The high effectiveness of the third dose of BNT162b2 in healthy adolescents against Omicron BA.1 has been reported in some studies,but immune responses conferring this protection are not yet *** this analysis,our study(NcT04800133)aims to evaluate the humoral and cellular responses against wild-type and Omicron(BA.1,BA.2 and/or BA.5)SARS-coV-2 before and after a third dose of BNT162b2 in healthy *** 5 months after 2 doses,S IgG,S IgG Fc receptor-binding,and neutralising antibody responses waned significantly,yet neutralising antibodies remained detectable in all tested adolescents and S IgG avidity increased from 1 month after 2 *** antibody responses and S-specific IFN-γ^(+)and IL-2^(+)cD8^(+)T cell responses were significantly boosted in healthy adolescents after a homologous third dose of *** to adults,humoral responses for the third dose were non-inferior or superior in *** S-specific IFN-γ^(+)and IL-2^(+)cD4^(+)and cD8^(+)T cell responses in adolescents and adults were comparable or ***,after 3 doses,adolescents had preserved S IgG,S IgG avidity,S IgG FcγRIIIa-binding,against Omicron BA.2,as well as preserved cellular responses against BA.1 S and moderate neutralisation levels against BA.1,BA.2 and *** from 100 and 96%of adolescents tested at 1 and 5 months after two doses could also neutralise *** study found high antibody and T cell responses,including potent cross-variant reactivity,after three doses of BNT162b2 vaccine in adolescents in its current formulation,suggesting that current vaccines can be protective against symptomatic Omicron disease.

Use of incipient motion data for backward erosion piping models

Backward erosion piping involves the gradual removal of granular material under the action of water flow from the foundation of a dam or levee, whereby shallow pipes are formed that grow in the direction opposite to the flow. This pipe-forming process can ultimately lead to failure of a water-retaining structure and is considered one of the most important failure mechanisms for dikes and levees in the Netherlands and the United States. Modeling of this mechanism requires the assessment of hydraulic conditions in the pipe, which are controlled by the particle equilibrium at the pipe wall. Since the pipe’s dimensions are controlled by the inflow to the pipe from the porous medium, the flow through the pipe is thought to be laminar for fine-to medium-grained sands. The literature provides data for incipient motion in laminar flow, which is reviewed here and complemented with data from backward erosion experiments. The experiments illustrate the applicability of the laminar incipient motion data to determine the erosion pipe dimensions and corresponding pipe hydraulics for fine-to medium-grained sands, for the purpose of backward erosion piping modeling.

Defining Embedding Distortion for Intra Prediction Mode-Based Video Steganography

Sorption of Perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS) including its isomers on hydrargillite as a function of ph,humic substances and Na2SO4

Perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS)is a persistent organic pollutant(POP)and emergent contaminant that are widespread in the *** the mechanisms controlling the distribution of PFOS and its isomers between hydrargillite and the water phase is important in order to study their redistribution and mobility in the *** study investigated the effects of ph,humic acid,fulvic acid and Na_(2)SO_(4) on sorption of PFOS isomers to hydrargillite.A mixture of PFOS isomers was spiked into water and hydrargillite was added to the system and shaken for one day;the system was tested with different aqueous *** of PFOS isomers in the aqueous phase were quantified using an ultra-performance liquid chromatograph coupled to a triple quadrupole mass *** results showed that the distribution coefficients of PFOS isomers were found to be 0.76,0.71,0.93 and 0.90 at ph 6.5,for 3-/4-/5-PFOS,6-/2-PFOS,L-PFOS and total PFOS *** distribution coefficients increased at lower ph and decreased at alkaline *** presence of humic substances(hS)increased the sorption slightly at the environmental ph of 6.5,although a competition effect was observed during acidic conditions.A tendency of PFOS distribution to hydrargillite in the presence of Na_(2)SO_(4) was like its behavior in the presence of hS although the mechanisms behind the sorption were interpreted *** study revealed that L-PFOS was readily sorbed when no other chemicals were added or in 20 mg/L FA or 100 mg/L Na_(2)SO_(4).We suggest that an increase in PFOS sorption in the presence of hS may be due to hydrophobic mechanisms while Na_(2)SO_(4) contributed to increased sorption through ionic strength effects.

Serologic diagnosis of celiac disease: May it be suitable for adults?

The diagnosis of coeliac disease(cD)in adult patients requires the simultaneous assessment of clinical presentation,serology,and typical histological picture of villous ***,several years ago,the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology,hepatology,and Nutrition guidelines approved new criteria for the diagnosis in children:Biopsy could be avoided when antitransglutaminase antibody(TGA)values exceed the cut-off of×10 upper limit of normal(ULN)and anti-endomysium antibodies are positive,independently from ***“no biopsy”approach is a decisive need for pediatric population,allowing to avoid stressful endoscopic procedures in children,if *** approach relies on the correlation existing in children between TGA levels and assessment of mucosal atrophy according to Marsh’s *** lines of evidence have shown that patients with villous atrophy have markedly elevated TGA ***,we aim to perform a narrative review on the topic in *** that some studies confirmed that the×10 ULN threshold value has a very good diagnostic performance,several lines of evidence in adults suggest that TGA cut off should be different from that of pediatric population for reaching a good correlation with histological *** conclusion,the heterogeneity of study reports as well as some conditions,which may hamper the serological diagnosis of cD(such as seronegative cD and non-celiac villous atrophy)and are much more common in adults than in children,could represent a limitation for the“no biopsy”approach to cD diagnosis in patients outside the pediatric age.

The R-and AR-indices:complementing the h-index

Based on the foundation laid by the h-index we introduce and study the R- and AR-indices. These new indices eliminate some of the disadvantages of the h-index, especially when they are used in combina-tion with the h-index. The R-index measures the h-core’s citation intensity, while AR goes one step further and takes the age of publications into account. This allows for an index that can actually in-crease and decrease over time. We propose the pair (h, AR) as a meaningful indicator for research evaluation. We further prove a relation characterizing the h-index in the power law model.

Equalities between h-type Indices and Definitions of Rational h-type Indicators

Purpose: To show for which publication-citation arrays h-type indices are equal and to reconsider rational h-type indices. Results for these research questions fill some gaps in existing basic knowledge about h-type ***/methodology/approach: The results and introduction of new indicators are based on well-known ***: The research purpose has been reached: answers to the first questions are obtained and new indicators are defined. Research limitations: h-type indices do not meet the Bouyssou-Marchant independence *** implications: On the one hand, more insight has been obtained for well-known indices such as the h-and the g-index and on the other hand, simple extensions of existing indicators have been added to the bibliometric toolbox. Relative rational h-type indices are more useful for individuals than the existing absolute ***/value: Answers to basic questions such as "when are the values of two h-type indices equal" are provided. A new rational h-index is introduced.
