Highly sensitive nanozyme strip:An effective tool for forensic material evidence identification

During criminal case investigations,blood evidence tracing is critical for criminal ***,the blood stains are often cleaned or covered up after the crime,resulting in trace residue and difficult ***,a highly sensitive and specific method for the rapid detection of human blood stains remains *** solve this problem,we established a nanozyme-based strip for rapid detection of blood evidence with high sensitivity and *** construct reliable nanozyme strips,we synthesized CoFe_(2)O_(4) nanozymes with high peroxidase-like activity by scaling up to gram level,which can be supplied for six million tests,and conjugated antibody as a detection probe in nanozyme *** developed CoFe_(2)O_(4) nanozyme strip can detect human hemoglobin(HGB)at a concentration as low as 1 ng/mL,which is 100 times lower than the commercially available colloidal gold strips(100 ng/mL).Moreover,this CoFe_(2)O_(4) nanozyme strip showed high generality on 12 substrates and high specificity to human HGB among 13 animal blood ***,we applied the developed CoFe_(2)O_(4) nanozyme strip to successfully detect blood stains in three real cases,where the current commercial colloidal gold strip failed to *** results suggest that the CoFe_(2)O_(4) nanozyme strip can be used as an effective on-scene detection method for human blood stains,and can further be used as a long-term preserved material evidence for traceability inquiry.

The shuttle effect of polysulfides during the charging and discharging of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries and the growth of Li dendrites are crucial obstacles to hinder the commercialization of Li-S *** engineering is an effective strategy to accelerate catalytic conversion and suppress the dissolution of ***,we report a Ta_(4)C_(3)-Ta_(2)O_(5) heterostructure composite as a bi-functional modified separator that not only achieves effective protection for lithium metal but also accelerates the polysulfides redox kinetics *** heterostructure possesses efficient chemical anchoring and abundant active sites to immobilize polysulfides by synergistic effect,which endows a stable long cycling performance for Li-S *** corresponds to an initial high capacity of 801.9 mAh g^(–1) at 1 C with a decay rate of 0.086%for 500 *** to its high Young’s modulus(up to 384 GPa),Ta_(4)C_(3) contributes to forming a protective layer on the Li metal surface to inhibit the growth of Li ***,the symmetrical cell has a stable overpotential for 700 cycles at 20 mA cm^(–2)/20 mAh cm^(–2).So,this“one stone two birds”design affords a novel perspective for high-energy Li-S battery storage system design and Li metal protection.

Hydrolysis hydrogen production mechanism of Mg10Ni10Ce alloy surface modified by SnO_(2) nanotubes in different aqueous systems

A new Ignition-Growth reaction rate model for shock initiation

Accurately predicting reactive flow is a challenge when characterizing an explosive under external shock stimuli as the shock initiation time is on the order of a *** present study constructs a new Ignition-Growth reaction rate model,which can describe the shock initiation processes of explosives with different initial densities,particle sizes and loading pressures by only one set of model *** with the Lee-Tarver reaction rate model,the new Ignition-Growth reaction rate model describes better the shock initiation process of explosives and requires fewer model ***,the shock initiation of a 2,4-Dinitroanisole(DNAN)-based melt-cast explosive RDA-2(DNAN/HMX(octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazoncine)/aluminum)are investigated both experimentally and numerically.A series of shock initiation experiments is performed with manganin piezoresistive pressure gauges and corresponding numerical simulations are carried out with the new Ignition-Growth reaction rate *** RDA-2 explosive is found to have higher critical initiation pressure and lower shock sensitivity than traditional explosives(such as the Comp.B explosive).The calibrated reaction rate model parameters of RDA-2 could provide numerical basis for its further application.

Uridine diphosphate(UDP)-glucuronosyltransferases(UGTs)are enzymes involved in the biotransformation of important endogenous compounds such as steroids,bile acids,and hormones as well as exogenous substances including drugs,environmental toxicants,and ***,a novel fluorescent probe BDMP was developed based on boron-dipyrromethene(BODIPY)with high sensitivity for the detection of *** glucuronidation of BDMP not only exhibited a redemission wavelength(lex/lem=500/580 nm),but also displayed an excellent UGT1A8-dependent fluorescence signal with a good linear relationship with UGT1A8 *** on this perfect biocompatibility and cell permeability,BDMP was successfully used to image endogenous UGT1A8 in human cancer cell lines(LoVo and HCT15)in real *** addition,BDMP could also be used to visualize UGT1A8 in tumor *** results suggested that BDMP is a promising molecular tool for the investigation of UGT1A8-mediated physiological function in humans.

