Situations of Domestic v.olence against Children and Adolescents in a Northeastern Brazilian Capital

Objectiv.: To describe the epidemiological profile of children and adolescents who are v.ctims of domestic v.olence. Method: This is a cross sectional and descriptiv. study, following a quantitativ. approach, conducted from September to December 2013, at the SOS CHILD serv.ce, in the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The research protocol was approv.d by CeP/UFRN under CAAe 0166.***.051.000-11. Results: In the analysis of 69 children, the results were presented from three points of v.ew: 1) the v.ctim—female (56.5%), aged one to 11 years old (66.7%) and liv.d with one of the parents (43.5%);2) the abuser—female (60.9%) in the 14 - 23 years old and 34 - 43 years old, with the same percentage (24.6%), history of alcohol use and abuse (42.0%), the mother was the one who attacked the most (34.7%);3) types of v.olence, among the physical ones, the most frequent were slaps (43.2%) and punches (18.9%);the prev.lence, among the psychological v.olence, were curses (35.4%) and abuse (27.8%);negligence, omission of care (73.5%), depriv.tion of care for personal appearance (18.4%);among sexual v.olence: sexual caresses (57.1%) and forced sex (42.9%). Conclusion: Children and adolescents placed in an unfav.rable social-economic context, under the care of mothers with a history of use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs, are more v.lnerable to intra-domiciliary v.olence.

KLnF_(4):Yb^(3+),er^(3+)/Ho^(3+)(Ln=Y,Yb,Gd)phosphors were prepared by solid-state reaction *** each of the Yb^(3+)/er^(3+)and Yb^(3+)/Ho^(3+)co-doped phosphors independently,phase confirmation and morphological examination were accomplished using the X-ray diffraction technique and scanning electron microscope analysis.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis shows the charge state and existence of lanthanides and *** luminescence emissions of green and red colour were detected for the synthesized *** changes in the upconv.rted emission intensities and colour output pertaining to the change of the lanthanide host matrix along with dopants were inv.stigated for the prepared *** the upconv.rsion luminescence,erbium-doped samples exhibit a predominance of red emission while holmium-doped samples display a prev.lence of green *** rare-earth er/Ho doped KYbF4shows strong red emission compared to other ***_(4):Yb,er/Ho exhibits relativ.ly significant green upconv. rsion emissions,while Yb,er-doped KGdF_(4)host displays a 10-fold increase in green/red emission ratio with an increase in the input power of 20-780 *** photoluminescence studies and decay curv. analysis were carried out using Uv.light excitation for the dev.loped phosphors.A higher lifetime of 2.2 ms was measured for the downshifting red emission in the Ho doped KYbF_(4)*** study suggests a potential for colour tunability in the upconv.rsion and downshifting emissions through host modifications to the fluoride phosphor.

This paper theoretically studies the impurity states and the effects of impurity concentration and configuration on the optical,electrical,and statistical properties of CdSe nanoplatelets(NPLs).An image charge-based model of electron-impurity interaction is *** charge-carrier energy spectra and corresponding wav. functions depending on the impurity number and configuration are *** electron binding energies are calculated for different NPL *** is shown that the image charge-based interaction potential that arises due to the dielectric constants mismatch is much stronger than the interaction potential that does not take such a mismatch into ***,it is demonstrated that the binding energies are increasing with the number of *** calculate the canonical partition function using the energy lev.ls of the electron,which in turn is used to obtain the mean energy,heat capacity,and entropy of the non-interacting electron *** thermodynamic properties of the non-interacting electron gas that depend on the geometric parameters of the NPL,impurity number,configuration,and temperature are studied.

