A pair of nuclear factor Y transcription factors act as positive regulators in jasmonate signaling and disease resistance in Arabidopsis

The plant hormone jasmonate(JA)regulates plant growth and immunity by orchestrating a genome-wide transcriptional *** the resting stage,JASMONATE-ZIM DOMAIN(JAZ)proteins act as main repressors to regulate the expression of JA-responsive genes in the JA signaling ***,the mechanisms underlying de-repression of JA-responsive genes in response to JA treatment remain ***,we report two nuclear factor Y transcription factors NF-YB2.and NF-YB3(thereafter YB2.and YB3)play key roles in such de-repression in ***2.and YB3 function redundantly and positively regulate plant resistance against the necrotrophic pathogen Botrytis cinerea,which are specially required for transcriptional activation of a set of JA-responsive genes following ***,YB2.and YB3 modulated their expression through direct occupancy and interaction with histone demethylase Ref6 to remove repressive histone ***,YB2.and YB3 physically interacted with JAZ repressors and negatively modulated their abundance,which in turn attenuated the inhibition of JAZ proteins on the transcription of JA-responsive genes,thereby activating JA response and promoting disease ***,our study reveals the positive regulators of YB2.and YB3 in JA signaling by positively regulating transcription of JA-responsive genes and negatively modulating the abundance of JAZ proteins.

Influenza A virus(IAV)binds sialic acid receptors on the cell surface to enter the host cells,which is the key step in initiating infection,transmission and *** the factors that contribute to the highly efficient entry of IAV into human cells will help elucidate the mechanism of viral entry and pathogenicity,and provide new targets for *** the present study,we reported a novel membrane protein,C1QTNF5,which binds to the hemagglutinin protein of IAV and promotes IAV infection in vitro and in *** found that the HA1 region of IAV hemagglutinin is critical for the interaction with C1QTNF5 protein,and C1QTNF5 interacts with hemagglutinin mainly through its N-terminus(1–103 aa).In addition,we further demonstrated that overexpression of C1QTNF5 promotes IAV entry,while blocking the interaction between C1QTNF5 and IAV hemagglutinin greatly inhibits viral ***,C1QTNF5 does not function as a receptor to mediate IAV infection in sialic acid-deficient CHO-Lec2.cells,but promotes IAV to attach to these cells,suggesting that C1QTNF5 is an important attachment factor for *** work reveals C1QTNF5 as a novel IAV attachment factor and provides a new perspective for antiviral strategies.

Thermal comfort is critical for ensuring the health and productivity of occupants and knowing their thermal demand could help creat a satisfying environment with the least energy *** of thermal comfort is built based on experimental studies in uniform and stable environments,while there is still a gap when applying in evaluating human thermal comfort in non-uniform thermal ***,an insight into human thermal comfort in non-uniform thermal environments is *** fundamental studies of thermal comfort in non-uniform thermal environments are explicated,including thermal comfort theory applied in non-uniform thermal environments,types of non-uniform thermal environments and corresponding studies,physiological and psychological thermal responses in the ***,the evaluation indices of non-uniform thermal environments are classified according to their definitions and the comfort models are ***,future works in this research field are *** general,the overall thermal comfort and local thermal comfort should be both taken into account in non-uniform thermal environments where skin temperatures and psychological thermal responses of occupants are different among local body ***,as studies of local thermal comfort are mainly conducted in thermally neutral condition,the limits considering the state deviating thermal neutrality(slightly warm or cool),which is frequently found in reality,are encouraged to be ***,a well-defined comprehensive index should be proposed considering heat exchange of human body with their microenvironments and thus the comfort range of the index could be provided for designing of non-uniform thermal environments.

An Innovative Coupled Common-Node Discrete Element Method-Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Model Developed with LS-DYNA and Its Applications

In this study,a common-node DEM-SPH coupling model based on the shared node method is proposed,and a fluid–structure coupling method using the common-node discrete element method-smoothed particle hydrodynamics(DS-SPH)method is developed using LS-DYNA *** DEM and SPH are established on the same node to create common-node DEM-SPH particles,allowing for fluid–structure *** simulations of various scenarios,including water entry of a rigid sphere,dam-break propagation over wet beds,impact on an ice plate floating on water and ice accumulation on offshore structures,are *** interaction between DS particles and SPH fluid and the crack generation mechanism and expansion characteristics of the ice plate under the interaction of structure and fluid are also *** results are compared with available data to verify the proposed coupling ***,the simulation results demonstrated that controlling the cutoff pressure of internal SPH particles could effectively control particle splashing during ice crushing failure.

