CSCs （Cancer stem cells） have been involved in tumor resistance, metastasis and recurrence. In breast cancer, tumor cells are characterized by CD44＋, CD24-/low and ALDH 1 expression represents a subpopulation of BCSC （breast cancer stem cell）. Several three-dimensional （3D） in vitro culturing cancer cells have been used to stimulate BCSC phenotype. The present study aimed to evaluate 3D cell culture in alginate matrix and the CD44, CD24 and ALDH1 mRNA levels of BCSC markers. The 3D culture was performed using MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line on alginate matrix 1.2% in RPMI medium. expression of BCSC markers was evaluated by Real Time PCR （Polymerase Chain Reaction） comparing 3D to 2D culture. The 3D cultures increase of CD44 and CD24 mRNA levels and induce ALDH1 expression comparing to 2D culture. The data suggest that 3D alginate matrix alters the mRNA levels of genes involved in the phenotypic characteristics of BCSC.

Background:Ruminants rely upon a complex community of microbes in their rumen to convert host-indigestible feed into ***,little is known about the association between the rumen microbiota and feed efficiency traits in Nellore(Bos indicus)cattle,a breed of major economic importance to the global beef ***,we compare the composition of the bacterial,archaeal and fungal communities in the rumen of Nellore steers with high and low feed efficiency(Fe)phenotypes,as measured by residual feed intake(RFI).Results:The Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes ratio was significantly higher(Pe-RFI steers(p-RFI,low feed efficiency)than in negative-RFI(n-RFI,high feed efficiency)*** differences in bacterial composition from steers with high and low Fe were mainly associated with members of the families Lachnospiraceae,Ruminococcaceae and Christensenellaceae,as well as the genus *** community richness was lower(Peers and the genus Methanobrevibacter was either increased or exclusive of p-RFI *** fungal genus Buwchfawromyces was more abundant in the rumen solid fraction of n-RFI steers(Pelonging to the genus Piromyces was also increased in the rumen microbiota of highefficiency ***,analysis of rumen fermentation variables and functional predictions indicated similar metabolic outputs for the microbiota of distinct Fe ***:Our results demonstrate that differences in the ruminal microbiota of high and low Fe Nellore steers comprise specific taxa from the bacterial,archaeal and fungal *** OTUs belonging to the genus Piromyces were identified in animals showing high feed efficiency,whereas among archaea,Methanobrevibacter was associated with steers classified as *** identification of specific RFI-associated microorganisms in Nellore steers could guide further studies targeting the isolation and functional characterization

The aim of this study was to evaluate the physiological quality and seed production of Fabaceae and corn in monoculture and intercropping in areas cropped under different management. The following treatments were evaluated: corn + NPK + weed control;corn + weed control;corn + NPK;corn + crotalaria;corn + jack bean. Intercropping raised the average number of corn ears of corn and the seed IVG Weed control positively influenced the final stand and average number of ears. NPK fertilization on corn sowing positively influenced the seed electrical conductivity. The yield of corn plants intercropped with crotalaria and jack bean was statistically similar. However, their absolute values should be considered for economic purposes. Corn seeds derived from intercropping with crotalaria were more effective compared with intercropping with jack bean. Crotalaria and jack bean seeds when intercropped with corn have high production, germination and vigor (IVG and emergence).

AIM To evaluate bacterial resistance to clarithromycin and fluoroquinolones in Brazil using molecular *** The primary antibiotic resistance rates of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) were determined from November 2012 to March 2015 in the Southern,South-eastern,Northern,North-eastern,and Central-Western regions of Brazil. Four hundred ninety H. pylori patients [66% female,mean age 43 years(range: 18-79)] who had never been previously treated for this infection were enrolled. All patients underwent gastroscopy with antrum and corpus biopsies and molecular testing using Geno Type Helico DR(Hain Life Science,Germany). This test was performed to detect the presence of H. pylori and to identify point mutations in the genes responsible for clarithromycin and fluoroquinolone resistance. The molecular procedure was divided into three steps: DNA extraction from the biopsies,multiplex amplification,and reverse hybridization. ReSULTS Clarithromycin resistance was found in 83(16.9%) patients,and fluoroquinolone resistance was found in 66(13.5%) patients. There was no statistical difference in resistance to either clarithromycin or fluoroquinolones(P = 0.55 and P = 0.06,respectively) among the different regions of Brazil. Dual resistance to clarithromycin and fluoroquinolones was found in 4.3%(21/490) of patients. The A2147 G mutation was present in 90.4%(75/83),A2146 G in 16.9%(14/83) and A2146 C in 3.6%(3/83) of clarithromycin-resistant patients. In 10.8%(9/83) of clarithromycin-resistant samples,more than 01 mutation in the 23 S r RNA gene was noticed. In fluoroquinolone-resistant samples,37.9%(25/66) showed mutations not specified by the Geno Type Helico DR test. D91 N mutation was observed in 34.8%(23/66),D91 G in 18.1%(12/66),N87 K in 16.6%(11/66) and D91 Y in 13.6%(9/66) of cases. Among fluoroquinolone-resistant samples,37.9%(25/66) showed mutations not specified by the Geno Type Helico DR test. CONCLUSION The H. pylori clarithromycin resistance rate in Brazil is
