All laser direct writing process for temperature sensor based on graphene and silver

A highly sensitive temperature sensing array is prepared by all laser direct writing(LDW)method,using laser induced silver(LIS)as electrodes and laser induced graphene(LIG)as temperature sensing layer.A finite element analysis(FEA)photothermal model incorporating a phase transition mechanism is developed to investigate the relationship between laser parameters and LIG properties,providing guidance for laser processing parameters selection with laser power of 1–5 W and laser scanning speed(greater than 50 mm/s).The deviation of simulation and experimental data for widths and thickness of LIG are less than 5%and 9%,respectively.The electrical properties and temperature responsiveness of LIG are also studied.By changing the laser process parameters,the thickness of the LIG ablation grooves can be in the range of 30–120μm and the resistivity of LIG can be regulated within the range of 0.031–67.2Ω・m.The percentage temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR)is calculated as−0.58%/°C.Furthermore,the FEA photothermal model is studied through experiments and simulations data regarding LIS,and the average deviation between experiment and simulation is less than 5%.The LIS sensing samples have a thickness of about 14μm,an electrical resistivity of 0.0001–100Ω・m is insensitive to temperature and pressure stimuli.Moreover,for a LIS-LIG based temperature sensing array,a correction factor is introduced to compensate for the LIG temperature sensing being disturbed by pressure stimuli,the temperature measurement difference is decreased from 11.2 to 2.6°C,indicating good accuracy for temperature measurement.

High-performance Si/VO_(2)-nanorod heterojunction photodetector based on photothermoelectric effect for detecting human radiation

As a typical candidate of optoelectronic materials,vanadium dioxide(VO_(2))has wide applications in photodetectors(PDs),but is still challenging in largely enhancing the photodetecting performance for low-power human radiation.Herein,high-performance Si/VO_(2)nanorods(NRs)heterojunction PDs based on the photothermoelectric(PTE)effect are presented.The uniform VO_(2)-NRs array films were deposited on Si by using magnetron sputtering technique,and a Si/VO_(2)heterojunctions were fabricated.The device exhibits a four-stage photoresponse and broadband photoresponse from ultraviolet to long-wavelength infrared.Benefited from the unique nanorods structure and the strong PTE effect,the fabricated device exhibits a large enhancement of the photodetecting performance,showing an ultrahigh photodetectivity of 1.6×10^(13)Jones and ultrafast response rates with a risingedge time of~65.0μs,three orders of magnitude higher than other VO_(2)-based devices.Furthermore,the device exhibits unique abilities to detect human radiation even when the human fingers are far away from the device surface up to 10.0 cm.Additionally,the fabricated Si/VO_(2)devices can also be applied as breath sensors to distinguish different breathing patterns.These results supply an effective route to design high-performance photodetectors toward detecting human thermal radiation and respiration.

Dynamic foraging strategy adaptation to heterogeneous environments contributes to social aggregation in snub-nosed monkeys

The dynamics of animal social structures are heavily influenced by environmental patterns of competition and cooperation.In folivorous colobine primates,prevailing theories suggest that larger group sizes should be favored in rainforests with a year-round abundance of food,thereby reducing feeding competition.Yet,paradoxically,larger groups are frequently found in high-altitude or high-latitude montane ecosystems characterized by a seasonal scarcity of leaves.This contradiction is posited to arise from cooperative benefits in heterogeneous environments.To investigate this hypothesis,we carried out a six-year field study on two neighboring groups of golden snub-nosed monkey(Rhinopithecus roxellana),a species representing the northernmost distribution of colobine primates.Results showed that the groups adjusted their movement and habitat selection in response to fluctuating climates and spatiotemporal variability of resources,indicative of a dynamic foraging strategy.Notably,during the cold,resource-scarce conditions in winter,the large group occupied food-rich habitats but did not exhibit significantly longer daily travel distances than the smaller neighboring group.Subsequently,we compiled an eco-behavioral dataset of 52 colobine species to explore their evolutionary trajectories.Analysis of this dataset suggested that the increase in group size may have evolved via home range expansion in response to the cold and heterogeneous climates found at higher altitudes or latitudes.Hence,we developed a multi-benefits framework to interpret the formation of larger groups by integrating environmental heterogeneity.In cold and diverse environments,even smaller groups require larger home ranges to meet their dynamic survival needs.The spatiotemporal distribution of high-quality resources within these expanded home ranges facilitates more frequent interactions between groups,thereby encouraging social aggregation into larger groups.This process enhances the benefits of collaborative actions and reproductive opportunities,whi

