NmDA Receptor and Nitric Oxide

It was demonstrated in the Vogel conflict test (VCT) that the ventral portion of medial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) of rats is involved with anxiety behavior. moreover, the vmPFC local glutamatergic and nitrergic system interaction is involved in modulation of fear conditioning, a model of anxiety. To better understand the role of the mPFC-glutamatergic and nitrergic system on the VTC behavior response, male Wistar rats (250 g) were water deprived for 48 h before the VCT. After 24 h of water deprivation, they were subjected to an initial 3-min non-punished (pre-test) drinking session. Twenty-four hours later bilateral microinjections of NmDA-antagonist LY235959 (4 nmol/200 nL), the specific nNOS inhibitor N-Propyl-L-arginine (N-Propyl –0.08 nmol/200 nL), the NO scavenger Carboxi-PTIO (C-PTIO, 2 nmol/200 nL) or 200nL of vehicle were applied in the vmPFC. After 10 min, the animals were submitted to 3-min punished-licking session. LY235959 increased the number of punished licks. Similar to LY235959, both N-Propyl and C-PTIO also increased the number of punished licks. No changes were observed when LY235959, N-Propyl and C-PTIO were micro- injected into vmPFC surrounding structures such as the cingulate cortex area 1, the corpus callosum and the tenia tecta. In control experiments these drugs did not change neither the number of unpunished licks nor had any effect in the tail-flick test. The results show that NO signaling in the vmPFC can modulate anxiety-behavior in the VCT by control punished behavior. moreover, this NO modulation could be associated with local glutamatergic activation through NmDA receptors.

Recent reports suggest that aging is not solely a physiological process in living beings;instead, it should be considered a pathological process or disease(Amorim et al., 2022). Consequently, this process involves a wide range of factors, spanning from genetic to environmental factors, and even includes the gut microbiome(Gm)(mayer et al., 2022). All these processes coincide at some point in the inflammatory process, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, at different degrees in various organs and systems that constitute a living organism(mayer et al., 2022;AguilarHernández et al., 2023).

In this paper we provide a characterisation of rational developable surfaces in terms of the blossoms of the bounding curves and three rational functions∧,m,ν.Properties of developable surfaces are revised in this *** particular,a closed algebraic formula for the edge of regression of the surface is obtained in terms of the functions∧,m,ν,which are closely related to the ones that appear in the standard decomposition of the derivative of the parametrisation of one of the bounding curves in terms of the director vector of the rulings and its *** is also shown that all rational developable surfaces can be described as the set of developable surfaces which can be constructed with a constant∧,m,ν.The results are readily extended to rational spline developable surfaces.

boosting energy-storage capability in carbon-based supercapacitors using low-temperature water-in-salt electrolytes

Supercapacitors(SCs) are high-power energy storage devices with ultra-fast charge/discharge *** using concentrated aqueous-based electrolytes can work at low temperatures due to their intrinsic properties, such as higher freezing point depression(FPD) and robustness. besides the traditional organic-and aqueous-based(salt-in-water) electrolytes used in SCs, water-in-salt(WISE) sodium perchlorate electrolytes offer high FPD, non-flammability, and low-toxicity conditions, allowing the fabrication of safer, environmentally friendly, and more robust devices. For the first time, this work reports a comprehensive study regarding WISE system’s charge-storage capabilities and physicochemical properties under low-temperature conditions(T mesoporous carbon-based electrodes. The effect of temperature reduction on the electrolyte viscosity and electrical properties was investigated using different techniques and the in-situ(or operando) Raman spectroscopy under dynamic polarization *** cell voltage, equivalent series resistance, and specific capacitance were investigated as a function of the temperature. The cell voltage(U) increased ~ 50%, while the specific capacitance decreased ~20%when the temperature was reduced from 25 ℃ to -10 ℃. As a result, the maximum specific energy(E = CU^(2)/2) increased ~ 100%. Therefore, low-temperature WISEs are promising candidates to improve the energy-storage characteristics in SCs.

Performance of evolutionary optimized machine learning for modeling total organic carbon in core samples of shale gas fields

Exact recession velocity and cosmic redshift based on cosmological principle and Yang-mills gravity

based on the cosmological principle and quantum Yang-mills gravity in the super-macroscopic limit, we obtain an exact recession velocity and cosmic redshift z, as measured in an inertial frame F≡F(t,x,y,z). For a matter-dominated universe, we have the effective cosmic metric tensor Gμν(t)=(b^2(t),-A^2(t),-A^2(t),-A^2(t)), A∝b∝t^1/2, where t has the operational meaning of time in F frame. We assume a cosmic action S≡Scos involving Gμν(t) and derive the ‘Okubo equation’ of motion, G^μν(t)■μS■νS-m^2=0, for a distant galaxy with mass m. This cosmic equation predicts an exact recession velocity, r=rH/[1/2+√1/4+r^2H^2/C0^2]b/A, as observed in the inertial frame F. For small velocities, we have the usual Hubble's law r≈rH for recession velocities. Following the formulation of the accelerated Wu-Doppler effect, we investigate cosmic redshifts z as measured in F. It is natural to assume the massless Okubo equation, G^μν(t)■μψe■νψe=0, for light emitted from accelerated distant galaxies. based on the principle of limiting continuation of physical laws, we obtain a transformation for covariant wave 4-vectors between and inertial and an accelerated frame, and predict a relationship for the exact recession velocity and cosmic redshift, z=[(1+Vr)/(1-Vr^2)1/2]-1, where Vr=r/Cobserved in the inertial frame F. These predictions of the cosmic model are consistent with experiments for small velocities and should be further tested.

The Catabacteriaceae is a new bacterial family aerobic, non-sporulating, Gram-positive coccobacillus that is with a unique member： Catabacter hongkongensis is a strictly anphylogenetically related to some clostridial clusters. Little is known of its epidemiology and environmental distribution, but the inclusion of its 16S rRNA gene sequence in Genbank has allowed it to be detected qualitatively. As a first approach for prospective surveys, a real-time polymerase chain reaction （PCR） procedure to identify C. hongkongensis has been developed. The presence of Catabacteriaceae in 29 water bodies subjected to possible human or animal impact has been investigated. Four of them were positive. The results confirm that highly polluted water can contain C hongkongensis.

Compressing supercapacitor(SCs)electrode is essential for improving the energy storage characteristics and minimizing ions’distance travel,faradaic reactions,and overall ohmic *** comprising the ion dynamics in SC electrodes under compression are still ***,the ionic dynamics of five aqueous electrolytes in electrodes under compression were studied in this work for tracking electrochemical and structural changes under mechanical stress.A superionic state is formed when the electrode is compressed until the micropores match the dimensions with the electrolyte’s hydrated ion sizes,which increases the *** excessive compression is applied,the accessible pore regions decrease,and the capacitance ***,as the studied hydrated ions have different dimensions,the match between ion/pore sizes *** the LiOH and NaClO4electrolytes,increasing the pressure from 60 to 120 and 100 PSI raised the capacitance from 13.5 to 35.2 F g^(-1)and 30.9 to 39.0 F g^(-1),***,the KOH electrolyte with the lowest and LiCl with the biggest combination of hydrated ion size have their point of maximum capacitance(39.5 and 36.7F g^(-1))achieved at 140 and 80 PSI,*** LiCl and KCl electrolytes,overcompression causes a drop in capacitance higher than 23%.
