Glycosyltransfe.ase. （GTs; e. 2.4.x.y） constitute.a large.group of e.zyme. that form glycosidic bonds through transfe. of sugars from activate. donor mole.ule. to acce.tor mole.ule.. GTs are.critical to the.biosynthe.is of plant ce.l walls, among othe. dive.se.functions. Base. on the.Carbohydrate.Active.e.Zyme. （CAZy） database.and se.ue.ce.***, we.have.ide.tifie. 609 pote.tial GT ge.e. （loci） corre.ponding to 769 transcripts （ge.e.mode.s） in rice.（Oryza sativa）, the.re.e.e.ce.monocotyle.onous spe.ie.. Using domain composition and se.ue.ce.similarity, the.e.rice.GTs we.e.classifie. into 40 CAZy familie. plus an additional unknown class. We.found that two Pfam domains of unknown function, PF04577 and PF04646, are.associate. with GT familie. GT61 and GT31, re.pe.tive.y. To facilitate.functional analysis of this important and large.ge.e.family, we.cre.te. a phyloge.omic Rice.GT Database.（http：//rice.hyloge.omics. ***/ce.lwalls/gtJ）. Through the.database. se.e.al classe. of functional ge.omic data, including mutant line. and ge.e.e.pre.sion data, can be.displaye. for e.ch rice.GT in the.conte.t of a phyloge.e.ic tre., allowing for comparative.analysis both within and be.we.n GT familie.. Compre.e.sive.digital e.pre.sion analysis of public ge.e.e.pre.sion data re.e.le. that most （-80%） rice.GTs are.e.pre.se.. Base. on analysis with Inparanoid, we.ide.tifie. 282 ‘rice.dive.ge.＇ GTs that lack orthologs in se.ue.ce. dicots （Arabidopsis thaliana, Populus tricocarpa, Me.icago truncatula, and Ricinus communis）. Combining the.e.analyse., we.ide.tifie. 33 rice.dive.ge. GT ge.e. （45 ge.e.mode.s） that are.highly e.pre.se. in above.ground, ve.e.ative.tissue.. From the.lite.ature.and this analysis, 21 of the.e.loci are.e.ce.le.t targe.s for functional e.amination toward unde.standing and manipulating grass ce.l wall qualitie..
