Effects of exercise training on glucose metabolism indicators and inflammatory markers in obese children and adolescents:A metaanalysis

BACKGROUND Obesity in children and adolescents is a serious problem,and the efficacy of exercise therapy for these patients is *** To assess the efficacy of exercise training on overweight and obese children based on glucose metabolism indicators and inflammatory *** The PubMed,Web of Science,and Embase databases were searched for randomized controlled trials related to exercise training and obese children until October *** meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.3 software to evaluate the efficacy of exercise therapy on glucose metabolism indicators and inflammatory markers in obese *** In total,1010 patients from 28 studies were *** therapy reduced the levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG)[standardized mean difference(SMD):-0.78;95%confidence interval(CI):-1.24 to-0.32,P=0.0008],fasting insulin(FINS)(SMD:-1.55;95%CI:-2.12 to-0.98,Plin resistance(HOMA-IR)(SMD:-1.58;95%CI:-2.20 to-0.97,Pleukin-6(IL-6)(SMD:-1.31;95%CI:-2.07 to-0.55,P=0.0007),C-reactive protein(CRP)(SMD:-0.64;95%CI:-1.21 to-0.08,P=0.03),and leptin(SMD:-3.43;95%CI:-5.82 to-1.05,P=0.005)in overweight and obese *** training increased adiponectin levels(SMD:1.24;95%CI:0.30 to 2.18,P=0.01)but did not improve tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)levels(SMD:-0.80;95%CI:-1.77 to 0.18,P=0.11).CONCLUSION In summary,exercise therapy improves glucose metabolism by reducing levels of FBG,FINS,HOMA-IR,as well as improves inflammatory status by reducing levels of IL-6,CRP,leptin,and increasing levels of adiponectin in overweight and obese *** was no statistically significant effect between exercise training and levels of TNF-α.Additional long-term trials should be conducted to explore this therapeutic perspective and confirm these results.

Self-actuating protection mechanisms for safer lithium-ion batteries

Safety issue is still a problem nowadays for the large-scale application of lithium-ion batteries(liBs)in electric vehicles and energy storage *** unsafe behaviors of liBs arise from the thermal run-away,which is intrinsically triggered by the overcharging and *** improve the safety of liBs,various protection strategies based on self-actuating reaction control mechanisms(SRCMs)have been proposed,including redox shuttle,polymerizable monomer additive,potential-sensitive separator,thermal shutdown separator,positive-temperature-coefficient electrode,thermally polymerizable addi-tive,and reversible thermal phase transition *** build-in protection mechanisms,these meth-ods can sensitively detect either the temperature change inside battery or the potential change of the electrode,and spontaneously shut down the electrode reaction at risky conditions,thus preventing the battery from going into thermal *** their advantages in enhancing the intrinsic safety of liBs,this paper overviews the research progresses of SRCMs after a brief introduction of thermal runaway mechanism and limitations of conventional thermal runaway mitigating *** importantly,the current states and issues,key challenges,and future developing trends of SRCTs are also discussed and outlined from the viewpoint of practical application,aiming at providing insights and guidance for developing more effective SRCMs for liBs.

Congener-derived template to construct lithiophilic organic-inorganic layer/interphase for high volumetric capacity dendrite-free li metal batteries

The development of lithium-metal batteries(LMBs)is seriously restricted by the out-of-control dendrites growth and infinite volume ***,a pervasive organic-inorganic layer construction strategy is reported for the composite lithium metal anode with congener-derived organic-inorganic solid electrolyte interphase(SEI).In this strategy,the organic-inorganic Ag@polydopamine(Ag@PDA)layer is coated on the arbitrary substrates by a simple two-step *** thin and stable congener-derived SEI is insitu formed with fewer inorganic components and more organic components during charging/*** polydopamine with sufficient adhesion groups and lithiophilic Ag layer realize near-zero nucleation overpotential during lithium *** low interface resistance and stable lithium deposition are ***,the practical areal and volumetric capacities of the composite anode with three-dimensional copper(3DCu)as the substrate are 10 mAh/cm^(2)and 1538 mAh/cm^3(*** mass of anode).The symmetrical cell shows very low polarization voltage(10 mV)and more than 2500 h cycles life at 1 mA/cm^(2)(1 mAh/cm^(2)).The liNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811)-based full cells show improved capacity retention(82%)after 100 cycles at 0.5 *** modified lithiophilic anode with congener-derived interphase provides a promising strategy to realize the next-generation dendrite-free LMBs.

