We report the results of ^12CO of Ultra-Compact （UC） HII regions with and ^13CO J=1-0 observations of eight candidates the Purple Mountain Observatory （PMO） Qinghai 13.7 -m telescope, which resulted in revealing 11 molecular cores. Their masses range from 130 to 1.7 × 10^4 M⊙, with different spatial scales （1 - 6 pc）. Also presented are the relevant HCO＋ j=1-0 maps, which enabled us to investigate more detailed structures of these cores. Further comparisons show that four of the cores deviated from the centers of infrared （MIR） emission of Midcourse Space Experiment （MSX）, while others correspond either to bright MIR sources or diffuse MIR background. This indicates various evolutionary phases of the cores, including quite early ones for those without MIR sources.

Population exposure to pollutants is important for studies on the exposure-response relationship. However, it is difficult to evaluate population exposure to non-conventional pollutants due to limited data on concentration levels and the movement patterns of inhabitants. In this study, an air dispersion model was used to simulate N, N-dimethylformarnide （DMF） concentrations, as a proxy to monitoring concentrations. A total of 1289 randomly selected household representatives were surveyed to obtain information on movement characteristics. Subsequently, population movement patterns were combined with DMF concentration levels on maps of 100 m× 100 m resolution to calculate population exposure. During 2008, the estimated population exposure to DMF ranged from 0.002 to 0.64 mg/m^3. The highest level of population exposure to DMF was found in the north and northwest sub-districts of the study area, ranging from 0.42 to 0.64 mg/m^3. The population exposure to DMF for different occupational groups indicated that retired people and farmers were vulnerable subpopulations among people highly exposed to DME This was mainly because they spent most time at home where the DMF concentration was high. As pollutant concentrations were divided into small grids, we found that exposure levels were substantially impacted by population movement characteristics.

Population Size, Genetic Diversity and Molecular Evidence of a Recent Population Bottleneck in Hynobius chinensis, an Endangered Salamander Species

Severe population declines can reduce species to small populations, offering permissive conditions for deleterious processes. For example, following such events, species can become prone to inbreeding and genetic drift which can lead to a loss of genetic diversity and evolutionary potentials. Hynobius chinensis is a poorly studied very rare and declining endangered amphibian species endemic to China in Changyang County. We investigated adult census population size by monitoring breeding populations from 2015 to 2018, developed microsatellite markers from the transcriptome and used them to investigate genetic diversity, and a population bottleneck in this species. We found H. chinensis in 4 different localities in a total area of 2.18 km^2 and estimated the overall adult census population size at 386–404 individuals. The adult census size（mean ± SE） per breeding pond ranged from 44 ± 6 to 141 ± 8 individuals and appeared smaller than that reported in closely related species in undisturbed habitats. We developed and characterized 13 microsatellite markers in total. Analysis of data at 7 loci（N = 118） in Hardy-weinberg equilibrium gathered from the largest population showed that genetic diversity level was low. The average number of alleles per locus was 2.14. The observed and expected heterozygosities averaged 0.38 and 0.40, respectively. The inbreeding coefficient was –0.06. All tests performed to investigate a population bottleneck, i.e. The Garza-Williamson test, Heterozygosity excess test, Mode shift test of allele frequency, and effective population size estimates detected a population bottleneck. The contemporary and the historical effective population sizes were estimated at 36 and 234 individuals, respectively. We argue that as bottleneck effects, the studied population may have become prone to genetic drift and inbreeding, losing microsatellite alleles and heterozygosity. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of IR-61,a novel mitochondrial heptamethine cyanine dye with antioxidant effects,on diabetes mellitus-induced erectile dysfunction(DMED).Eight-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were intraperitoneally injected with streptozotocin(STZ)to induce type 1 *** weeks after STZ injection,all rats were divided into three groups:the control group,DM group,and DM+IR-61 *** the DM+IR-61 group,the rats were administered IR-61(1.6 mg kg-1)twice a week by intravenous *** week 13,erectile function was evaluated by determining the ratio of the maximal intracavernous pressure to mean arterial pressure,and the penises were then harvested for fluorescent imaging,transmission electron microscopy,histological examinations,and Western blot ***-body imaging suggested that IR-61 was highly accumulated in the penis after intravenous ***-61 treatment significantly improved the maximal ICP of diabetic ***,IR-61 ameliorated diabetes-induced inflammation,apoptosis,and phenotypic transition of corpus cavernosum smooth muscle cells(CCSMCs)in penile ***-61 also attenuated mitochondrial damage,reduced reactive oxygen species production in the corpus cavernosum and upregulated sirtuinl(SIRT1),sirtuin3(SIRT3),nuclear factor(erythroid-derived 2)-like 2(Nrf2),and heme oxygenase expression in penile *** conclusion,IR-61 represents a potential therapeutic option for DMED by protecting the mitochondria of CCSMCs,which may be mediated by activation of the SIRT1,SIRT3,and Nrf2 pathways.

