Electrical conductivity(EC)is considered as the most important indicator for assessment of groundwater *** of suitable interpolation method for derivation of groundwater quality variables map such as EC is dependent on region conditions and existence of enough *** determining groundwater EC,341 groundwater samples were randomly collected from the central regions of Guilan province,paddy soils,in northern *** methods including inverse distance weighting(IDW),global polynomial interpolation(GPI),local polynomial interpolation(LPI),radial basis function(RBF),ordinary kriging(OK)and empirical Bayesian Kriging(EBK)were used to generate spatial distribution of groundwater *** results indicate that EBK is a superior method with the least RMSE,MAE and the highest R *** generated maps can be used to identify the regions in the studied area where groundwater could be allowed to be extracted and utilized by farmers to reduce adverse effect of the scarcity of surface water.

Biological markers that evaluate physical healing as well as psychological impact of a burn are essential for effective treatment of paediatric *** objective of this review is to summarize the evidence supporting the use of biomarkers in children with *** extensive review of the literature was performed using PubMed.A total of 59 biomarkers were identified relating to burn presence,specifically relating to processes involved in inflammation,wound healing,growth and *** addition,biomarkers involved in the stress response cascade following a burn trauma were also *** many biomarkers have been identified that are potentially associated with burn-related physical and psychological trauma,an understanding of burn biology is still lacking in *** propose that future research in the field of children’s burns should be conducted using broad screening methods for identifying potential biomarkers,examine the biological interactions of different biomarkers,utilize child-appropriate biological fluids such as urine or saliva,and include a range of different severity *** further research,the biological response to burn injury may be fully realized and clinically relevant diagnostic tests and treatment therapies utilizing these biomarkers could be developed,for the improvement of healing outcomes in paediatric burn patients.

This study obtains a suitable reaction to produce 86Y. The 86Y excitation functions via 86Sr(p,n)86Y, 86Sr(d,2n)86Y, 85Rb(3He,2n)86Y and 85Rb(α,3n)86Y reactions were calculated by TALYS-1.0 code and compared with the reported measurement. Requisite thickness of targets was obtained by SRIM code for each reaction. The 86Y production yield was evaluated with attention to excitation function and stopping power. The 86Sr(p,n)86Y reaction was determined as most interesting one due to its highest production yield and advantages to get high radionuclide and radiochemical purity.

To meet the ever-increasing construction demands around the world during recent years,reinforcement and stabilization methods have been widely used by geotechnical engineers to improve the performances and behavior of fine-grained *** lime stabilization increases the compressive strength of soils,it reduces the soil ductility at the same *** research shows that random fiber inclusion modifies the brittleness of *** the current research,the effects of lime and polypropylene(PP)fiber additions on such characteristics as compressive and shear strengths,failure strain,secant modulus of elasticity(E50)and shear strength parameters of mixtures were *** was treated with 1%,3% and 5% lime by dry weight of soil and reinforced with 0.1% monovalent PP fibers with the length of 6 *** were prepared at optimum conditions and cured at 35℃ for 1 d,7 d and 28 d at 90% relative humidity and subsequently subjected to uniaxial and triaxial compression tests(UCT and TCT)under cell pressures of 25 kPa,50 kPa and 100 *** showed that inclusion of random PP fibers to clay-lime mixtures increases both compressive and shear strengths as well as the *** content and curing period were found to be the most influential *** electron microscopy(SEM)analysis showed that lime addition and the formation of cementitious compounds bind soil particles and increase soil/fiber interactions at interface,leading to enhanced shear *** more ductile the stabilized and reinforced composition,the less the cracks in roads and waste landfill covers.