Comparative studies on Fenton-like reactions catalyzed by Fe_(3)O_(4) loaded inside and outside halloysite nanotubes for the removal of organic pollutants

In this work,Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles(NPs)loaded inside and outside halloysite nanotubes(HNTs)were prepared and developed as the heterogeneous Fenton-like catalysts for the removal of representative organic pollutants.Characterization results indicated that the samples with Fe_(3)O_(4) NPs loaded outside the HNTs lumen(Fe_(3)O_(4)/HNTs)and inside the HNTs lumen(Fe_(3)O_(4)@HNTs)were successfully prepared.Both samples had typical magnetic hysteresis loops,while Fe_(3)O_(4)@HNTs exhibited higher magnetization intensity.The comparative experiments showed that Fe_(3)O_(4)@HNTs had better Fenton-like catalytic ability than that of Fe_(3)O_(4)/HNTs in the degradation of various organic pollutants.Taking Rhodamine B(RhB)as an example,the adsorption thermodynamics and kinetics of RhB onto Fe_(3)O_(4)/HNTs and Fe_(3)O_(4)@HNTs were also investigated.The comparative results demonstrated that the adsorption ability of Fe_(3)O_(4)/HNTs was better than that of Fe_(3)O_(4)@HNTs.Moreover,the dissolved concentration of Fe^(2+)and production amount of hydroxyl radical(·OH)in the Fe_(3)O_(4)@HNTs-H_(2)O_(2) system were significantly higher than those in the Fe_(3)O_(4)/HNTs-H_(2)O_(2) system.Based on aforementioned comparison,the nano-confinement effect in the Fe_(3)O_(4)@HNTs-H_(2)O_(2) system was verified.This work provides meaningful guidance for the cheap and convenient design of nanoreactors for Fenton-like applications.

Hollow Metal-Organic Framework/MXene/Nanocellulose Composite Films for Giga/Terahertz Electromagnetic Shielding and Photothermal Conversion

With the continuous advancement of communication technology,the escalating demand for electromagnetic shielding interference(EMI)materials with multifunctional and wideband EMI performance has become urgent.Controlling the electrical and magnetic components and designing the EMI material structure have attracted extensive interest,but remain a huge challenge.Herein,we reported the alternating electromagnetic structure composite films composed of hollow metal-organic frameworks/layered MXene/nanocellulose(HMN)by alternating vacuum-assisted filtration process.The HMN composite films exhibit excellent EMI shielding effectiveness performance in the GHz frequency(66.8 dB at Kaband)and THz frequency(114.6 dB at 0.1-4.0 THz).Besides,the HMN composite films also exhibit a high reflection loss of 39.7 dB at 0.7 THz with an effective absorption bandwidth up to 2.1 THz.Moreover,HMN composite films show remarkable photothermal conversion performance,which can reach 104.6℃under 2.0 Sun and 235.4℃under 0.8 W cm^(−2),respectively.The unique micro-and macrostructural design structures will absorb more incident electromagnetic waves via interfacial polarization/multiple scattering and produce more heat energy via the local surface plasmon resonance effect.These features make the HMN composite film a promising candidate for advanced EMI devices for future 6G communication and the protection of electronic equipment in cold environments.

Silvestrol alleviates glioblastoma progression through ERK pathway modulation and MANBA and NRG-1 expression

Background:Glioblastoma,a notably malignant tumor within the central nervous system,is distinguished by its aggressive behavior.Silvestrol,a robust inhibitor of the RNA helicase eukaryotic initiation factor 4A(eIF4A),has shown significant potential as an anticancer compound.Yet,the impact of silvestrol on glioblastoma,especially its molecular mechanisms,has not been fully elucidated.Methods:This investigation employed a variety of in vitro assays,such as cell counting kit-8(CCK-8),clonogenic,5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine(EDU),wound healing,and flow cytometry,to evaluate cell cycle progression,apoptosis,cell viability,and migration.Western blot analysis was also performed to study the apoptosis and extracellular regulated kinase(ERK)pathways.After the ERK pathway was inhibited,differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in U87 cells were identified,followed by an analysis of target genes using the gene expression profiling interactive analysis(GEPIA)database.Results:Silvestrol significantly suppressed the proliferation,migration,and colony formation of glioma cells.It caused cell cycle arrest and enhanced apoptosis in these cells.Additionally,silvestrol stimulated the ERK pathway,with these effects being reversible by an ERK phosphorylation inhibitor.Transcriptome combined with GEPIA,GSCA,UALCAN,TIMER database screened 4 potential drug targets of silvestrol:chromosome 1 open reading frame 226(C1ORF226),mannosidase beta A(MANBA),IQ motif and Sec7 domain 2(IQSEC2),neuregulin 1(NRG-1).Among them,C1ORF226 was lower risk gene while MANBA,IQSEC2,and NRG-1 were high-risk genes.Furthermore,silvestrol notably reduced MANBA mRNA levels,which could be reversed by inhibiting ERK phosphorylation.Furthermore,silvestrol markedly decreased NRG-1 protein levels,with an additional reduction observed when the ERK pathway was blocked.Conclusion:Silvestrol’s anti-glioma effects are primarily due to the suppression of MANBA expression via the ERK pathway and possibly by hindering the translation of NRG-1 protein,thus reducing its expression.The do

