HOGG1 polymorphism in atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer after Helicobacter pylori eradication

AIM:To investigate the association between Ser326Cys human oxoguanine glycosylase 1(hOGG1) polymorphism and atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer after Helicobacter pylori(***) ***:A total of 488 subjects(73 patients with gastric cancer,160 with atrophic gastritis after *** eradication and 255 controls) were prospectively *** chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis was performed to distinguish hOGG1 Ser326Cys *** analysis was conducted by two-sample t test for continuous variables and χ2 test for categorical *** regression models were used to f ind the risk factors for gastric cancer and atrophic ***:Neither the hOGG1 Ser/Cys nor the Cys/Cys genotype was associated with gastric *** with the Ser/Ser genotype,odds ratio(OR) for Ser/Cys was 0.96,(95% CI:0.51-1.84) and OR for Cys/Cys was 1.1(95% CI:0.48-2.1).No association was detected between hOGG1 polymorphism and Lauren type of gastric cancer(P=0.61) ***,Ser/Cys and Cys/Cys were signif icantly associated with atrophic gastritis with OR:1.76 for Ser/Cys(95% CI:1.03-3.0) and 2.38 for Cys/Cys(95% CI:1.34-4.23).After controlling for age,gender,smoking and alcohol,there were still signif icant associations with OR:2.05 for Ser/Cys(95% CI:1.14-3.68) and 2.76 for Cys/Cys(95% CI:1.47-5.18).CONCLUSION:HOGG1 polymorphisms(Cys/Cys and Ser/Cys) are associated with atrophic *** significant association is detected between hOGG1 polymorphisms(Cys/Cys or Ser/Cys) and gastric cancer.

The importance of data assimilation components for initial conditions and subsequent error growth

Despite a specific data assimilation method,data assimilation(DA)in general can be decomposed into components of the prior information,observation forward operator that is given by the observation type,observation error covariances,and background error *** a classic Lorenz model,the influences of the DA components on the initial conditions(ICs)and subsequent forecasts are systematically investigated,which could provide a theoretical basis for the design of DA for different scales of *** forecast errors undergo three typical stages:a slow growth stage from 0 h to 5 d,a fast growth stage from 5 d to around 15 d with significantly different error growth rates for ensemble and deterministic forecasts,and a saturation stage after 15 *** strategies that provide more accurate ICs can improve the *** assimilation is superior to offline assimilation,and a flow-dependent background error covariance matrix(Pf)provides better analyses than a static background error covariance matrix(B)for instantaneous observations and frequent time-averaged observations;but the opposite is true for infrequent time-averaged observations,since cycling simulation cannot construct informative priors when the model lacks predictive skills and the flow-dependent Pf cannot effectively extract information from low-informative observations as the static *** observations contain more information than time-averaged observations,thus the former is preferred,especially for infrequent observing ***,ensemble forecasts have advantages over deterministic forecasts,and the advantages are enlarged with less informative observations and lower predictive-skill model priors.

Gaining an understanding of the growth mechanism from single atoms to clusters and bulk materials continues to present a ***,it is important to explore the evolving trends of clusters in the structure and properties during the size *** this work,we report the synthesis and characterization of two medium-sized chain-like polyarsenic anions.[As_(21)]^(3-)represents a trimeric example of polyarsenic anion assembled through oxidative coupling of As_(7)^(3-)*** anion As_(18)^(4-)included in[As_(18)MO_(2)(CO)_(8)]^(4-)is regarded as formed by two realgar-type As_(8)subunits connected by a dinuclear AsAs *** As_(18)cluster was previously predicted by theory,and this is the first time successfully synthesized using wet chemistry ***,small-sized polyarsenides As_(2)^(2-)and As_(10)^(2-)were found in compound[K(18-crown-6)]_(3)[As_(10)]_(0.5)[As_(4){Mo(CO)_(3)}_(2)]_(0.5)·*** these,the former exhibits coordination with metal ***-crystal X-ray diffraction combined with quantum chemical calculations revealed the formation of double bonded As_(2)^(2-)stabilized by metal carbonyl *** work demonstrates a novel synthetic approach for the preparation of new polyarsenides and highlights their intriguing bonding characteristics,laying the foundation for the synthesis of such compounds and paving the way for their potential applications.