Non-contact wide-field viewing system-assisted scleral buckling surgery for retinal detachment in silicone oilfilled eyes

AIM:To evaluate scleral buckling(SB)surgery using a noncontact wide-field viewing system and 2.-gauge intraocular illumination for the treatment of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in silicone oil(SO)-filled ***:Totally 9 patients(9 eyes)with retinal detachment in SO-filled eyes were retrospectively *** patients underwent non-contact wide-field viewing system-assisted buckling surgery with 2.-gauge intraocular *** was removed at an appropriate time based on *** patients were followed up for at least 3mo after SO *** reattachment,complications,visual acuity and intraocular pressure(IOP)before and after surgery were ***:Patients were followed up for a mean of 8.2.mo(3-2.mo)after SO *** patients had retinal *** the final follow-up,visual acuity showed improvement for 8 patients,and no change for 1 *** IOP was high in 3 patients before surgery,but it stabilized after treatment;it was not affected in the other *** of the patients had infections,hemorrhage,anterior ischemia,or any other ***:This new non-contact wide-field viewing system-assisted SB surgery with 2.-gauge intraocular illumination is effective and safe for retinal detachment in SO-filled eyes.

A real-time calibration method based on time-to-digital converter for accelerator timing system

The high-intensity heavy-ion accelerator facility(HIAF)is a scientific research facility complex composed of multiple cas-cade accelerators of different types,which pose a scheduling problem for devices distributed over a certain range of 2.km,involving over a hundred *** white rabbit,a technology-enhancing Gigabit Ethernet,has shown the capability of scheduling distributed timing devices but still faces the challenge of obtaining real-time synchronization calibration param-eters with high *** study presents a calibration system based on a time-to-digital converter implemented on an ARM-based System-on-Chip(SoC).The system consists of four multi-sample delay lines,a bubble-proof encoder,an edge controller for managing data from different channels,and a highly effective calibration module that benefits from the SoC *** performance was evaluated with an average RMS precision of 5.51 ps by measuring the time intervals from 0 to 2.,000 ps with 12.,000 data for every *** design presented in this study refines the calibration precision of the HIAF timing *** eliminates the errors caused by manual calibration without efficiency loss and provides data support for fault *** can also be easily tailored or ported to other devices for specific applications and provides more space for developing timing systems for particle accelerators,such as white rabbits on HIAF.

Poly(3-hexylthio) thiophene Field-effect Transistor Device Performance: Impact of the Content of Hexylthio Side Chain on Backbone

Regioregular poly(3-hexylthio)thiopene(P3HTT) has emerged tremendous potential in organic electronic applications due to the strong noncovalent interactions from the sulfur atom linked to thiophene. However, P3HTT generally exhibits low charge mobility mostly due to poor solution processability attributed to dense arrangement of hexylthio side chain in polymer, which led to strong noncovalent interactions among sulfur atoms. To balance the nonvalent interaction and aggregation for P3HTT, herein, we systematically study the effect of hexylthio side chain content in polymer backbone on the structure and properties. A series of regioregular P3HTT-based homopolymers(P3HTT, P3HTT-50,P3HTT-33 and P3HTT-2.) were prepared via Kumada catalyst transfer polycondensation method from a set of mono-, bi-, ter-and quarterthiophenes containing different contents of hexylthio side chain. The DFT calculation shows the planarity of polymers backbone could be improved through reducing the density of hexylthio side chain in polymer mainchain. And significant changes in their crystallinity, aggregation and optical properties were observed with the content of hexylthio side chain reducing. The P3HTT-33 displayed the highest field-effect transistor hole mobility of 2.83×10^(-2. cm^(2.·V^(-1)·s^(-1) resulting from a balance between the crystallinity and planarity. This study demonstrates modulating the content of hexylthio side chain in P3HTT is an effective strategy to optimize the opto-electronic properties of polymer obtaining excellent semiconductor device performance.