The threshold voltage(V_(th))of the p-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors(MOSFETs)is investigated via Silvaco-Atlas *** main factors which influence the threshold voltage of p-channel GaN MOSFETs are barrier heightΦ_(1,p),polarization charge density σ_(b),and equivalent unite capacitance C_(oc).It is found that the thinner thickness of p-GaN layer and oxide layer will acquire the more negative threshold voltage V_(th),and threshold voltage|V_(th)|increases with the reduction in p-GaN doping concentration and the work-function of gate ***,the increase in gate dielectric relative permittivity may cause the increase in threshold voltage|V_(th)|.Additionally,the parameter influencing output current most is the p-GaN doping concentration,and the maximum current density is 9.5 mA/mm with p-type doping concentration of 9.5×10^(16) cm^(-3) at VGS=-12 V and VDS=-10 V.

Effectiveness of Liu-zi-jue exercise on coronavirus disease 2019 in the patients: a randomized controlled trial

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of Liu-zi-jue exercise on the respiratory symptoms, quality of life, and mental health of patients with mild coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19). METHODS: A single-center randomized controlled trial was conducted with 104 patients with mild COVID-19. The patients were randomly assigned to the Liu-zi-jue plus conventional therapy group and conventional therapy group. The outcome measures included Modified Borg Dyspnea Scale(MBDS) score, Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9) score, Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14), respiratory symptoms, and vital signs. Data were collected on the first and sixth days of hospitalization and on the discharge day. RESULTS: Repeated-measures ANOVA revealed that the whole scales all showed a downward trend in the two groups(all P < 0.05). The results of single-group effect suggested that the whole scale score in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group at the sixth day of hospitalization. Compared with the control group, only the MBDS, expectoration, and FS-14 scores showed significantly lower scores at the discharge day(P < 0.001, P = 0.011, P = 0.002). Comparison within the group showed that all the variables were significantly different at the three time points with a decreasing trend(P < 0.05), except for the PHQ-9 and expectoration scores(P = 0.331, 0.052). All patients’ vital signs remained within a stable normal range throughout the hospital stay. CONCLUSION: The results suggested that Liu-zi-jue exercise as a complementary and alternative therapy showed beneficial effects on improving the symptoms(shortness of breath, fatigue, and cough), quality of life, and mental health of patients with mild COVID-19.

Global inland surface water bodies such as lakes and reservoirs,important components of the hydrosphere and ecosphere,are increasingly affected by climate *** bathymetric volume-areaheight (BVAH) curves for global inland surface water bodies can enhance our understanding of their topography and climate ***,accurately quantifying the topographic patterns of these water bodies remains challenging due to the difficulties in collecting comprehensive bathymetric ***,we collected and processed over 2000 bathymetric maps of global water bodies from over 50 different data sources and then developed the BVAH ***,the BVAH hydrological curves of 16671 global inland surface water bodies (larger than 10 km~2) were *** results include but are not limited to (1) For most targeted water bodies,area (A) and volume (V) exhibit significant power function relationships with surface heights (H),with optimal power values quantified as 1.42 for A and 2.42 for V.(2) The BVAH model outperforms GLOBathy in estimating area and volume changes,achieving higher correlation coefficients (CC) of approximately 0.962 for the area and 0.991 for volume,and demonstrating lower percentages of root mean squared errors (PRMSE) around 10.9% for the area and 4.8% for volume.(3) In the case study of the Xizang Plateau and various large global reservoirs,the BVAH curve database can capture dynamic volume *** a unified simulation of the bathymetric topographical patterns,our bathymetric dataset and corresponding BVAH curve database have great potential to contribute to effective water resource management and ecological conservation efforts worldwide.
