BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has left a significant impact on the world's health,economic and political systems;as of November 20,2020,more than 57 million people have been infected worldwide,with over 1.3 million *** the global spotlight is currently focused on combating this pandemic through means ranging from finding a treatment among existing therapeutic agents to inventing a vaccine that can aid in halting the further loss of *** To collect all systematic reviews and meta-analyses published related to COVID-19 to better identify available evidence,highlight gaps in knowledge,and elucidate further meta-analyses and umbrella reviews that are yet to be *** We explored studies based on systematic reviews and meta-analyses with the keyterms,including severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS),SARS virus,coronavirus disease,COVID-19,and SARS *** included studies were extracted from Embase,Medline,and Cochrane *** publication timeframe of included studies ranged between January 01,2020,to October 30,*** that were published in languages other than English were not considered for this systematic *** finalized full-text articles are freely accessible in the public *** Searching Embase,Medline,and Cochrane databases resulted in 1906,669,and 19 results,respectively,that comprised 2594 studies.515 duplicates were subsequently removed,leaving 2079 *** inclusion criteria were systematic reviews or meta-analyses.860 results were excluded for being a review article,scope review,rapid review,panel review,or guideline that produced a total of 1219 *** screening articles were categorized,the included articles were put into main groups of clinical presentation,epi-demiology,screening and diagnosis,severity assessment,special populations,and ***,there was a second subclassification into the following groups:gastrointestinal,cardiovascular,neurological,stro

The protein apoptoUc protease activating factor I （Apafl） is the central component of the apoptosome, a multiprotein complex that activates procaspase-9 after cytochrome c release from the mitochondria in the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis. We have developed a vital method that allows fluorescence-activated cell sorting of cells at different stages of the apoptotic pathway and demonstrated that upon pharmacological inhibition of Apafl, cells recover from doxorubicinor hypoxia-induced early apoptosis to normal healthy cell. Inhibiting Apafl not only prevents procaspase-9 activation but delays massive mitochondrial damage allowing cell recovery.

Experimental studies on phase equilibria and liquidus temperature in the PbO-ZnO-CaO-SiO2-＂Fe2O3＂ system,with the mass ratios of CaO/SiO2=1-1.6 and Fe/SiO2= 1.3-1.7,and 40% PbO and 8% ZnO,were carried out between 1273 and 1573 *** were equilibrated at 1273 to 1573 K and cooled rapidly by *** XRD and SEM-EDS results showed that the slag compositions are in the franklinite primary phase *** and lead silicates are formed between 1373 and 1473 *** Ca/Pb silicate and magnetoplumbite phases are partially formed by an incongruent *** experimental and thermodynamical results showed that the liquidus increased by increasing CaO/SiO2 mass ratio and decreasing Fe/SiO2 mass ratio.

Influence of surface roughness on the color of dental-resin composites

This study deals with the influence of surface roughness on the color of resin *** resin composites (microfilled,hybrid,and microhybrid) were each polished with 500-grit,1 200-grit,2 000-grit,and 4 000-grit SiC *** roughness parameter (Ra) was measured using a Plμ confocal microscope,and field-emission scanning electron microscope (Fe-SEM) images were used to investigate filler *** was measured using a spectroradiometer and a D65 standard illuminant (geometry diffuse/0° specular component excluded (SCE) mode).Surface roughness decreased with grit number and was not influenced by filler size or size distribution.A significant influence of Ra on lightness (L*) was *** increased with decreases in roughness,except for specimens that underwent polishing procedure 4 (PP4;500-grit,1 200-grit,2 000-grit,and 4 000-grit SiC papers consecutively).Generally,it was found that surface roughness influenced the color of resin *** composites that underwent PP1 (500-grit SiC paper) exhibited significant differences in chroma (C*),hue (h°),and lightness (L*) compared to composites that underwent PP3 (500-grit,1 200-grit,and 2 000-grit SiC papers consecutively) and *** difference (E*) between the polishing procedures was within acceptability thresholds in dentistry.