Extrusion process of 304L H-shaped stainless steel used in passive residual heat removal heat exchanger

304L H-shaped stainless steel is used as the support frame of the passive residual heat removal heat exchanger(PRHR HX) in a nuclear fission reactor. The extrusion process is adopted to manufacture the 304L H-shaped stainless steel. Finite element method simulation is herein used to analyze metal flow characteristics, optimize the extrusion die, and predict the extrusion force at different temperatures and speeds. A Φ400-mm container and Φ388-mm forging billet are selected, and the 304L H-shaped stainless steel is successfully manufactured using a Germany SMS 60 MN horizontal extruder. The mechanical properties and microstructure of the manufactured 304L H-shaped stainless steel meet the requirements of the PRHR HX, and the surfaces of the product pass the dye penetration test. The H-shaped stainless steels are used in Haiyang nuclear power plant in Shandong Province.

Studies have proposed that there is evidence for cosmological coupling of black holes(BHs)with an index of k≈3;hence,BHs serve as the astrophysical source of dark ***,the data sample is limited for the redshifts of≤*** recent years,the James Webb Space Telescope(JWST)has detected many high-redshift active galactic nuclei(AGNs)and *** the JWST NIRSpec-/NIRCam-resolved AGNs,three are determined to be in early-type host galaxies with a redshift of z~***,their M_(*)and MBH are in tension with the predicted cosmological coupling of black holes with k=3 at a confidence level of~2σ,which challenges the hypothesis that BHs serve as the origin of dark *** work on high-redshift AGNs using the JWST will further assess such a hypothesis by identifying more early-type host galaxies in the higher mass range.

Reduced-order output feedback controllers for the robust H^(∞) performance problem

OVER the last decade, the H~∞ control has been recognized as one of the most effective tools for robust control. A lot of researches have been devoted to robust H~∞ problems for uncertain systems. Recently, Zhou et al., presented the notion of strongly robust H~∞ performance, which is an extension of quadratic stability and equivalent to robust H~∞ problem. However. only state-feedback controllers were discussed.

The Extreme Summer Precipitation over East China during 1982-2007 Simulated by the LASG/IAP Regional Climate Model

The extreme summer precipitation over East China during 1982-2007 was simulated using the LASG/IAP regional climate model CREM(the Climate version of a Regional Eta-coordinate Model).The results show that the probability density functions(PDFs) of precipitation intensities are reasonably simulated,except that the PDFs of light and moderate rain are underestimated and that the PDFs of heavy rain are *** extreme precipitation amount(R95p) and the percent contribution of extreme precipitation to the total precipitation(R95pt) are also reasonably reproduced by the ***,the R95p and R95pt over most of East China are generally overestimated,while the R95p along the coastal area of South China(SC) is *** bias of R95pt is consistent with the bias of precipitation intensity on wet days(SDII).The interannual variation for R95p anomalies(PC1) is well simulated,but that of R95pt anomalies(PC2) is poorly *** skill of the model in simulating PC1(PC2) increases(decreases) from north to *** bias of water vapor transport associated with the 95th percentile of summer daily precipitation(WVTr95) explains well the bias of the simulated extreme precipitation.

East China Summer Rainfall during ENSO Decaying Years Simulated by a Regional Climate Model

The performance of the Climate version of the Regional Eta-coordinate Model （CREM）, a regional climate model developed by State Key Laboratory of Numerical modeling for Atmospheric Science and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics/Institute of Atmospheric Physics （LASG/IAP）, in simulating rainfall anomalies during the ENSO decaying summers from 1982 to 2002 was evalu- ated. The added value of rainfall simulation relative to reanalysis data and the sources of model bias were studied. Results showed that the model simulated rainfall anomalies moderately well. The model did well at capturing the above-normal rainfall along the Yangtze River valley （YRV） during E1 Nifio decaying summers and the below and above-normal rainfall centers along the YRV and the Huaihe River valley （HRV）, respectively, during La Nifia decaying summers. These features were not evident in rainfall products derived from the reanalysis, indicating that rainfall simulation did add value. The main limitations of the model were that the simulated rainfall anomalies along the YRV were far stronger and weaker in magnitude than the observations during E1 Nifio decaying summers and La Nifia decaying summers, respectively. The stronger magnitude above-normal rainfall during E1 Nifio decaying summers was due to a stronger northward transport of water vapor in the lower troposphere, mostly from moisture advection. An artificial, above-normal rainfall center was seen in the region north to 35°N, which was associated with stronger northward water vapor transport. Both lower tropospheric circulation bias and a wetter model atmosphere contributed to the bias caused by water vapor transport. There was a stronger southward water vapor transport from the southern boundary of the model during La Nifia decaying summers; less remaining water vapor caused anomalously weaker rainfall in the model as compared to observations.