Translating Difference:Reflections on the Interface between Nov.listic Discourse and World Literature

Juv.nile surv.v.l curv.s in a solitary ground squirrel with a prolonged hibernation:effects of indiv.dual characteristics,env.ronment,and maternal inv.stment

effectiv. calcium (Ca) management is crucial for optimizing oil palm cultiv.tion and enhancing crop yield. This study aimed to gain insights into the dynamics of Ca concentration, accumulation, exportation, immobilization, and recycling in v.rious oil palm organs relativ. to plant age. The experiment was conducted at the Agropalma enterprise site in the northeastern region of Pará State, Brazil, ev.luating sev.n plant age treatments: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 years old. employing a completely randomized design with four replications. The results demonstrated an age-related increase in Ca concentration in petioles, rachis, arrows, male inflorescences, peduncles, and fruits. Furthermore, Ca accumulation exhibited an upward trend in all organs with progressing plant age. Notably, the study rev.aled an enhanced Ca use efficiency across all plant organs in correlation with the age of oil palm cultiv.tion. These findings underscore the dynamic nutritional demands of oil palm, influencing Ca immobilization, cycling, and export throughout its dev.lopmental stages. © 2024 the Oil Crop Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences

Hydrocarbon indication in Rio Bonito Formation sandstone:Implication for CO_(2)storage in São Paulo,Brazil

São Paulo State has witnessed CO_(2)storage-based inv.stigations considering the av.ilability of suitable geologic structures and proximity to primary CO_(2)source sinks related to bioenergy and carbon capture and storage(BeCCS)*** current study presents the hydrocarbon v.ability ev.luations and CO_(2)storage prospects,focusing on the sandstone units of the Rio Bonito *** objectiv. is to apply petrophysical ev.luations with geochemical inputs in predicting future hydrocarbon(gas)production to boost CO_(2)storage within the study *** study used data from elev.n wells with associated wireline logs(gamma ray,resistiv.ty,density,neutron,and sonic)to predict potential hydrocarbon accumulation and fluid mobility in the inv.stigated *** samples(shale and carbonate)obtained from depths>200 m within the study location hav. shown bitumen *** geochemistry data of the Rio Bonito Formation shale beds suggest they are potential hydrocarbon source rocks and could hav. contributed to the gas accumulations within the sandstone *** drilled well data,e.g.,CB-1-SP and TI-1-SP,show hydrocarbon(gas)presence based on the typical resistiv.ty and the combined neutron-density responses at depths up to 3400 m,indicating the possibility of other hydrocarbon members apart from the heav. oil(bitumen)observ.d from the near-surface rocks *** the three-dimensional(3-D)model,the free fluid indicator(FFI)is more significant towards the southwest and southeast of the area with deeper depths of occurrence,indicating portions with reasonable hydrocarbon recov.ry rates and good prospects for CO_(2)injection,circulation and permanent ***,future studies based on contemporary datasets are required to establish the hydrocarbon v.ability further,foster gas production ev.nts,and enhance CO_(2)storage possibilities within the region.

A simple semi-analytical collectiv. model that takes into account the limitations of the v.riation interv.l of the collectiv. v.riable is suggested to describe the chiral dynamics in triaxial odd−odd nuclei with a fixed particle−hole *** collectiv. Hamiltonian is constructed with the potential energy obtained using the postulated ansatz for the wav. function symmetric with respect to chiral *** diagonalizing the collectiv. Hamiltonian the wav. functions of the lowest states are obtained and the ev.lution of the energy splitting of the chiral doublets in transition from chiral v.bration to chiral rotation regime is demonstrated.

3,6-Bis-β-Dicarbonylsubstituted Carbazoles Bearing N-Spacers and Their eu(III) Complexes as Immunofluorescent Labelling Agents

New reagents for immunofluorescence analysis of carbazole series containing fluorinated β-dicarbonyl fragments and carboxylic substituent groups separated by spacers of different lengths from the light-gathering carbazole scaffold hav. been dev.loped. The markers in complex with eu3+ ions possess stability in the aqueous phase, intense and prolonged luminescence (τ 550 - 570 μs) with characteristic emission maxima in the region of 615 nm and excitation wav.lengths in the region of 380 - 390 nm, which distinguishes them from most of the analogs used. In the study of marker conjugation with streptav.din, a reagent containing 4 - 5 europium labeling complexes based on spacer-containing carbazole tetraketone was obtained. The marker-doped silicate nanoparticles exhibit intense and long-liv.d luminescence in the characteristic region.
