Introduction Antibiotic use for acute otitis media(AOM)is one of the major sources of antimicrobial ***,the effective minimal antibiotic duration for AOM remains ***,guidelines often recommend broad ranges(5-10 days)of antibiotic use,yet the clinical impact of such a wide window has not been *** We systematically searched PubMed/MEDLINE,Embase,Scopus,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library from database inception to 6 October *** meta-analysis was conducted on randomized controlled trials that assessed antibiotic treatment for AOM in children(PROSPERO CRD42020196107).Results For amoxicillin and amoxicillin-clavulanate,7-day regimens were noninferior to 10-day regimens in clinical responses[amoxicillin:risk ratio(RR)0.919(95%CI 0.820-1.031),amoxicillin-clavulanate:RR 1.108(0.957-1.282)],except for≤2 *** the third-generation cephalosporins,7-day and 10-day regimens had similar clinical responses compared to placebo[7-day:RR 1.420(1.190-1.694),10-day:RR 1.238(1.125-1.362)compared to placebo].However,5-day regimens of amoxicillin-clavulanate and third-generation cephalosporins were inferior to 10-day *** to amoxicillin,a shorter treatment duration was tolerable with *** Our findings indicated that 1O days of antibiotic use may be unnecessarily long,while the treatment duration should be longer than 5 ***,5-day regimens would be sufficient for a modest treatment *** findings revealed that the current wide range of recommended antibiotic durations may have influenced the clinical outcome of AOM,and a narrower antibiotic duration window should be re-established.

Small coin cell batteries are predominantly used for testing lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)in academia because they require small amounts of material and are easy to ***,insufficient attention is given to difference in cell performance that arises from the differences in format between coin cells used by academic researchers and pouch or cylindrical cells which are used in *** this article,we compare coin cells and pouch cells of different size with exactly the same electrode materials,electrolyte,and electrochemical *** show the battery impedance changes substantially depending on the cell format using techniques including Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS)and Galvanostatic Intermittent Titration Technique(GITT).Using full cell NCA-graphite LIBs,we demonstrate that this difference in impedance has important knock-on effects on the battery rate performance due to ohmic polarization and the battery life time due to Li metal plating on the *** hope this work will help researchers getting a better idea of how small coin cell formats impact the cell performance and help predicting improvements that can be achieved by implementing larger cell formats.

This paper presents a knowledge graph-based approach for the dynamic control of a district heating network with integrated emission dispersion modelling. We propose an interoperable and extensible implementation to forecast the anticipated heat demand of a municipal heating network, minimise associated total generation cost based on a previously devised methodology, and couple it with dispersion simulations for induced airborne pollutants to provide automatic insights into air quality implications of various heat sourcing strategies. We create cross-domain interoperability in the nexus of energy and air quality via newly developed ontologies and semantic software agents, which can be chained together via The World Avatar dynamic knowledge graph to resemble the behaviour of complex systems. Furthermore, we integrate the City Energy Analyst into this ecosystem to provide building-level insights into energy demand and renewable generation potential to foster strategic analyses and scenario planning. Underlying calculations use building and weather data from the knowledge graph in place of inherent assumptions in the official software release, facilitating a more data-driven approach. All use cases are implemented for a mid-size town in Germany as a proof-of-concept, and a unified visualisation interface is provided, allowing for the examination of 3D buildings alongside their corresponding energy demand and supply time series, as well as emission dispersion data. With this work, we outline the potential of Semantic Web technologies to connect digital twins for holistic energy modelling in smart cities, thereby addressing the increasing complexity of interconnected energy systems.

Abstract: Salvianolic acid F (1a) and przewalskinic add A(2a) are phenolic acids isolated from the traditional and herbal Chinese medicines Salvia miltiorrhiza (1) and S. przewalskii (2). The chemical structures of these two compounds represent the main carbon skeletons of the biologically active depsides salvianolicacid A and B isolated from S. miltionhiza (3.4). The present paper reports the synthesis of the methyl ether protected phenolic acids. tetramethyl salvianolic acid F(1b) and trimethyl prsewalskinic acid A(2b).