Structural energy storage composites based on modified carbon fiber electrode with metal-organic frame enhancing layered double hydroxide

Structural energy storage composites present advantages in simultaneously achieving structural strength and electrochemical *** of carbon fiber electrodes and resin structural electrolytes in energy storage composite poses challenges in maintaining good mechanical and electrochemical properties at reasonable cost and ***,we report a simple method to fabricate structural supercapacitor using carbon fiber electrodes(modified by Ni-layered double hydroxide(Ni-LDH)and in-situ growth of Co-metal-organic framework(Co-MOF)in a two-step process denoted as Co-MOF/Ni-LDH@CF)and bicontinuous-phase epoxy resin-based structural ***-MOF/Ni-LDH@CF as electrode material exhibits improved specific capacity(42.45 F·g^(-1))and cycle performance(93.3%capacity retention after 1000 cycles)in a three-electrode *** bicontinuous-phase epoxy resin-based structural electrolyte exhibits an ionic conductivity of 3.27×10^(-4) S·cm^(-1).The fabricated Co-MOF/Ni-LDH@CF/SPE-50 structural supercapacitor has an energy density of 3.21 Wh·kg^(-1) at a power density of 42.25 W·kg^(-1),whilst maintaining tensile strength and modulus of 334.6 MPa and 25.2 *** results show practical potential of employing modified commercial carbon fiber electrodes and epoxy resin-based structural electrolytes in structural energy storage applications.

Prediction of suitable water content in granulation of sintering mixture based on Litster's model

Suitable water content plays a decisive role in the granulation of sintering ***,a method was proposed to predict the suitable water content for effective granulation on the basis of Litster's granulation *** granulation effectiveness of a sintering mixture was predicted by the model,with the allowance error of±10%.The effects of the water absorption properties,particle size composition and content of adhesive particles on the suitable water content were *** results showed that the allowable error of prediction was within±0.5%compared to the experimentally determined suitable water *** an increase in adhesive powder content of mixtures with higher water absorption,the suitable water content increased to achieve similar granulation ***,as the amount of concentrates increased,the suitable water content first increased and then remained *** influence of the water absorption characteristics of the adhesive particles on the suitable water content was less than that of their particle size composition in the mixture.

Theoretical model of azimuthal combustion instability subject to non-trivial boundary conditions

The problem of evaluating the sensitivity of non-trivial boundary conditions to the onset of azimuthal combustion instability is a longstanding challenge in the development process of mod-ern gas *** difficulty lies in how to describe three-dimensional in-and outlet boundary conditions in an artificial computational *** date,the existing analytical models have still failed to quantitatively explain why the features of the azimuthal combustion instability of a com-bustor in laboratory environment are quite different from that in a real gas turbine,making the sta-bility control devices developed in laboratory generally lose the effectiveness in practical *** overcome this limitation,we provide a novel theoretical framework to directly include the effect of non-trivial boundary conditions on the azimuthal combustion instability.A key step is to take the non-trivial boundary conditions as equivalent distributed sources so as to uniformly describe the physical characteristics of the inner surface in an annular enclosure along with different in-and outlet ***,a dispersion relation equation is established by the application of three-dimensional Green's function approach and generalized impedance *** show that the effects of the generalized modal reflection coefficients on azimuthal unstable modes are extremely prominent,and even prompt the transition from stable to unstable mode,thus reasonably explaining why the thermoacoustic instability phenomena in a real gas tur-bine are difficult to observe in an isolated combustion ***,this work provides an effective tool for analysis of the azimuthal combustion instability including various complicated boundary conditions.

Cu,N codoped carbon nanosheets encapsulating ultrasmall Cu nanoparticles for enhancing selective 1,2-propanediol oxidation

In the selective oxidation of biomass-based 1,2-propanediol(PDO)with oxygen as the terminal oxidant,it is challenging to improve the lactic acid(LA)selectivity for nonnoble metal nanoparticles(NPs)due to their limited oxygen reduction rate and easy C-C *** the high economic feasibility of nonnoble metals,i.e.,Cu,in this work,copper and nitrogen codoped porous carbon nanosheets encapsulating ultrafine Cu nanoparticles(Cu@Cu-N-C)were developed to realize highly selective of PDO oxidation to *** carbon-encapsulated ultrasmall Cu^(0)NPs in Cu@Cu-N-C have high PDO dehydrogenation activity while N-coordinated Cu(Cu-N)sites are responsible for the high oxygen reduction ***,the performance of catalytic PDO conversion to LA is optimized by a proposed pathway of PDO→hydroxylacetone→lactaldehyde→***,the enhanced LA selectivity is 88.5%,and the PDO conversion is up to 75.1%in an O_(2)-pressurized reaction system(1.0 MPa O_(2)),superior to other Cu-based catalysts,while in a milder nonpressurized system(O_(2)flow rate of 100 mL min-1),a remarkable LA selectivity(94.2%)is obtained with 39.8%PDO conversion,2.2 times higher than that of supported Au nanoparticles(1%Au/C).Moreover,carbon encapsulation offers Cu@Cu-N-C with strong leaching resistance for better recycling.
