本文关注都市女性在家庭生活中的亲环境行动。以中国都市女性的日常照料实践为抓手，本文试图理解日常的、非正式的家庭环境行动，探寻女性在日常生活情境中的环保能动性。通过分析生活在上海和北京的40名22-70岁女性的深度访谈资料，本文发现，女性主导的城市家庭日常照料具有丰富的环境意涵，主要包括感知环境风险、应对环境污染、适应环境变化、学习环境知识和践行环境保护。家庭日常照料的环境意涵折射出一个观点多元、积极活跃、具有环境敏感性的当代中国女性群体形象。本文进一步指出，女性的环境敏感虽然部分源于社会性别规范，但是在照料的过程中，一些女性展示出对传统性/性别规范的反思以及重新塑造个体、家庭与环境之间关系的能力。这些研究发现证明了采用照料视角理解日常环境行动的必要性，也有助于进一步理解中国式现代化进程中的环境保护与妇女参与的议题。

Sleep is an essential behavior that is conserved in most animal species. Two molecular mechanisms regulate sleep： circadian clocks for the timing of sleep, and a homeostatic process for the amount of sleep [1]. The fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, exhibits robust sleep behavior and serves as an excellent model in which to study the neuronal and molecular mechanisms of sleep.

The Spinifex hopping mouse(Notomys alexis Thomas,1922)is an arid adapted Australo–Papuan old endemic rodent that undergoes boom and bust population *** this communication,we review our findings on the timing of reproduction and the potential reproductive rate of this *** investigate the first question,the reproductive condition of adult females,and occurrence of immatures,in a population on a cattle station in central Australia was determined and,for the second,data from a laboratory colony compared to those previously published on closely related species in other *** findings show that,at least in the population at the times that monitoring was performed,reproductive activity was only taking place in spring and early summer,whereas the laboratory study indicates that females have a similar gestation length and litter size to those of most close relatives occurring in other *** have extremely small testes and store relatively few *** findings suggest that Notomys alexis might show some seasonality of reproduction at least in this region of central Australia and that this species does not have a higher reproductive rate than that of related species in other,more predictable,environments.

Zooplankton communities are an essential component of marine and freshwater food webs. However, there is still a relative lack of information on how these organisms behaviourally respond to a range of abiotic and biotic stressors. Specifically, the behaviour of the cladoceran D aphniopsis australis, a species endemic to South-eastern Australian saline lakes and ponds, is still unknown despite its potential role in the structure and function of inland water ecosystems. The swimming behaviour of males, parthenogenetic females and epiphial females was investigated under various conditions and combinations of food and conspecific cues. In the absence of cues, males displayed the most extensive swimming behaviour, exploring all areas of the container, and swimming in a series of relatively straight trajectories. In contrast, females typically exhibited a hop-and-sink motion characterised by the alternation between short bursts of swimming and sinking phases. Both females spent long periods near the bottom of the container, but epiphial females appeared to be more active than parthenogenetic ones that rarely made an excursion in the water column. In the presence of cues, males and females showed abilities to detect infochemicals from food and conspecifics, but exhibited specific behavioural strategies. Males essentially increased their swimming speed in the presence of food and/or conspecific infochemicals, and this increase was independent on the source of the cues, i.e. food, conspecific or a mixture of food and conspecifics. In contrast, females exhibited cue hierarchies that were related to their sexual status. Parthenogenetic females swam faster in the presence of food and a mixture of food and conspecific infochemicals than in the presence of cue from the opposite sex, which did not significantly differ from control observations conducted in the absence of cues. It is know from literature that small additions(<1 wt%)of Ca,Al and Zn significantly improve the intrinsic ductility of *** exact role of each element,both qualitatively and quantitatively,and their combined effects,however,are poorly *** we achieved a much clearer view on the quantitative role of each element with respect to ductility improvement and on the collaborative effect,particularly of Ca and Zn in *** of our findings and conclusions are in disagreement with data and interpretation found in *** different alloys,namely,Mg-0.1 Ca,Mg-0.1 Ca-1 Al,Mg-0.05 Ca-1 Al,Mg-0.1 Ca-2 Al-1 Zn(all are in wt%)were selected for this *** alloys were treated such that *** grain sizes and textures were *** largely excludes the effect of extrinsic factors on ***-guided slip trace analyses reveal that the addition of Ca eases activation of prismatic and pyramidal II slip *** in-situ deformation experiments in SEM and atom probe tomography observations of grain boundaries direct evidence is given for the individual and synergetic effects of Ca and Zn on grain boundary cohesion as an important contribution to improve the ductility of these *** conclude that Ca reduces the slip anisotropy and ameliorates ductility,however,the weak grain boundary cohesion in the Mg-0.1 wt%Ca alloy limits the material’s tensile *** addition of Zn alters the Ca segregation at the grain boundaries and helps to retain their cohesive strength,an effect which thus enables higher ductility and *** further addition of Al primarily improves the *** results show that the balanced influence of reduced slip anisotropy on the one hand and increased grain boundary cohesion on the other hand allow to design a high strength high ductility rare-earth free Mg alloy.

This study reports on the low temperature tolerance and cold hardiness of larvae of false codling moth, Thaumatotibia leucotreta. We found that larvae have mean critical thermal minima （lower limits of activity） of 6.7℃ which was influenced by feeding status. The effects of low temperature exposure and duration of exposure on larval survival were assessed and showed that the temperature at which 50% of the population survives is -11.5 ± 0.3℃ after 2 h exposure. The supercooling point （SCP, i.e., freezing temperature） was investigated using a range of cooling rates and under different conditions （feeding and hydration status） and using inoculative freezing treatments （in contact with water or orange juice）. The SCP decreased significantly from -15.6℃ to -17.4℃ after larvae were fasted for 24 h. Twenty-four hour treatments at either high or low relative humidity （95.9% or 2.4%） also significantly decreased SCP to -17.2℃ and -18.2℃ respectively. Inoculative freezing （by water contact） raised SCP from -15.6℃ to -6.8℃ which could have important implications for post-harvest sterilization. Cooling rates did not affect SCP which suggests that there is limited phenotypic plasticity of SCP during the larval life-stage, at least over the short time-scales investigated here. In conclusion, larvae of T. leucotreta are chill-susceptible and die upon freezing. These results are important in understanding this pest＇s response to temperature variation, understanding pest risk status and improving post-harvest sterilization efficacy
