Objective:To investigate the interrelationship between cardiovascular health awareness,risk perception,behavioural intention,and INTERHEART risk stratification in a m.ddle-aged adult population in ***:A cross-sectional survey with convenience sam.ling was conducted during Novem.er 2022 and January *** com.leted validated questionnaires assessing cardiovascular health awareness,risk perception of cardiovascular diseases,behavioural intention towards adopting healthy habits,and INTERHEART risk stratification score(IHRS)based on established risk factors.A total of 602 respondents were included in the final *** were analysed with independent t-test/one-way ANOVA or m.nn-Whitney/Kruskal-Wallis to test the differences,Pearson correlation or linear regression test to analyze the association of independent and dependent ***:There was a significant positive correlation between m.dical knowledge related to cardiovascular disease(CVD)and knowledge related to CVD risk prevention,risk perception,behavioural intention and IHRS(Pelation).Notably,individuals with higher IHRS tended to have lower knowledge related to CVD and CVD risk prevention,risk perception,and behavioural ***,laborers,active/form.r sm.kers,individuals with lower household incom. and educational levels,those involved in occupations not related to the healthcare sector,and those who did not receive the CVD health brochure or are unaware of health self-assessm.nt tools are likely to have lower levels of knowledge,risk perception,and poorer behavioural intention regarding cardiovascular health(Pel,sm.king status,awareness about CVD poster,self-assessm.nt tools were repeatedly significantly associated with knowledge related to CVD and CVD risk prevention,risk perception,behavioral intention and/or IHRS(Pm.ortance of prom.ting car

Increased β-Cyanoalanine Nitrilase Activity Im.roves Cyanide Tolerance and Assim.lation in Arabidopsis

Plants naturally produce cyanide （CN） which is m.intained at low levels in their cells by a process of rapid assim.lation. However, high concentrations of environm.ntal CN associated with activities such as industrial pollution are toxic to plants. There is thus an interest in increasing the CN detoxification capacity of plants as a potential route to phytorem.diation. Here, Arabidopsis seedlings overexpressing the Pseudom.nas fluorescens β-cyanoalanine nitrilase pinA were com.ared with wild-type and a β-cyanoalanine nitrilase knockout line （△Atnit4） for growth in the presence of exogenous CN. After incubation with CN, ＋PfpinA seedlings had increased root length, increased fresh weight, and decreased leaf bleaching com.ared with wild-type, indicating increased CN tolerance. The increased tolerance was achieved without an increase in β-cyanoalanine synthase activity, the other enzym. in the cyanide assim.lation pathway, suggesting that nitrilase activity is the lim.ting factor for cyanide detoxification. Labeling experim.nts with [^13C] KCN dem.nstrated that the altered CN tolerance could be explained by differences in flux from.CN to Asn caused by altered β-cyanoalanine nitrilase activity. m.tabolite profiling after CN treatm.nt provided new insight into downstream.m.tabolism. revealing onward m.tabolism.of Asn by the photorespiratory nitrogen cycle and accum.lation of arom.tic am.no acids.

The generation of ultrashort high-power light sources in the m.d-infrared(m.d-IR)to terahertz(THz)range is of interest for applications in a num.er of fields,from.fundam.ntal research to biology and *** conventional laser technology,photon deceleration in plasm. wakes provides an alternative approach to the generation of ultrashort m.d-IR or THz ***,we present a photon deceleration schem. for the efficient generation of ultrashort m.d-IR or THz pulses by using an intense driver laser pulse with a relatively short wavelength and a signal laser pulse with a relatively long *** signal pulse trails the driver pulse with an appropriate tim. delay such that it sits at the front of the second wake bubble that is driven by the driver *** to its relatively long wavelength,the signal pulse will be subjected to a large gradient of the refractive index in the plasm. wake ***,the photon deceleration in the plasm. wake becom.s faster and m.re efficient for signal pulses with longer *** greatly enhances the capacity and efficiency of photon deceleration in the generation of ultrashort high-power light sources in the long-wavelength IR and THz spectral ranges.

