Highly sensitive gas sensors with remarkably low detection limits are attractive for diverse practical application fields including real-time environmental monitoring,exhaled breath diagnosis,and food freshness analysis.Among various chemiresistive sensing materials,noble metal-decorated semiconducting metal oxides(SMOs)have currently aroused extensive attention by virtue of the unique electronic and catalytic properties of noble metals.This review highlights the research progress on the designs and applications of different noble metal-decorated SMOs with diverse nanostructures(e.g.,nanoparticles,nanowires,nanorods,nanosheets,nanoflowers,and microspheres)for high-performance gas sensors with higher response,faster response/recovery speed,lower operating temperature,and ultra-low detection limits.The key topics include Pt,Pd,Au,other noble metals(e.g.,Ag,Ru,and Rh.),and bimetals-decorated SMOs containing ZnO,SnO_(2),WO_(3),other SMOs(e.g.,In_(2)O_(3),Fe_(2)O_(3),and CuO),and heterostructured SMOs.In addition to conventional devices,the innovative applications like photo-assisted room temperature gas sensors and mechanically flexible smart wearable devices are also discussed.Moreover,the relevant mechanisms for the sensing performance improvement caused by noble metal decoration,including the electronic sensitization effect and the chemical sensitization effect,have also been summarized in detail.Finally,major challenges and future perspectives towards noble metal-decorated SMOs-based chemiresistive gas sensors are proposed.

The prevalence of allergic diseases,such as asthma,rhinitis,eczema,and sick building syndrome(SBS),has increased drastically in the past few decades.Current medications can only relieve the symptoms but not cure these diseases whose development is suggested to be greatly impacted by the indoor microbiome.However,no study comprehensively summarizes the progress and general rules in the field,impeding subsequent translational application.To close knowledge gaps between theoretical research and practical application,we conducted a comprehensive literature review to summarize the epidemiological,environmental,and molecular evidence of indoor microbiome studies.Epidemiological evidence shows that the potential protective indoor microorganisms for asthma are mainly from the phyla Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria,and the risk microorganisms are mainly from Bacilli,Clostridia,and Bacteroidia.Due to extremely high microbial diversity and geographic variation,different health-associated species/genera are detected in different regions.Compared with indoor microbial composition,indoor metabolites show more consistent associations with health,including microbial volatile organic compounds(MVOCs),lipopolysaccharides(LPS),indole derivatives,and flavonoids.Therefore,indoor metabolites could be a better indicator than indoor microbial taxa for environmental assessments and health outcome prediction.The interaction between the indoor microbiome and environmental characteristics(surrounding greenness,relative humidity,building confinement,and CO_(2) concentration)and immunology effects of indoor microorganisms(inflammatory cytokines and pattern recognition receptors)are briefly reviewed to provide new insights for disease prevention and treatment.Widely used tools in indoor microbiome studies are introduced to facilitate standard practice and the precise identification of health-related targets.

Analysis of the Mechanism of Water Inrush Geohazards in Deep-Buried Tunnels under the Complex Geological Environment of Karst Cave-Fractured Zone

To study the mechanism and evolution process of water inrush geohazards under the complex geological environment of the karst cave-fractured zone,a large-scale physical threedimensional(3 D)model test was first performed.Then the conceptual model for the evolution process of water inrush geohazards and the simplified theoretical model for the critical hydraulic pressure were both established based on the main characteristics of the water inrush geohazard in the engineering background and that in the model test.A new method was developed for modeling the geological environment of the karst cave-structural plane,and two formulae describing the critical water pressure of water inrush geohazards under two failure models of tensile-shear fracture failure and compressionshear fracture failure were also deduced based on fracture mechanics.The results showed that:(1)the evolution process of the water inrush geohazard can be divided into four stages,which include the initial balance,the propagation of original cracks,the formation of the dominant water inrush channel,and the instability of the waterproof rock mass;(2)the suddenness of water inrush geohazards becomes stronger with the increase of the hydraulic pressure;(3)the calculated critical hydraulic pressure of water inrush geohazards is similar to the measured critical hydraulic pressure in the model test,which validated the accuracies of the theoretical model,and the failure model of water inrush geohazards in this research is compression-shear fracture failure.

Fast drilling electrical discharge machining(EDM)is widely used in the manufacture of film cooling holes of turbine blades.However,due to the various hole orientations and severe electrode wear,it is relatively intricate to accurately and timely identify the critical moments such as breakout,hole completion in the drilling process,and adjust the machining strategy properly.Existing breakout detection and hole completion determination methods are not suitable for the high-efficiency and fully automatic production of film cooling holes,for they almost all depend on preset thresholds or training data and become less appropriate when machining condition changes.As the breakout and hole completion detection problems can be abstracted to an online stage identification problem,in this paper,a kurtosis-based stage identification(KBSI)method,which uses a novel normalized kurtosis to denote the recent changing trends of gap voltage signals,is developed for online stage identification.The identification accuracy and generalization ability of the KBSI method have been verified in various machining conditions.To improve the overall machining efficiency,the influence of servo control parameters on machining efficiency of each machining stage was analyzed experimentally,and a new stage-wise adaptive control strategy was then proposed to dynamically adjust the servo control parameters according to the online identification results.The performance of the new strategy is evaluated by drilling film cooling holes at different hole orientations.Experimental results show that with the new control strategy,machining efficiency and the machining quality can be significantly improved.

