The em.rgency room.is the entrance door of hospitals for patients who are in risk of life, and the role of the physiotherapist in this area is recognized as a qualified m.m.er of the team. helping to reduce the rate and tim. of orotracheal intubation, judicious use of invasive m.chanical ventilation (m.) and non-invasive ventilation (NIV). The objective was to know the profile and perform.nce of physical therapists in the em.rgency departm.nts of hospitals in the state of São Paulo. Conducted through a sem.-structured questionnaire covering personal and professional aspects, and analyzed and described in percentage form. Thirty-six questionnaires were analyzed, and it was observed that 92% provide em.rgency care, but only 25% work exclusively. Am.ng the m.in reasons for adm.ssion to this sector are: acute respiratory failure (44%) and decreased level of consciousness (36.1%). Regarding the physiotherapeutic resources used in the em.rgency departm.nt, 97.2% m.ke use of NIV, followed by m.nitoring of m. param.ters (94.4%) and m.dification of param.ters (94.4%). We also found that the average tim. of m. in this sector is 3 to 21 days (50%), and that 33% believe there is delay between indication and installation of NIV. The physiotherapist has m.ch to contribute in em.rgency units, however, he m.st be trained through the search for technical and scientific knowledge, thus contributing to the consolidation of this area of expertise.

Background The nationally determ.ned contribution（NDC） presented by Argentina within the fram.work of the Paris Agreem.nt is aligned with the decisions m.de in the context of the United Nations Fram.work Conven-tion on Clim.te Change（UNFCCC） on the reduction of em.ssions derived from.deforestation and forest degradation, as well as forest carbon conservation（REDD+）. In addition, clim.te change constitutes one of the greatest threats to forest biodiversity and ecosystem.services. However, the soil organic carbon（SOC） stocks of native forests have not been incorporated into the Forest Reference Em.ssion Levels calculations and for conservation planning under cli-m.te variability due to a lack of inform.tion. The objectives of this study were:（i） to m.del SOC stocks to 30 cm.of native forests at a national scale using clim.tic, topographic and vegetation as predictor variables, and（ii） to relate SOC stocks with spatial–tem.oral rem.tely sensed indices to determ.ne biodiversity conservation concerns due to threats from.high inter-annual clim.te *** We used 1040 forest soil sam.les（0–30 cm. to generate spatially explicit estim.tes of SOC native forests in Argentina at a spatial resolution of approxim.tely 200 m. We selected 52 potential predictive environm.ntal covari-ates, which represent key factors for the spatial distribution of SOC. All covariate m.ps were uploaded to the Google Earth Engine cloud-based com.uting platform.for subsequent m.delling. To determ.ne the biodiversity threats from.high inter-annual clim.te variability, we em.loyed the spatial–tem.oral satellite-derived indices based on Enhanced Vegetation Index（EVI） and land surface tem.erature（LST） im.ges from.Landsat *** SOC m.del（0–30 cm.depth） prediction accounted for 69% of the variation of this soil property across the whole native forest coverage in Argentina. Population structuring of the ubiquitous stingless bee Tetragonisca angustula in southern Brazil as revealed by m.crosatellite and m.tochondrial m.rkers

Tetragonisca angustula is one of the m.st widespread stingless bees in the Neotropics. This species swarm. frequently and is extrem.ly successful in urban envi- ronm.nts. In addition, it is one of the m.st popular stingless bee species for beekeeping in Latin Am.rica, so nest transportation and trading is com.on. Nest transportation can change the genetic structure of the host population, reducing inbreeding and increasing hom.genization. Here, we evaluate the genetic structure of 17 geographic populations of T. angustula in southern Brazil to quantify the level of genetic differentiation between populations. Analyses were conducted on partially sequenced m.tochondrial genes and 11 m.crosatellite loci of 1002 workers from.457 sites distributed on the m.inland and on 3 islands. Our results show that T. angustula populations are highly differentiated as dem.n- strated by m.tochondrial DNA （m.DNA） and m.crosatellite m.rkers. Of 73 haplotypes, 67 were population-specific. m.DNA diversity was low in 9 populations but m.crosatellite diversity was m.derate to high in all populations. m.crosatellite data suggest 10 genetic clusters and low level of gene flow throughout the studied area. However, physical barri- ers, such as rivers and m.untain ranges, or the presence or absence of forest appear to be unrelated to population clusters. Factors such as low dispersal, different ecological con- ditions, and isolation by distance are m.st likely shaping the population structure of this species. Thus far, nest transportation has not influenced the general population structure in the studied area. However, due to the genetic structure we found, we recom.end that nest transportation should only occur within and between populations that are genetically sim.lar.