Pulmonary rehabilitation protocols in urgent lung transplantation patients

BACKGROUND:Prolonged invasive respiratory support and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)in patients requiring urgent lung transplantation(ULTx)present signifi cant challenges to clinical practice due to severe underlying diseases and complex conditions.The aim of the study was to report the clinical outcomes of patients who received ULTx and followed the perioperative rehabilitation protocol implemented in a lung transplant center.METHODS:A retrospective analysis was conducted in ULTx patients who required preoperative invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV)and ECMO between January 2018 and January 2023.Data were retrieved from electronic medical records at our lung transplant center.RESULTS:Fourteen patients(mean age 57.43±10.97 years;12 males,2 females)underwent ULTx with bridging ECMO and IMV.The mean body mass index was 23.94±3.33 kg/m²,and the mean Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE)II score was 21.50±3.96.The Nutritional Risk Screening 2002(NRS 2002)scores were≥3.ULTx was performed after an 8.5-day waiting period(interquartile interval[IQR]5.0-26.5 d).Following the surgeries,the average lengths of ECMO and IMV were 1.0(IQR 1.0-2.0)d and 5.0(IQR 3.0-7.3)d,respectively.The total length of hospital stay was 60.1±30.8 d,with an average intensive care unit stay of 38.3±22.9 d and post-operative hospitalization stay of 45.8±26.1 d.Two patients died within 30 d after ULTx,with a 30-day survival rate of 85.71%.CONCLUSION:Patients receiving ULTx showed an acceptable short-term survival rate,validating the practicality and safety of the treatment protocols implemented in our center.

Energy-saving and environmentally friendly photocatalysis has emerged as a popular research area in response to issues with energy scarcity and environmental degradation.Due to the unique layer-like structure,BiOX（Cl,Br,I） is frequently used in photocatalysis.However,inherent flaws in BiOX,such as an inappropriate band gap and low carrier separation efficiency,restrict its capacity for photocatalysis.Owing to the tunable grouping layer,alloying engineering is employed to optimize the intrinsic properties of BiOX and alloyed BiOX becomes a promising photocatalytic material.This review describes the structure of BiOX,where tunable halogen layers provide favorable conditions for the implementation of alloying engineering to improve intrinsic properties.The article compares the effects and mechanisms of alloying engineering on the optimization of the energy band structure and carrier behavior of BiOX,and lists various modification methods used to improve the optimization of the intrinsic properties by alloying engineering,including defect engineering,morphology control as well as the synergy between alloying and other modification methods（bismuth-rich strategies,cation doping,construction of heterojunctions and plasma resonance effects）.Subsequently,applications of alloyed BiOX in energy and environmental fields are summarized,including contaminant degradation,antibacterial,CO2reduction,nitrogen fixation and organic synthesis.Finally,we summarize the current challenges and future directions of alloyed BiOX.It is expected that this work will provide guidance and assistance for an in-depth study and understanding of the mechanisms of alloying engineering to optimize intrinsic properties and design alloyed BiOX with higher photocatalytic activity.

Regeneration of the heart:f rom molecular mechanisms to clinical therapeutics

Heart injury such as myocardial infarction leads to cardiomyocyte loss,fibrotic tissue deposition,and scar formation.These changes reduce cardiac contractility,resulting in heart failure,which causes a huge public health burden.Military personnel,compared with civilians,is exposed to more stress,a risk factor for heart diseases,making cardiovascular health management and treatment innovation an important topic for military medicine.So far,medical intervention can slow down cardiovascular disease progression,but not yet induce heart regeneration.In the past decades,studies have focused on mechanisms underlying the regenerative capability of the heart and applicable approaches to reverse heart injury.Insights have emerged from studies in animal models and early clinical trials.Clinical interventions show the potential to reduce scar formation and enhance cardiomyocyte proliferation that counteracts the pathogenesis of heart disease.In this review,we discuss the signaling events controlling the regeneration of heart tissue and summarize current therapeutic approaches to promote heart regeneration after injury.
