Investigating natural-inspired applications is a perennially appealing subject for scientists. The current increase in the speed of natural-origin structure growth may be linked to their superior mechanical properties and environmental resilience. Biological composite structures with helicoidal schemes and designs have remarkable capacities to absorb impact energy and withstand damage. However, there is a dearth of extensive study on the influence of fiber redirection and reorientation inside the matrix of a helicoid structure on its mechanical performance and reactivity. The present study aimed to explore the static and transient responses of a bio-inspired helicoid laminated composite(B-iHLC) shell under the influence of an explosive load using an isomorphic method. The structural integrity of the shell is maintained by a viscoelastic basis known as the Pasternak foundation, which encompasses two coefficients of stiffness and one coefficient of damping. The equilibrium equations governing shell dynamics are obtained by using Hamilton's principle and including the modified first-order shear theory,therefore obviating the need to employ a shear correction factor. The paper's model and approach are validated by doing numerical comparisons with respected publications. The findings of this study may be used in the construction of military and civilian infrastructure in situations when the structure is subjected to severe stresses that might potentially result in catastrophic collapse. The findings of this paper serve as the foundation for several other issues, including geometric optimization and the dynamic response of similar mechanical structures.

Background In Viet Nam, tuberculosis (TB) represents a devastating life-event with an exorbitant price tag, partly due to lost income from daily directly observed therapy in public sector care. thus, persons with TB may seek care in the private sector for its flexibility, convenience, and privacy. Our study aimed to measure income changes, costs and catastrophic cost incurrence among TB-affected households in the public and private *** Between October 2020 and March 2022, we conducted 110 longitudinal patient cost interviews, among 50 patients privately treated for TB and 60 TB patients treated by the National TB Program (NTP) in Ha Noi, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Using a local adaptation of the WHO TB patient cost survey tool, participants were interviewed during the intensive phase, continuation phase and post-treatment. We compared income levels, direct and indirect treatment costs, catastrophic costs using Wilcoxon rank-sum and chi-squared tests and associated risk factors between the two cohorts using multivariate *** The pre-treatment median monthly household income was significantly higher in the private sector versus NTP cohort (USD 868 vs USD 578;P=0.010). However, private sector treatment was also significantly costlier (USD 2075 vs USD 1313;P=0.005), driven by direct medical costs which were 4.6 times higher than costs reported by NTP participants (USD 754 vs USD 164;Pthis resulted in no significant difference in catastrophic costs between the two cohorts (Private: 55% vs NTP: 52%;P=0.675). Factors associated with catastrophic cost included being a single-person household [adjusted odds ratio [(aOR=13.71; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.36–138.14;P=0.026], unemployment during treatment (aOR=10.86; 95%CI: 2.64–44.60;P<0.001) and experiencing TB-related stigma (aOR=37.90; 95%CI: 1.72–831.73;P=0.021).Conclusions Persons with TB in Viet Nam face similarly high risk of catastrophic costs whether treated in the

The analysis of static bending and free and forced vibration responses of functionally graded fluidinfiltrated porous(FGFP)skew and elliptical nanoplates placed on Pasternak’s two-parameter elastic foundation is performed for the first time using isogeometric analysis(IGA)based on the non-uniform rational B-splines(NURBSs)basis *** types of porosity distributions affect the mechanical characteristics of materials:symmetric distribution,upper asymmetric distribution,and lower asymmetric *** stress–strain relationship for Biot porous materials was determined using the elastic *** general equations of motion of the nanoplates were established using the four-unknown shear deformation plate theory in conjunction with the nonlocal elastic theory and Hamilton’s principle.A computer program that uses IGA to determine the static bending and free and forced vibration of a nanoplate was developed on MATLAB software *** accuracy of the computational program was validated via numerical comparison with confidence *** set of programs presents the influence of the following parameters on the static bending and free and forced vibrations of nanoplates:porosity distribution law,porosity coefficient and geometrical parameters,elastic foundation,deviation angle,nonlocal coefficient,different boundary conditions,and Skempton *** numerical findings demonstrated the uniqueness of the FGFP plate’s behavior when the porosities are saturated with liquid compared with the case without *** findings of this study have significant implications for engineers involved in the design and fabrication of the aforementioned type of ***,this can form the basis for future research on the mechanical responses of the structures.

Four activated carbon(AC) samples prepared from rice husk under different activation temperatures have been characterized by N2adsorption–desorption isotherms, thermogravimetric analysis(TGA–DTA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The specific surface area of AC sample reached 2681 m2 g 1under activation temperature of 800 1C. The AC samples were then tested as electrode material; the specific capacitance of the as-prepared activated carbon electrode was found to be 172.3 F g 1using cyclic voltammetry at a scan rate of 5 mV s 1and 198.4 F g 1at current density 1000 mA g 1in the charge/discharge mode.& 2014 Chinese Materials Research Society. Water level predictions in the river,lake and delta play an important role in flood *** year Mekong River delta of Vietnam is experiencing flood due to heavy monsoon rains and high *** subsidence may also aggravate flooding problems in this ***,accurate predictions of water levels in this region are very important to forewarn the people and authorities for taking timely adequate remedial measures to prevent losses of life and *** are so many methods available to predict the water levels based on historical data but nowadays Machine learning(ML)methods are considered the best tool for accurate *** this study,we have used surface water level data of 18 water level measurement stations of the Mekong River delta from 2000 to 2018 to build novel time-series Bagging based hybrid ML models namely:Bagging(RF),Bagging(SOM)and Bagging(M5P)to predict historical water levels in the study *** of the Bagging-based hybrid models were compared with Reduced Error Pruning Trees(REPT),which is a benchmark ML *** data of 19 years period was divided into 70:30 ratio for the *** data of the period 1/2000 to 5/2013(which is about 70%of total data)was used for the training and for the period 5/2013 to 12/2018(which is about 30%of total data)was used for testing(validating)the *** of the models was evaluated using standard statistical measures:Coefficient of Determination(R2),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and Mean Absolute Error(MAE).Results show that the performance of all the developed models is good(R2>0.9)for the prediction of water levels in the study ***,the Bagging-based hybrid models are slightly better than another model such as ***,these Bagging-based hybrid time series models can be used for predicting water levels at Mekong data.

BACKGROUND Early diagnosis is critical for successful intervention before liver disease progresses to cirrhosis and hepatocellular *** To examine a novel biomarker for probing early liver disease quickly using an automated immunology *** this was a cross-sectional study.140 patients at various stages of liver disease were randomly *** cohort consisted of patients who were treatment naïve and currently undergoing *** included patients with diverse liver disease ***-2 binding protein glycosylation isomer(M2BPGi)levels in addition to different clinical parameters,co-morbidities and transient elastography results were collected and *** M2BPGi levels were significantly correlated with transient elastography for liver fibrosis staging across all disease *** significant differences were observed in patients with F0-1;F2 and>F3 liver *** examination showed that M2BPGi levels were two-fold higher in F4 than F3 hepatitis C(HCV)patients.M2BPGi was observed to be etiology-specific and HCV patients had higher mean M2BPGi *** also observed significant correlations with aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index and fibrosis-4 index as well as HBV DNA *** M2BPGi levels for HBV patients with a viral load lower than 2000 IU/mL was 1.75-fold lower than those with a viral load greater than 2000 IU/*** M2BPGi was observed to be a good indicator of early liver disease in patients with different *** results provide reference cut-offs for different causes of liver disease and demonstrated the utility of this marker for early disease *** is useful for remote regions in developing countries.