Avocado is one of the most important crops in the world, and Mexico is the largest producer of this fruit. Several insect pests affect its production, and thrips are amongst the most important. A key step in the design of control methods is accurate species identification. Despite this, formal reports on species diversity of thrips in Mexico are very scarce. Morphological identification can sometimes be time-consuming and inconclusive. Therefore, we explored the species diversity of thrips in Mexican avocado orchards （Michoacan state） based on partial sequences of the mitochondrial gene cytochrome oxidase subunit I （COl）. Forty-four specimens were analysed, which represented approximately 8% of all individuals collected from five localities distributed in three Municipalities. All specimens were analysed using the COl marker, and specimens within the genera Frankliniella were also analysed using a marker within the D2 domain of the 28S （28SD2） nuclear ribosomal DNA. Molecular identifications were confirmed using morphological taxonomy. Overall, six genera were found （Neohydatothrips, Scirtothrips, Frankliniella, Arorathrips, Caliothrips and Leptothrips）. AII genera contained only one species, except Frankliniella, for which there were six species. Data from the two molecular markers suggest the existence of cryptic species within Mexican F. occidentalis populations.

Activation and IL-1B secretion of human peripheral phagocytes infected with Actinomadura madurae,Nocardia asteroides and Candida albicans

Objective: To evaluate the ability of Actinomadura madurae(A. madurae) and Nocardia asteroids(N. asteroides), using Candida albicans(C. albicans) as prototypic control, to elicit the activation and IL-1β secretion of blood phagocytic cells from healthy donors. Methods: Microcopic evaluation of phagocytosis/activation, cell viability and spectrophotometric quantitation of endocytosis/activation, were assessed by using formazan blue test in human blood phagocytes infected with C. albicans, A. madurae or N. asteroides treated with either normal human serum(NHS) or with decomplemented NHS. Interlukin-1β from culture supernatants of infected polymorphonuclear was tested by ELISA kit assay. Results: Microscopic assay showed that phagocytosis and activation of adherent mononuclear phagocytes were greater with C. albicans followed by A. madurae and then by N. asteroides. Spectrophotometric assay in polymornuclear phagocytes infected with NHS-treated pathogens indicated that activation was similarly higher by C. albicans and A. madurae and lower by N. asteroides. Kinetic assays in infected polymorphonuclear cells showed that viability was decreased by C. albicans and N. asteroides or unaffected with A. madurae. Levels of IL-1β at 8 h of incubation were higher with C. albicans followed by A. madurae whereas lower levels were found with N. asteroides. Conclusions: The extent of cell-viability and activation as well IL-1β secretion may be related with the virulence of C. albicans and N. asteroides and other parameters remain to be explored for assesing the virulence of A. madurae.

AIM:To describe and evaluate the efficacy of Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation(AGV)combined with pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)in a single surgical act for the treatment of advanced neovascular glaucoma(NVG).METHODS:Retrospective observational case series included 51 eyes from 50 patients with severe NVG treated with PPV,AGV,and panretinal photocoagulation and/or cryotherapy in a single surgical act during a 13-year period(2005-2018).Preoperative,intraoperative and postoperative data at day 1 and months 1,3,6,21,and 24 were systematically *** of surgical success was stablished at IOP between 6 and 21 mm Hg with or without topical ***:Main indications for surgery were NVG secondary to proliferative diabetic retinopathy(39.2%)and central retinal vein occlusion(37.3%).Mean(±SD)preoperative IOP was 42.0±11.2 mm Hg decreasing to 15.5±7.1 mm Hg at 12 mo and 15.8±9.1 mm Hg at 24 mo of follow *** incidence of success of IOP control was 76.0%at first postoperative month,reaching 88.3%at 6 *** of successful IOP control at long term was 74.4%at 12 mo and 71.4%at 24 *** evisceration for unsuccessful NVG management was required in 1 case(2.0%).CONCLUSION:Combination of AGV implantation and PPV in a single act may be a suitable option for severe forms of NVG in a case-by-case basis for effective IOP control and a complete panretinal photocoagulation.

Effect of copper, sulfur, arsenic and antimony on silver distribution in phases of lead blast furnace

An experimental study was carried out to estimate the effect of the lead impurities on the silver distribution in the phases formed in the lead blast furnace. Samples of sinter with different contents of Cu, S, As and Sb were equilibrated under reducing atmosphere （p（CO）/p（CO2）=2.45） at 1573 K in a tube furnace and slowly cooled. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and microanalysis （SEM-EDS）. There were five immiscible phases：slag （CaO, FeO and SiO2）, matte （S, Cu and Fe）, speiss （As, Fe and Cu）, Cu-Sb phase and lead bullion （Pb, Ag, Sb, Cu, etc）. The results showed that Cu and Sb promote silver losses during the process since they form a liquid solution with higher silver solubility than liquid bullion. Sulfur and arsenic react with copper to form the matte and speiss phases, respectively. The effect of S and As is to reduce the amount of Cu-Sb alloy and then the silver losses from the bullion.
