Co-crystallization of glycine anhydride with the hydroxybenzoic acids: Controlled formation of dimers via synthons cooperation and structural characterization

The results of crystallographic analyses on 1：1 and 1：4 well-defined co-crystals formed between glycine anhydride and each of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and 3,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid are described. Neutral molecules are connected via heteromeric O-H.-.O and N-H…O contacts leading to different packing arrangements of supramolecular chains. On the basis of the molec- ular structures of glycine anhydride and carboxylic acid guests, the hydrogen bonds are arranged to give centrosymmetric synthons V and VII which are noteworthy for their robustness. Hydrogen-bond interactions between glycine anhydride and aromatic acid provide sufficient driving force to direct molecular recognition and crystal packing. Utilization of the orientation of functional groups of the building blocks, the acidity, and weak interactions provides a route for the creation of novel supra- molecular architectures in the crystal lattice. Both two co-crystals contain the expected hydrogen-bonded motifs, and there has been no proton transfer from either of the two carboxylic acids to the aza compound moiety. This demonstrates that glycine anhydride is very capable of affecting the construction of binary co-crystals in a predictable and rationale manner. It is noted that synthons Ⅷ and IX are fairly large, but the real challenge in crystal engineering is to find a big enough synthon that occurs often enough. Thermal stability of these compounds has been investigated by thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） of mass loss.

A novel Eu^(3+)-doped phosphor-in-glass for WLEDs and the effect of borophosphate matrix

Phosphor-in-glass(PiG)is a potential color convertor for high power WLEDs.A novel glass matrix with advanced performance is still a ***,Eu^(3+)doped glass matrix has attracted much consideration mainly due to its red compensation.A new borophosphate matrix to realize Eu^(3+)red light was designed in the Na_(2)O-ZnO-P_(2)O_(5)-B_(2)O_(3)-Eu_(2)O_(3)***,a series of PiGs composed of different concentrations of y3Al5O12:Ce phosphor and the matrix were also fabricated by *** crystallization of Eu^(3+)based phosphate offers a novel red emission quenching apart from normal concentration quenching in the glass *** direct energy transfer but only little reabso rption occurs between Eu^(3+)and Ce^(3+)*** Ce^(3+)concentration effect is obvious on the electroluminescent *** optimized color rendering index of 79.7,the CIE coordinates near natural white and the range of CCT from 3943 to 6097 K were obtained for the packaged white light emitting diodes(WLEDs)together with the excellent CCT stability higher than about 97.5%and the quadruple thermal conductivity than that of silicon *** work implies borophosphate glass based PiGs with fine transparence and energy conversion efficiency are promising for excellent WLEDs,while the LED by using the PiG sample without any yellow phosphor doped is of high color purity and has a potential use as the 465 nm blue source.

ACTIVATION OF AB_2 TyPE Zr-BASED HyDRIDE ELECTRODES

The effect of La alloy.ng on the crystalline characteristics, electrochemical capacity and activity of AB2 type Zr-Cr-Ni hydride electrodes was investigated. It was found that La alloy.ng was able to shorten the activating process from 15 cycles of La-free alloy to 2 cycles, and that the main phase shifts from C14 to C15 by XRD analysis. It may be attributed to the modification of surface chemical states and change in internal microstructures. However, the cycling stability was also found to degrade severely for La-containing hydride electrode because of the collapse of its distorted lattice.

The Approximation Properties Determined by Operator Ideals

We introduce the notion of the right approximation property with respect to an operator ideal A and solve the duality problem for the approximation property with respect to an operator ideal ,4, that is, a Banach space X has the approximation property with respect to Ad whenever X＊ has the right approximation property with respect to an operator ideal A. The notions of the left bounded approximation property and the left weak bounded approximation property for a Banach operator ideal are introduced and new symmetric results are obtained. Finally, the notions of the p-compact sets and the p-approximation property are extended to arbitrary Banach operator ideals. Known results of the approximation property with respect to an operator ideal and the p-approximation property are generalized.

The deep-level traps induced by charged defects at the grain boundaries(GBs)of polycrystalline organic-inorganic halide perovskite(OIHP)films serve as major recombination centres,which limit the device ***,we incorporate specially designed poly(3-aminothiophenol)-coated gold(Au@PAT)nanoparticles into the perovskite absorber,in order to examine the influence of plasmonic resonance on carrier dynamics in perovskite solar *** changes in the photophysical properties of the OIHP films reveal that plasmon excitation could fill trap sites at the GB region through photo-brightening,whereas transient absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations correlate this photo-brightening of trap states with plasmon-induced interfacial *** a result,the device achieved the best efficiency of 22.0%with robust operational *** work provides unambiguous evidence for plasmon-induced trap occupation in OIHP and reveals that plasmonic nanostructures may be one type of efficient additives to overcome the recombination losses in perovskite solar cells and thin-film solar cells in general.

In this paper,we firstly verify that if Mn is an n-dimensional complete self-shrinker with polynomial volume growth in Rn+1,and if the squared norm of the second fundamental form of M satisfies 0≤S-1≤1/18,then S≡1 and M is a round sphere or a *** generally,let M be a complete λ-hypersurface of codimension one with polynomial volume growth in Rn+1 with λ≠*** we prove that there exists a positive constant γ,such that if |λ|≤γ and the squared norm of the second fundamental form of M satisfies0≤S-βλ≤1/18,then S≡βλ,λ> 0 and M is a *** βλ=1/2(2+λ2+|λ|(λ2+4)1/2).

Progranulin promotes neurite outgrowth and neuronal differentiation by regulating GSK-3β

Progranulin(PGRN)has recently emerged as a key player in a subset of frontotemporal dementias(FTD).Numerous mutations in the progranulin gene have been identified in patients with familial or sporadic frontotemporal lobar degeneration(FTLD).In order to understand the molecular mechanisms by which PGRN deficiency leads to FTLD,we examined activity of PGRN in mouse cortical and hippocampal neurons and in human neuroblastoma SH-Sy5y *** of mouse neurons with PGRN protein resulted in an increase in neurite outgrowth,supporting the role of PGRN as a neurotrophic *** treatment stimulated phosphorylation of glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta(GSK-3β)in cultured *** of PGRN in SH-Sy5y cells impaired retinoic acid induced differentiation and reduced the level of phosphorylated GSK-3β.PGRN knockdown cells were also more sensitized to staurosporineinduced *** results reveal an important role of PGRN in neurite outgrowth and involvement of GSK-3βin mediating PGRN *** of GSK-3βactivation as a downstream event for PGRN signaling provides a mechanistic explanation for PGRN activity in the nervous *** work also suggest that loss of axonal growth stimulation during neural injury repair or deficits in axonal repair may contribute to neuronal damage or axonal loss in FTLD associated with PGRN ***,our study suggests that modulating GSK-3βor similar signaling events may provide therapeutic benefits for FTLD cases associated with PGRN mutations.