Ginkgo leave, a naturally abundant resource, has been successfully employed as the raw material to prepare ni- trogen doped porous carbon （NDPC） materials. The preparation of the porous carbon does not involve assistance of any activation or template technique. The as-obtained NDPC shows favorable features for electrochemical energy storage, which can not only provide multiple sites for the storage and insertion of Li ions, but also facilitate rapid mass transport of electrons and Li ions. As a result, the NDPC when evaluated as an anode material for lithium ion batteries delivers high reversible capacity （505 mAh·g-1 at 0.1 C）, excellent rate capability （190 mAh·g-1 at 10 C）. These favorable properties suggest that the NDPC can be a promising anode material for lithium ion batteries （LIBs）.

Transient Dynamic Analysis of A Variable-Length Rope-Driven Wave Energy System

A new dynamic model of a variable-length rope,which could be used for the transient analysis of a buoy-rope-generator(BRG)wave energy system,was proposed in this paper.The model started from the basic dynamic equations of variable mass system,and took into account the physical properties such as axial force,shear and bending.According to the principle of D'Alembert-Lagrange,the equivalent integral weak formulation was firstly obtained,and through consistent linearization and isoparametric discretization,the finite element model of the variable-length rope was then derived.The Bathe scheme was employed to solve the model numerically,based on its excellent performance in solving nonlinear dynamic problems,and an automatic time step size algorithm was designed according to the number of iterations of the two substeps of Bathe scheme.The procedures of rope mesh regeneration were also put forward,where only one variable-length element was always located at the top end of the rope,and the rest were all fixed-length elements.The proposed variable-length rope model and solution schemes were verified through comparison with the results of a tank experiment.Finally,the transient dynamics of a kind of BRG system was analyzed and discussed.

With the increasing scale of energy storage,it is urgently demanding for further advancements on battery technologies in terms of energy density,cost,cycle life and safety.The development of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)not only relies on electrodes,but also the functional electrolyte systems to achieve controllable formation of solid electrolyte interphase and high ionic conductivity.In order to satisfy the needs of higher energy density,high-voltage(>4.3 V)cathodes such as Li-rich layered compounds,olivine LiNiPO_(4),spinel LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) have been extensively studied.However,high-voltage cathodebased LIBs fade rapidly mainly owing to the anodic decomposition of electrolytes,gradually thickening of interfacial passivation layer and vast irreversible capacity loss,hence encountering huge obstacle toward practical applications.To tackle this roadblock,substantial progress has been made toward oxidation-resistant electrolytes to block its side reaction with high-voltage cathodes.In this review,we discuss degradation mechanisms of electrolytes at electrolyte/cathode interface and ideal requirements of electrolytes for high-voltage cathode,as well as summarize recent advances of oxidation-resistant electrolyte optimization mainly from solvents and additives.With these insights,it is anticipated that development of liquid electrolyte tolerable to high-voltage cathode will boost the large-scale practical applications of high-voltage cathode-based LIBs.

对西安市1991-2000年各河流断面的水质监测资料进行分析,结果表明:20世纪90年代,各河流中未出现过好于III类的水质。河流的污染物主要以石油类和非离子氨为主。选取城市化率、建成区面积和第一、二、三产业产值作为西安城市化进程的代用指标。通过相关分析表明,城市化过程中的5个代用指标均是造成地表水水质污染的重要因素,但各自影响的污染物种类有所差异。90年代,在加强了环保力度和产业结构调整等多种因素的综合作用下,西安市地表水水质污染指数呈现波动性下降趋势。

miRNA-let-7i modulates status epilepticus via the TLR4 pathway

Background:Status epilepticus(SE)is a neurological emergency associated with high mortality and morbidity.Many SE episodes cannot be quickly and effectively terminated with current medications.miRNA-Let-7i,a member of the miRNA-Let-7 family,has been found to be associated with a variety of brain pathophysiological and neurological diseases.However,its role in SE remains elusive and requires further clarification.Methods:The expression of miRNA-Let-7i was detected in temporal lobe epilepsy(TLE)patients and SE model rats using the real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)method.Behavioral assays were performed in pilocarpine-induced SE model,and a whole-cell current clamp technique was employed to examine neuronal excitability.Neuronal apoptosis was evaluated by Nissl staining and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP end-labeling(TUNEL)assays.Results:The expression of miRNA-Let-7i was significantly reduced in the cortex and hippocampus of SE rats.The miRNA-Let-7i agomir and antagomir effectively regulated the levels of miRNA-Let-7i.In particular,the agomir significantly reduced the degree of SE and prolonged the latent period of SE,whereas the antagomir increased the degree of seizures and shortened the latent period.In addition,the agomir significantly decreased the frequency of action potentials,while the antagomir significantly increased it.Nissl staining and TUNEL assays demonstrated that the agomir increased the survival and decreased the apoptosis,while the antagomir had the opposite effects.In addition,a Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)inhibitor rescued the effects of antagomir on SE behavior and expression of IL-6 and TNF-α.Similar results on miRNA-Let-7i expression and effects of TLR4 inhibition were found in brain tissues of TLE patients.Conclusions:The miRNA-Let-7i−TLR4 regulatory pathway is involved in SE,which provides insights into the pathogenesis of SE.