A Cu-1.5 wt.%Ti/Diam.nd(55 vol.%)com.osite was fabricated by hot forging from.powder m.xture of copper,titanium.and diam.nd powders at 1050?C.A nano-thick TiC interfacial layer was form.d between the diam.nd particle and copper m.trix during forging,and it has an orientation relationship of(111)TiC//(002)Cu&[110]TiC//[110]Cuwith the copper *** analysis suggests that TiC is sem.coherently bond with copper m.trix,which helps reduce phonon scattering at the TiC/Cu interface and facilitates the heat transfer,further leading to the hot-forged copper/diam.nd com.osite(referred as to Cu-Ti/Dia-0)has a therm.l conductivity of 410 W/m.K,and this is about 74%of theoretical therm.l conductivity of hot-forged copper/com.osite(552 W/m.K).However,the form.tion of thin am.rphous carbon layer in diam.nd particle(next to the interfacial TiC layer)and deform.d structure in the copper m.trix have adverse effect on the therm.l conductivity of Cu-Ti/Dia-0 com.osite.800℃-annealing elim.nates the discrepancy in TiC interface m.rphology between the diam.nd-{100}and-{111}facets of Cu-Ti/Dia-0 com.osite,but causes TiC particles coarsening and agglom.rating for the Cu-Ti/Dia-2 com.osite and interfacial layer cracking and spallation for the Cu-Ti/Dia-1 *** addition,a large am.unt of graphite was form.d by titanium.induced diam.nd graphitization in the Cu-Ti/Dia-2 *** these factors deteriorate the heat transfer behavior for the annealed Cu-Ti/Dia *** heat treatm.nt needs to be continually investigated to im.rove the therm.l conductivity of hot-forged CuTi/Dia com.osite by elim.nating deform.d structure in the copper m.trix with lim.t/without im.acts on the form.d TiC interfacial layer.

Gold-iron oxide nano-heterostructures with a clear and well-defined m.rphology were prepared via a seed-assisted m.thod. The synthesis process and the events of heterogeneous nucleation during the decom.osition of the iron precursor were carefully studied in order to understand the m.chanism.of the reaction and to tailor the architecture of the fabricated heterostructures. When em.loying Au seeds of 3 and 5 nm. nanoparticles with a dim.r-like m.rphology were produced due to the occurrence of a single iron oxide nucleation event. Otherwise, m.lti-nucleation events could be favored by two m.chanism.:(i) by the incorporation of a reducing agent and the slowing down of the heating protocol, leading to a core-shell system.(ii) by the increase of the Au seed size to 8 nm. leading to a flower-like system. Further increase of the Au seed size to 12 nm.using sim.lar synthesis conditions prom.tes the hom.geneous nucleation and growth of the iron oxide phase, without form.tion of heterostructures. An in-depth study was perform.d on the gold-iron oxide heterostructures to confirm.the epitaxial growth of the oxide dom.in over the Au seed and to analyze the elem.ntal distribution of the com.onents within the heterostructures. Finally, it was found that the m.dification of the plasm.nic properties of the Au nanoparticles are strongly influenced by the architecture of the heterostructure, with a m.re pronounced dam.ing effect for the system. produced after m.lti-nucleation events.

The residual strength of rocks and rock m.sses is an im.ortant param.ter to be constrained for analysis and design purposes in m.ny rock engineering applications.A residual strength envelope in principal stress space is typically developed using residual strength data obtained from.com.ression tests on m.ny different specim.ns of the sam. rock *** this study,we exam.ned the potential for use of the continuous-failure-state testing concept as a m.ans to constrain the residual strength envelope using a lim.ted num.er of ***,cylindrical specim.ns of three rock types(granodiorite,diabase,and Stanstead granite)were unloaded at the residual state such that a full residual strength envelope for each individual specim.n was *** a residual strength m.del that introduces a single new strength param.ter(the residual strength index,or RSI),the results of the continuous-failurestate unloading tests were com.ared to conventionally obtained residual strength ***,the continuous-failure-state residual strength data were found to be consistent with the conventional residual strength ***,it was identified that the prim.ry factor lim.ting an accurate characterization of the residual strength for a given rock type is not the am.unt of data for a given specim.n,but the variety of specim.ns available to characterize the inherent variability of the rock unit of ***,the use of continuous-failure-state testing for estim.tion of the residual strength of a rock unit is only recom.ended when the num.er of specim.ns available for testing is very lim.ted(i.e.<5).
