We conducted a genome-wide linkage scan and positional association study to identify genes and variants influencing blood lipid levels among participants of the Genetic Epidemiology Network of Salt-Sensitivity （GenSalt） study. The GenSalt study was conducted among 1906 participants from 633 Han Chinese families. Lipids were measured from overnight fasting blood samples using standard methods. Multipoint quantitative trait genome-wide linkage scans were performed on the high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein, and log- transformed triglyceride phenotypes. Using dense panels of single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs）, single-marker and gene-based association analyses were conducted to follow-up on promising linkage signals. Additive associations between each SNP and lipid phenotypes were tested using mixed linear regression models. Gene-based analyses were performed by combining P-values from single- marker analyses within each gene using the truncated product method （TPM）. Significant associations were assessed for replication among 777 Asian participants of the Multi-ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis （MESA）. Bonferroni correction was used to adjust for multiple testing. In the GenSalt study, suggestive linkage signals were identified at 2p11.2-2q12.1 [maximum multipoint LOD score （MML） = 2.18 at 2q11.2] and t lq24.3-11q25 （MML = 2.29 at 11q25） for the log-transformed triglyceride phenotype. Follow-up analyses of these two regions revealed gene-based associations of charged multivesicular body protein 3 （CHMP3）, ring finger protein 103 （RNF103）, AF4/FMR2 family, member 3 （AFF3）, and neurotrirnin （NTM） with triglycerides （P = 4 ×10^-4, 1.00 × 10^-5, 2.00 × 10^-5, and 1.00 × 10^-7, respectively）. Both the AFF3 and NTM triglyceride associations were replicated among MESA study participants（P = 1.00 × 10^-7 and 8.00× 10^-5, respectively）. Most iterative algorithms for eigenpair computation consist of two main steps:a subspace update(SU)step that generates bases for approximate eigenspaces,followed by a Rayleigh-Ritz(RR)projection step that extracts approximate *** far the predominant methodology for the SU step is based on Krylov subspaces that builds orthonormal bases piece by piece in a sequential *** this work,we investigate block methods in the SU step that allow a higher level of concurrency than what is reachable by Krylov subspace *** achieve a competitive speed,we propose an augmented Rayleigh-Ritz(ARR)*** this ARR procedure with a set of polynomial accelerators,as well as utilizing a few other techniques such as continuation and deflation,we construet a block algorithm designed to reduce the number of RR steps and elevate concurrency in the SU *** computational experiments are conducted in C on a representative set of test problems to evaluate the performance of two variants of our *** results,obtained on a many-core computer without explicit code parallelization,show that when computing a relatively large number of eigenpairs,the performance of our algorithms is competitive with that of several state-of-the-art eigensolvers.

With large-scale applications,the loss of power load data during transmission is *** paper proposes a data completion method considering the low rank property of the *** to the low-rank property of data and numerical experiments,we find either the linear interpolation(LI)or the singular value decomposition(SVD)based method is superior to other methods depending on the smoothness of the *** construct an index to measure the smoothness of data,and propose the SVDLI algorithm which adaptively selects different algorithms for data completion according to the *** simulations show that irrespective of the smoothness of data,the data complementing results of SVDLI are comparable to or better than the best of SVD or LI *** present study is verified using the measurements in China,and the public data of the Australian electricity distribution company and lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Polypropylene fibers are embedded to prevent reactive powder concrete （RPC） from spalling failure under high temperatures. This paper probes the influence of embedded fibers at various volumetric dosages on the thermomechanical properties of polypropylene-fibered reactive powder concrete （PPRPC） exposed to high tem- peratures up to 350 ℃ and on the spalling performance and characteristics up to 600 ℃. The thermomechanical prop- erties include the characteristic temperature for spalling, and residual strengths, such as the compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural tensile strength. A high- definition charge-coupled device camera and scanning electron microscope technology were employed to capture the spalling processes and to detect the microstructural changes in the materials with various fiber dosages. To understand and characterize the mechanism by which polypropylene fibers influence the thermal spalling of RPC, a numerical model to determine the moisture migration and vapor pressure transmission during spalling was developed in this paper. It showed that there was an optimal volu- metric dosage of fibers to prevent PPRPC from explosive spalling. The relationships between the mechanical char- acteristics of PPRPC and the fiber dosages were derived based on experimental data.

The intermittent nature of renewable energy sources sets a requirement for efficient energy storage to mitigate the conflict between energy supply and *** is a promising choice for energy storage due to its high energy ***,the conversion of electrical energy to chemical energy stored in hydrogen through water electrolysis suffers from low efficiency,and the electricity cost dominates the total cost of hydrogen ***,we report the study of improving the hydrogen evolution reaction activity of Pt-based catalysts by building a nanoscale surface NiO and Pt interface,further optimizing the performance via tuning the lattice parameter of the core of nanoparticles,which can be achieved by varying the dealloying annealing *** optimized PtCuNi-O/C and PtNi-O/C catalysts are demonstrated to be one of the best catalysts,with a mass activity(MA)of 9.1 and 8.7 mA/μgPt,which is 9.9-fold and 9.5-fold of that of Pt/C,respectively.

Decay constants of pseudoscalar mesons D,D_(s),η_(c) and vector mesons D^(*),D_(s)^(*),J/ψ are determined from the N_(f)=2+1 lattice QCD at a lattice spacing a~0.08 *** vector mesons,the decay constants defined by tensor currents are given in the MS scheme at 2 *** calculation is performed on domain wall fermion configurations generated by the RBC-UKQCD collaborations and the overlap fermion action is used for the valence *** the current results with our previous results at a coarser lattice spacing a ~0.11 fm provides a better understanding of the discretization *** obtain f_(D_(s)^(*))^(T)(MS,2 GeV)/f_(D_(s)^(*))=0.909(18)with a better precision than our previous *** our f_(D_(s)^(*))=277(11)MeV with the total width of D_(s)^(*) determined in a recent study gives a branching fraction 4.26(52)×10^(-5) for D_(s)^(*) leptonic decay.
