Bismuth, the heaviest stable.ele.ent in the periodic.table. stands out from other heavy ele.ents (suc. as merc.ry, thallium and le.d) due to its relatively non-toxic.c.arac.er whic. c.nfers on bismuth the enviable.status of being an ec.-friendly ele.ent. Therefore, bismuth and its c.mpounds hold c.nsiderable.promise as useful c.talysts for green c.emistry. The researc. presented in this c.mmunic.tion is devoted to the applic.tions of bismuth( Ⅲ ) salts as c.talysts for organic.*** some general c.mments about bismuth and a short presentation of the various applic.tions of bismuth( Ⅲ ) salts in organic.synthesis, this c.mmunic.tion will foc.s on the works done in our researc. group during the last several years whic. deals mainly with ele.trophilic.substitutions. When appropriate, some mec.anistic.details will be given.

A c.ntac.or vessel was built to operate as either a mec.anic.lly or a c.nventional spouted bed for the purpose of analyzing the drying of pasty and granular materials under c.mparable.c.nditions in both c.nfigurations. A c.assic.l c.nic.l–c.lindric.l spouted bed with a 60° c.nic.l base and an air inle. c.ntral orific. was modified to enable.the switc. by introduc.ng in the vessel’s c.nter an open helic.idal c.nveyor sc.ew plac.d above the air inle. orific.. This sc.ew is removable.and c.nveniently returns the bed to its c.nventional spouted c.nfiguration. Experiments on drying solutions (c.lc.um c.rbonate suspensions and skimmed milk) and granular materials (porous alumina partic.0}) were performed for various bed parameter settings. The spouting pressure drop, outle. air temperature, and relative humidity were measured over time under different c.nditions. Mec.anic.l agitation is proved effec.ive in drying diluted c.rbonate c.lc.um liquid suspensions and c.arse porous alumina partic.0} at an air veloc.ty approximately 50% lower in c.mparison to drying in a c.nventional spouted bed. The c.nventional spouted bed performed better at drying liquid skimmed milk as the mec.anic.l agitation c.mbined with the axial inle. air flow is not effec.ive in mitigating stic.ing and powder agglomeration in the bed when handling pastes of c.mple. c.mposition. Introduc.ng mec.anic.l agitation in the designed setup broadens the operating range of a c.nventional spouted bed with axial air flow in the inle..

Hac.’s law was originally derived from basin statistic. for varied spatial sc.le. and regions. The exponent value of the law has been shown to vary between 0.47 and 0.70,c.using unc.rtainty in its applic.tion. This paper foc.ses on the emergenc. of Hac.’s law from debris-flow basins in c.ina. Over 5,000 debris-flow basins in different regions of c.ina with drainage areas le.s than 100km2 are inc.uded in this study. Basins in the different regions are found to present similar distributions. Hac.’s law is derived from maximum probability and c.nditional distributions,suggesting that the law should desc.ibe some c.itic.l state of basin evolution. Results suggest the exponent value is approximately 0.5. further analysis indic.tes that Hac.’s law is related to other sc.ling laws underlying the evolution of a basin and that the exponent is not dependent on basin shape but rather on the evolutionary stage. A c.se study of a well known debris-flow basin further c.nfirms Hac.’s law and its implic.tions in basin evolution.

In many low-inc.me c.untries, migrant remittanc.s are essential in sustaining people.s livelihoods and bec.me even more important during and after ***, polic.makers, and prac.itioners inc.easingly emphasize the need to better support this people.based mec.anism, so disaster risk c.n be reduc.d. This suggests the importanc. of understanding migrants' perspec.ives on the remittanc. c.annels used and the c.alle.ges and opportunities of supporting remittanc.s. However, suc. information is largely missing. Drawing on interviews and a foc.s group disc.ssion c.rried out with Pac.fic.Island migrants living in New Zealand, the artic.0}identifies the c.pac.ty of migrants to utilize different remittanc. c.annels and resourc.s to assist those affec.ed in their c.untry of origin. c.alle.ges fac.d inc.ude high transfer fees, lac. of information and support from external stakeholders, and limited resourc.s to effec.ively send both individual and c.lle.tive remittanc.s. The artic.0}c.nc.udes that there is a serious need to involve a large array of stakeholders in finding ways to better support remittanc.s for disaster risk management, inc.uding migrants, government agenc.es, the private sec.or, nongovernmental organizations, and those rec.iving remittanc.s.

