通过比较城乡早孕妇女血清同型半胱氨酸（Ｈｃｙ）、叶酸和维生素Ｂ１２水平，探讨Ｈｃｙ代谢与神经管畸形城乡差异的关系。随机抽取北京地区早孕妇女血清库中４１１份血清（城市１９５份，乡村２１６份），用高效液相色谱结合电化学方法检测血清中Ｈｃｙ浓度，放射免疫方法检测叶酸和维生素Ｂ１２浓度。结果：乡村孕妇Ｈｃｙ平均水平明显高于城市，分别为９．３１μｍｏｌ／Ｌ和５．７３μｍｏｌ／Ｌ；Ｂ１２水平则低于城市，分别为２１０．０９ｐｍｏｌ／Ｌ和２３３．３５ｐｍｏｌ／Ｌ，叶酸水平虽高于城市，但叶酸缺乏率的差异不显著。乡村孕妇的叶酸／Ｈｃｙ和Ｂ１２／Ｈｃｙ值均显著低于城市孕妇。提示Ｈｃｙ代谢异常与乡村神经管畸形高发有关。

探讨升高的同型半胱氨酸水平、ＭＴＨＦＲ基因突变与原发性高血压的关系。方法：从上海一个社区中随机选取１２７例３５～７５岁的原发性高血压病人和１７０例正常血压者。采用聚合酶链反应－限制性片段长度多态性分析ＭＴＨＦＲ基因多态性。使用高效液相色谱结合电化学方法检测血清中同型半胱氨酸总浓度，使用放射免疫法同时测定血清中叶酸和Ｂ_（１２）浓度。结果：调整年龄和性别后，病例和对照组同型半胱氨酸水平分别为１０．５６ μｍｏｌ／Ｌ和１０．３４ μｍｏｌ／Ｌ，差异无显著性（Ｐ＝０．６３）。在未服降压药的对象中同型半胱氨酸浓度与收缩压和舒张压亦无关联。该人群ＭＴＨＦＲ不耐热性基因突变频率为１３．１％，突变等位基因频率为３８．７％。病例组与对照组基因型分布和突变等位基因频率无显著性差异。然而，病例组叶酸和Ｂ_（１２）浓度高于对照组。结论：本研究未发现升高的同型半胱氨酸水平、ＭＴＨＦＲ基因突变是原发性高血压的独立危险因素。高血压病人较高的叶酸和Ｂ_（１２）水平可能降低了同型半胱氨酸的危险性。

In clinical therapy,the amount of antigen administered to achieve oral tolerance for allergic diseases is large,and the cost is a major *** this study,we used tobacco plants to develop a large-scale protein production system for allergen-specific immunotherapy,and we investigated the mechanisms of oral tolerance induced by a transgenic plant-derived *** used plants(tobacco leaves)transgenic for the Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus 2(Der p2)antigen to produce Der *** received total protein extract from Der p2 orally once per day over 6 days(days 0–2 and days 6–8).Mice were also sensitized and challenged with yeast-derived recombinant Der p2(rDer p2),after which the mice were examined for airway hyper-responsiveness and airway *** sensitization and challenge with rDer p2,mice that were fed with total protein extracted from transgenic plants showed decreases in serum Der p2-specific IgE and IgG1 titers,decreased IL-5 and eotaxin levels in bronchial alveolar lavage fluid,and eosinophil infiltration in the *** addition,hyper-responsiveness was also decreased in mice that were fed with total protein extracted from transgenic plants,and CD4^(+)CD25^(+)Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cells were significantly increased in mediastinal and mesenteric lymph ***,splenocytes isolated from transgenic plant protein-fed mice exhibited decreased proliferation and increased IL-10 secretion after stimulation with rDer *** data here suggest that allergen-expressing transgenic plants could be used for therapeutic purposes for allergic diseases.