Investigation on the computation of atomic multipole moments with the modified cumulative potential-derived semiempiricalmethod

The suitability of calculating atomic multipole moments from AM1 wave functions by cumulative potential-derived method has been investigated. It is shown that this method has a faster convergence of the fitting process and gives a better description of the charge distribution than the original PD method. Atomic charges obtained in this way are of comparable quality with 6-31G* data and the calculated dipole moments are closer to the experimental data than the values computed directly from the AM1 charges. The results demonstrate that the atomic multipole moments higher than monopole moment can be used to supplement the atomic charge to obtain a more accurate description of charge distribution. For the sake of comparison, both the Williams fitting potential surface and the Connolly one are used in the calculation.

The interaction between C60 cage and the centerhalogen atoms in endoheoral complexes(HalogenC60)(Halogen=Hal=F,ClBr1),including electro-static interaction,dispersive interection and repulsive interaction,have been calculated by molecular molecular mechanics method combined with the results obtained by quantum-chemical EHMO/ASED method The computational results show that the total interaction is attraction which reduces the endohedral comples system except for,and the electro-static interaction plays a decisive role in the three forms of interactions,reaching up more than 90%. For the endohedral complex the resultant non-bonded interaction is *** is a similar variation trend for the total energy variation of system and the total interaction energy of which the order is (F@C_(60))<(cl@C(60))<(I@C(60)).

The high temperature shape memory alloy Ti51Ni13Pd36 was subjected to a cold working and annealing treatment to improve its mechanical properties and the shape memory effect. It was found that recovery of the cold worked alloys started at near 673 K and the recrystallization temperature was at about 748 K. The grain size decreased with the increase of annealing temperature below 923 K and then increased when above 923 K. The smallest average grain size of about 3.5μm, which is approximately 10 times smaller than the hot rolled one, permitted the best combination of the mechanical properties in the alloy annealed at 923 K for 1h. The cold rolling raised the peak temperature of reverse transformation. This temperature dropped very sharply when the specimen was annealed at temperatures higher than 673 K.

Superconductor mixed oxides were often used as catalysts at higher temperature in gas phase oxidations, and considered not suitable for lower temperature reactions in the liquid-solid phase; here the catalysis of YBa2Cu3O7+/-x and Y2BaCuO5+/-x in the phenol hydroxylation at lower temperature with H2O2 as oxygen donor was studied, and found that the superconductor YBa2Cu3O7+/-x, has no catalytic activity for phenol hydroxylation, but Y2BaCuO5+/-x does, even has better catalytic activity and stability than most previously reported ones. With the studies of catalysis of other simple metal oxides and perovskite-like mixed oxides, a radical substitution mechanism is proposed and the experimental facts are explained clearly, and draw a conclusion that the perovskite-like mixed oxides with (AO)(ABO(3)) and (AO)2(ABO(3)) structure have better catalytic activity than the simple perovskite oxides with (ABO(3))(3) structure alone, and (AO) structure unit is the key for the mixed oxides to have the phenol hydroxylation activity. No pollution of this process is very important for its further industrial application.

This paper looks at how in-process temperature monitoring systems are being increasingly used in heat treatment applications such as surface hardening, annealing, normalizing, tempering etc. We look at the basic equipment required to successfully monitor from within a furnace and how developments such as RF transmission have enhanced the effectiveness of profiling trials to the point where on line adjustments to furnace conditions can be seen and analyzed in real time. We examine how continuous processes can benefit from this type of monitoring and also how routine operations such as furnace surveying in batch furnaces can benefit greatly from in-process monitoring. Advances in software are also considered, showing how packages are now designed to speed up the processing of data in day to day heat treatment operations.