Objective: Atopic derm.titis(AD) is a chronic inflam.atory skin disease that m.y be linked to changes in the gut m.crobiom.. Acupuncture has been proven to be effective in reducing AD sym.tom. without serious adverse events, but its underlying m.chanism.is not com.letely understood. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the potential effect of acupuncture on AD is gut ***: AD-like skin lesions were induced by applying m.903 topically to the cheek of the *** was done at the Gok-Ji(LI11) acupoints. AD-like sym.tom. were assessed by lesion scores,scratching behavior, and histopathological changes; intestinal barrier function was m.asured by fecal output, serum.lipopolysaccharide levels, histopathological changes, and m.NA expression of m.rkers involved in intestinal perm.ability and inflam.ation. Gut m.crobiota was profiled using 16S rRNA gene sequencing from.fecal ***: Acupuncture effectively im.roved chronic itch as well as the AD-like skin lesions with epiderm.l thickening, and also significantly altered gut m.crobiota structure as revealed by β-diversity indices and analysis of sim.larities. These beneficial effects were elim.nated by antibiotic depletion of gut m.crobiota,but were reproduced in gut m.crobiota-depleted m.ce that received a fecal m.crobiota transplant from.acupuncture-treated m.ce. Interestingly, AD m.ce had intestinal barrier dysfunction as indicated by increased intestinal perm.ability, atrophy of the m.cosal structure(reduced villus height and crypt depth), decreased expression of tight junctions and m.cus synthesis genes, and increased expression of inflam.atory m.diators in the ileum. Hydrogen em.ssion by three wood-feeding subterranean term.te species （Isoptera Rhinoterm.tidae）： Production and characteristics

Hydrogen em.ssion by wood-feeding term.tes, Coptoterm.s form.sanus, Reticuliterm.s flavipes and Reticuliterm.s virginicus, was investigated upon a cellulosic substrate as their food source. The em.ssion rates am.ng the three species tested were significantly different and R. virginicus dem.nstrated the greatest H2 em.ssion at 4.78 ± 0.15μm.l/h/g body weight. In a sealed test apparatus, H2 em.ssion for each term.te species showed a quick increase at the initial incubation hours （3-6 h）, followed by a slower growth, possibly due to the feedback inhibition by gas accum.lation. Further investigation revealed that continuous H2 em.ssion could be m.intained by reducing the H2 partial pressure in the sealed container. The bioconversion of cellulose to m.lecular H2 by the subterranean term.tes tested could reach as high as 3 858 ± 294μm.l/g cellulose, suggesting that the term.te gut system.is unique and efficient in H2 conversion from.cellulosic substrate.

Novel Sources of aus Rice for Zinc Deficiency Tolerance Identified Through Association Analysis Using High-Density SNP Array

Zinc （Zn） deficiency is a m.jor soil constraint lim.ting rice crop growth and yield, yet the genetic control of tolerance m.chanism. is still poorly understood. Here, we presented prom.sing loci and candidate genes conferring tolerance to Zn deficiency and identified through association analysis using a 365 K single nucleotide polym.rphism.（SNP） m.rker array in a diverse aus （sem.-wild type rice） panel. Tolerant accessions exhibited higher growth rate with relatively rare stress sym.tom.. Two loci on chrom.som.s 7 and 9 were strongly associated with plant vigor under Zn deficiency at a peak-stress stage. Based on previous m.croarray data from.the sam. experim.ntal plots, we highlighted four candidate genes whose expressions were accom.anied by significant genotype and/or environm.nt effects under Zn deficiency. Network-gene ontology supported known tolerance m.chanism., such as ascorbic acid pathway, and also suggested the im.ortance of photosynthesis genes to overcom. Zn deficiency sym.tom..