The discrete element method(DEM)is a capable tool used to simulate shear wave propagation in granular assemblies for many *** have studied assembly shapes such as rectangles(in 2D simulations)or cylinders and cubes(in 3D simulations).This paper aimed to qualify the effect of assembly shape on the shear wave propagation and maximum amplification in the vertical plane(horizontal and vertical directions)caused by this *** this end,shear wave propagations in different assembly shapes such as rectangle,trapezium,and triangle with rigid boundary conditions were simulated.A sine wave pulse was applied with a point source by moving a particle as the transmitter *** evaluate the shear wave velocity of the assemblies,the transmitter and receiver particles were *** the simulations were performed with 2D DEM which is a useful tool to determine the amount and location of the maximum amplification factor of the assembly in both horizontal and vertical *** advantage of this study was assessing the effect of parameters such as input wave frequency,assembly height,shape,and aspect ratios on the amplification of the input waves.

Nutrition utilization and by-product formation in cultured insect cells has been investigated in several insect cells and has been of great interest to cell culturists and physiologists. In this research the biochemical changes in embryonic and fat body primary cultures of silkworm, Bombyx mori, have been compared. TC-100 medium supplemented with 10% and 20% FBS was used in embryonic and fat body primary cultures, respectively. Medium was renewed every week and the amount of glucose, uric acid, urea, total protein and alkaline phosphatase were measured in the samples from medium of primary cultures using spectrophotometeric methods. All biochemical macromolecules except uric acid showed significant changes. Glucose decreased in embryonic tissues, while in fat body culture its amount increased. Urea accumulation in embryonic culture was higher than in the fat body cultures. Since urea is a by-product, this accumulation could be due to higher utilization of amino acids. Total protein showed considerable changes and was consumed by embryonic culture more than the fat body＇ s. Alkaline phosphatase showed stronger activity in embryonic cells.

Diagenetic signatures in the deltaic and fluvial-estuarine Messinian sandstone reservoirs in the Nile Delta as a tool for high-resolution stratigraphic correlations

The current study utilizes a range of diagenetic fingerprints to differentiate between sandstone facies deposited in the Nile Delta before and during the Messinian salinity crisis(MSC), which is normally a challenging task considering the complex bio-and lithostratigraphic subdivisions of Messinian rock units. Subaerial exposure of the pre-MSC(Qawasim deltaic sandstone), during drawdown of the Mediterranean Sea at the time of the MSC, triggered pervasive dissolution of unstable rock fragments, kaolinization of feldspar, and meteoric dolomitization of carbonate. This was followed by mesogenetic calcite cementation and kaolinite transformation into dickite in deeply buried Qawasim sandstone. Comparatively, the Abu madi estuarine facies, deposited during transgression after drawdown related to the MSC,is characterized by eogenetic iron(Fe)-calcite, glauconite, and pyrite(averages of 14.5%, 6%, and 2%,respectively). This facies transition is marked by abundance of mature glauconite(with potassium oxide(K2O) at about 8%) whose content abates upward from the transgression surface. Moreover, the compositional variability of the Abu madi sandstone gave rise to multiple diagenetic trajectories that resulted in chlorite formation presumably following smectite and kaolinite. Listed diagenetic variations in the studied Messinian sandstone resulted from a complex interplay between rocks’ compositional,depositional, and burial attributes, ultimately serving as a basis for high-resolution stratigraphic correlation in continental and marginal marine settings with poor biostratigraphic controls.

In the last decade, the phosphate reserves have started to decrease. In this study, both phosphate of Oum El Khacheb's(O.E.K) region(South of Tunisia) and its big rejections were characterized mineralogically and chemically by several analysis methods such as the binocular magnifying glass, X-rays diffraction technique, Technicon auto-analyzer, atomic absorption spectroscopy, and carbon sulfur analyzer. Then,this work focuses on the coarse rejections of O.E.K's phosphorites which can be valorized by the wet grinding method. Therefore, we have used the methodology of experimental research to determine the optimal grinding conditions. Results found by Doelhert matrix are: a duration at about 4 min, a pulp on solid concentration of 45.00%, a number of cycles equals to 60 rpm and 3.87 as the jar's *** enhancement of the weight yields of phosphate recuperation increased significantly by 46.39% from big rejections with 24.60% of P_2O_5 concentration.