SEI/dead li-turning capacity loss for high-performance anode-free solid-state lithium batteries

Anode-free solid-state lithium metal batteries(AF-SSLBs)have the potential to deliver higher energy density and improved safety beyond lithium-metal ***,the unclear mechanism for the fast capacity decay in AF-SSLBs,either determined by dead li or solid electrolyte interface(SEI),limits the proposal of effective strategies to prolong cycling *** clarify the underlying mechanism,herein,the evolution of SEI and dead li is quantitatively analyzed by a solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(ss-NMR)technology in a typical liPF6-based polymer *** results show that the initial capacity loss is attributed to the formation of SEI,while the dead li dominates the following capacity loss and the growth rate is 0.141 mA h cm^(−2)cycle−*** reduce the active li loss,the combination of inorganic-rich SEI and self-healing electrostatic shield effect is proposed to improve the reversibility of li deposition/dissolution behavior,which reduces the capacity loss rate for the initial SEI and following dead li generation by 2.3 and 20.1 folds,*** a result,the initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE)and stable CE increase by 15.1%and 15.3%in li-Cu cells,which guides the rational design of high-performance AF-SSLBs.

Top priority current path between SiC particles during ultra-high temperature flash sintering: Presence of PyC “bridges”

Flash sintering(FS)is a novel technique for rapidly densifying silicon carbide(SiC)*** work achieved a rapid sintering of SiC ceramics by the utilization of ultra-high temperature flash sintering within 60 *** carbon(PyC)“bridges”were constructed between SiC particles through the carbonisation of phenolic resin,providing a large number of current *** incubation time of the flash sintering process was significantly reduced,and the sintering difference between the centre and the edge regions of the ceramics was minimized,with an average particle size of the centre region and edge region being 12.31 and 9.02μm,*** results showed that the porosity of the SiC ceramics after the flash sintering was reduced to 14.79% with PyC“bridges”introduced,and the Vickers hardness reached 19.62 ***“bridges”gradually evolved from amorphous eddy current carbon to oriented graphite carbon,indicating that the ultra-high temperature environment in which the sample was located during the flash sintering was successfully ***-high temperature flash sintering of SiC is expected to be applied to the local repair of matrix damage in SiC ceramic matrix composites.

Composite ceramic phosphor(CCP)is a candidate light-conversion material to obtain the high-quality laser lighting *** based on the transmissive configuration model could not simultaneously meet the requirements of angular color uniformity and high thermal *** this study,a novel composite structure ceramic was designed,including Al_(2)O_(3)-YAG:Ce/YAG layered ceramic with a size of 1 mm×1 mm for lighting,and Al_(2)O_(3) ceramic(φ=16.0 mm)was used as the wrapping material due to its outstanding thermal *** prepared ceramics exhibited excellent thermal performance and no yellow ring *** this design,we achieved the match of the intensity distribution of the blue and yellow lights,resulting in a high angular color uniformity of 0.9 with a view angle of±80°.All ceramics showed no luminous saturation phenomenon,even the laser power density was increased up to 47.51 W/mm^(2).A high-brightness white-light source with a luminous flux of 618 lm,a luminous efficiency of 126 lm/W,a CCT of 6615 K,and a CRI of 69.9 was obtained in the transmissive *** particular,the surface temperature of the ceramic was as low as 74.1℃ under a high laser radiation(47.51 W/mm^(2)).These results indicate that Al_(2)O_(3)/Al_(2)O_(3)-YAG:Ce/YAG composite structure ceramic is a promising luminescent material in the high-power laser lighting applications.

Sensitivity impacts owing to the variations in the type of zero-range pairing forces on the fission properties using the density functional theory

Using the Skyrme density functional theory,potential energy surfaces of^(240)Pu with constraints on the axial quadrupole and octupole deformations(q_(20)and q_(30))were *** volume-like and surface-like pairing forces,as well as a combination of these two forces,were used for the Hartree–Fock–Bogoliubov *** in the least-energy fission path,fission barrier,pairing energy,total kinetic energy,scission line,and mass distribution of the fission fragments based on the different forms of the pairing forces were analyzed and *** fission dynamics were studied based on the timedependent generator coordinate method plus the Gaussian overlap *** results demonstrated a sensitivity of the mass and charge distributions of the fission fragments on the form of the pairing *** on the investigation of the neutron-induced fission of^(239)Pu,among the volume,mixed,and surface pairing forces,the mixed pairing force presented a good reproduction of the experimental data.

Highly-chlorinated inert and robust interphase without mineralization of oxide enhancing high-rate li metal batteries

Side reactions and dendrite growth triggered by the unstable interface and inhomogeneous deposition have become the biggest obstacle to the commercialization for lithium metal *** this study,a highly-chlorinated organic-inorganic hybrid interfacial protective layer is developed by rationally tuning the interfacial passivation and robustness to achieve the convenient and efficient li metal *** polyvinyl chloride(PVC)can effectively resist water and oxygen,which is confirmed by density functional *** organic-dominant solid electrolyte interphases(SEI)with lithium chloride are investigated by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)with little mineralization of oxide,such as li_(2)O and li_(2)CO_(3).With such artificial SEI,a uniform and dense lithium deposition morphology are formed and an ultra-long stable cycle of over 500 h are achieved even at an ultra-high current density of 10 m A/cm^(2).Moreover,the simple and convenient protected anode also exhibits excellent battery stability when paired with the liNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811)and liFePO_(4)(LFP)cathode,showing great potential for the commercial application of lithium metal batteries.