A Miniaturized Tadpole Robot Using an Electromagnetic Oscillatory Actuator

In this paper, we propose a miniaturized tadpole-like robot using an electromagnetic oscillatory actuator. The electro- magnetic actuator has a simple structure with a moving-magnet type and the body size is 13 mm （length） × 11 mm （height） ×10 mm （width）. A tail has the thickness of 100 μm and the length of 20 mm which is twice of the body-length （bl）. The tail attached to the oscillatory actuator generates undulatory propulsion for the forward swimming. Moreover, the tadpole robot enables the change of the direction by controlling input signal pattems applied to the oscillatory actuator. Prototypes of the tadpole robot have been manufactured and the thrust force and swimming speed are measured to evaluate the performance of the biomimetic robot in water at various tail-beat frequencies. The maximum thrust force is 42 mN at the tail-beat frequency of 30 Hz with voltage of 3 V, enabling the tadpole robot to swim at the speed of 210 mm·s^-1 （6 bl·s^-1）. The tadpole robot can also change its moving direction with the angular velocity of 21 deg·s^-1 at the half pulse pattem of 30 Hz.

Dear Editor,Seed germination is a major developmental transition in a plant＇s life that involves the concerted action of several genetic and physiological pathways （Holdsworth et al., 2008）, and mostly consists of the resumption of embryo growth after a long quiescence imposed during seed maturation. In mature seeds, germination is repressed by abscisic acid （ABA）, while favorable environmental conditions promote gibberellin （GA） biosynthesis and decrease ABA （Holdsworth et al., 2008）. The increase in GA levels is essential for the rupture of testa and endosperm （lee et al., 2002）. The activation of cell division in the embryo is an integral part of germination that precedes the protrusion of the root through the seed coat. In Arabidopsis, this activation has been linked to significant early changes in the expression of cell-cycle elements （Masubelele et al., 2005）. In the root apical meristem （RAM）, GAs regulate cell divisions （Achard et al., 2009; 0beda-Tomás et al., 2009）. Similarly, the transcription factors （TFs） TEOSINTE BRANCHED1/ CYCLOIDEA/PROLIFERATING CELL FACTOR14 （TCP14） and TCP15 have been proposed to regulate cell proliferation （Kieffer et al., 2011）. Moreover, the activity of TCP14 is necessary to undergo seed germination and, remarkably, seeds lacking this activity are hypersensitive to the negative effects on germination of GA biosynthesis inhibitor paclobutrazol, suggesting a functional relationship between this TF and GAs （Tatematsu et al., 2008）. Taking these observations into account, we hypothesized that TCP14 and TCP15 mediate GA-dependent activation of the cell cycle during germination.

Objective: To research Angelica tenuissima Nakai(ATN) for use in novel Alzheimer’s disease(AD) therapeutics. Methods: The effect of a 30% ethanol extract of ATN(KH032) on AD-like cognitive impairment and neuropathological and neuroinflammatory changes induced by bilateral intracerebroventricular injections of β-amyloid(Aβ) peptide(Aβ1-42) was investigated. Male C57 bl/6 mice were randomly divided into 4 groups, 10 in each group. KH032-treated groups were administrated with a low or high dose of KH032(50 and 200 mg/kg, respectively), intragastrically for 16 days; distilled water was applied in the sham and negative groups. Open field test, Y maze and Morris water maze test were used for behavior test and cognitive ability. In addition, the neuroprotective effects of KH032 in Aβ1-42-infused mice on the histopathological markers [neuronspecific nuclear protein(Neu N), Aβ1-42] of neurodegeneration were examined. The levels of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP), Neu N, phosphorylation extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)/ERK, brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF), phosphorylation c AMP response element-binding(CREB)/CREB protein expression were measured by Western blot. Results: KH032 treatment ameliorated cognitive impairments, reduced the overexpression of Aβ1-42, and inhibited neuronal loss and neuroinflammatory response in the Aβ1-42-infused mice. Moreover, KH032 treatment enhanced BDNF expression levels in the hippocampus. Finally, KH032 treatment increased phosphorylation of ERK1/2 and CREB, vital for ERK-CREB signaling. Conclusions: KH032 attenuated cognitive deficits in the Aβ1-42-infused mice by increasing BDNF expression and ERK1/2 and CREB phosphorylation and inhibiting neuronal loss and neuroinflammatory response, suggesting that KH032 has therapeutic potential in neurodegenerative disorders such as AD.