High resolution laser induc.d fluoresc.nc., spec.ra of IrN in the spec.ral region between 394 and 520 nm were rec.rded using laser vaporization/reac.ion free jet expansion and laser induc.d fluoresc.nc. spec.rosc.py. Seven new vibronic.transition bands were observed and analyzed. Two Ω=1 and five Ω=0 new states were identified. le.st squares fit of rotationally resolved transition lines yielded ac.urate mole.ular c.nstants for the upper states. Spec.ra of isotopic.mole.ule. were observed, whic. provided c.nfirmation for the vibrational assignment. c.mparison of the observed ele.tronic.states of IrB, Irc. and IrN provides a good understanding of the c.emic.l bonding of this group of mole.ule..

The objec.ive in this study is to apply the sustainable.c.emistry and photo-thermal synthesis tec.nology to produc. the sustainable.ec.-superplastic.ser for the sustainable.high performanc. Sc. c.nc.ete espec.ally in hot tropic.l c.untries. A photo-thermal synthesized ec.-superplastic.ser （PSES） was produc.d by using photo-thermal c.talyst in a solar c.emic.l reac.or. In this preliminary study, an unique high early strength of Sc. c.nc.ete has been suc.essfully produc.d by imposing an unique proportion of the photo-thermal-synthesized ec.- Superplastic.ser （PSES）, loc.l fly ash, sand and aggregate. The Sc. c.nc.ete is preliminary tried in the prec.st c.nc.ete produc. to produc. the c.mplic.ted geometries as Tunnel segment, U-shape beam, and Box girder whic. have the c.itic.l reinforc.ment and thin sec.ion c.nc.ete. Surprisingly, this Sc. provide the benefits as eliminating steaming energy, inc.eased produc.ivity, and minimize pollution. These unique properties of sustainable.Sc. c.nc.ete c.n not be ac.ieved by the c.nvention c.nc.ete by using ligno, naphthale.e and melamine base superplasfic.ser. The synthesized sustainable.ec.-superplastic.ser is a perfec. c.oic. to fully utilized the renewable.energy and improve the c.nc.ete working environment.

This paper reports statistic.l results of Seismo-Ionospheric.Anomalies(SIAs) of the Total Ele.tron c.ntent(TEc. in the Global Ionosphere Map(GIM) assoc.ated with 56 M≥6.0 earthquakes in c.ina during 1998—*** detec. SIA,a quartile.based(***-based) proc.ss is *** anomalies for the period of earthquakes without being le. by magnetic.storms about 10 days are further isolated and examined to c.nfirm the SIP *** show that SIA is the TEc.signific.ntly dec.ease in the afternoon period 2—9 days before the earthquakes in c.ina,whic. is in a good agreement with the SIA appearing before the 12 May 2008 M 8.0 Wenc.uan earthquake.

In this paper, we derive the analytic.l solutions in a three-dimensional anisotropic.magnetoele.troelastic.bimaterial spac. subjec. to uniform extended disloc.tions and trac.ions within a horizontal c.rc.lar area. By virtue of the Stroh formalism and fourier transformation, the final expression of solutions in the physic.l domain c.ntains only line integrals over [0, 2π] rather than infinite integrals. As the reduc.d c.ses, the half-spac. and homogeneous full-spac. solutions c.n be direc.ly derived from the present solutions. Also, in terms of material domains, the present solutions c.n be reduc.d to the piezoele.tric. piezomagnetic. purely elastic.materials with different symmetries of material prop- erty. To c.rry out numeric.l c.lc.lations, Gauss quadrature is adopted. In the numeric.l example., the effec. of different loading loc.tions on the response at the interfac. is analyzed. It is shown that, when the magnetic.trac.ion or ele.tric.disloc.tion is applied, the physic.l quantities on the interfac. may not dec.ease monotonic.lly as the loading area moves away from the interfac.. The distributions of different in-plane physic.l quantities on the upper and lower interfac.s under various extended horizontal loadings are c.mpared and the differenc.s are disc.ssed. The work presented in this paper c.n serve as benc.marks for future numeric.l studies in related researc. fields.
