Some breast reconstructi.n surgeri.s after mastectomy, or even reducti.e mammoplasty, may evolve unexpectedly when the areolopapi.lary complex heals and develop dehi.cences, necrosi. and delayed heali.g. The purpose of thi. case report was to veri.y the effi.acy of photodynami. therapy i. wound heali.g of the areolopapi.lary complex. Thi. was a case report of a female pati.nt wi.h di.betes, fi.romyalgi. and di.gnosed wi.h breast cancer, wi.h necroti. areolopapi.lary complex, after debri.ement, photodynami. therapy started wi.h clobetasol propi.nate associ.ted wi.h methylene blue and low power laser appli.ati.n. At the begi.ni.g of the treatment wi.h photodynami. therapy, the wound had 6 centi.eters of di.meter, and after 19 sessi.ns, the wound was closed completely wi.h normali.ati.n of the color of the ni.ple. The photodynami. therapy i. advanci.g a lot i. heali.g of i.fected wounds and complex wounds. i. can be sai. that i. thi. case report, photodynami. therapy was fundamental for the complete heali.g, bei.g consi.ered a promi.i.g treatment and another alternati.e for dermatofuncti.nal physi.therapi.ts.

The cotton plant i. a plant belongi.g to the fami.y Malvaceae and i.s leaves are often used i. folk medi.i.e. The present study ai.ed to evaluate the mutageni. or anti.utageni. acti.i.y of the ethanoli. extract of Gossypi.m barbadense L. (EEG) and to analyze i.s capaci.y to prevent or repai. mutageni. lesi.ns caused by cyclophosphami.e (CP). For the Mi.ronucleus test, Swi.s mi.e were di.i.ed i.to 5 groups: negati.e control;Posi.i.e control: treated wi.h 50 mg/kg cyclophosphami.e (CP), group recei.i.g EEG 500 mg/kg for 7 days;Group recei.i.g EEG 500 mg/kg for 7 days associ.ted wi.h CP24h before euthanasi.;Group who recei.ed CP and EEG 500 mg/kg for 7 days. After the treatment peri.d, the ani.als were euthani.ed, the bone marrow removed and the blood smear prepared. From thi. analysi., i. was observed that the EEG caused a si.ni.i.ant i.crease i. the number of mi.ronucleated erythrocytes, i.di.ati.g mutageni. acti.i.y of the extract. i. addi.i.n, i. was veri.i.d that the extract di. not present the capaci.y to prevent, but i. presented the capaci.y of repai. of the chromosomal damages caused by CP.

The consumpti.n of beverages and processed foods, mai.ly soft dri.ks, has been i.corporated i.to the usual di.t of chi.dren, adolescents and adults frequently i. recent years. The present study ai.ed to study the effects of carbonated dri.ks on Wi.tar rats, based on the macroscopi. and hi.tologi.al morphology of the esophagus. Fi.teen Wi.tar rats were di.i.ed i.to three groups: control group;group fed wi.h rati.n and cola-type refri.erant ad li.i.um and group fed wi.h rati.n and gas i.dustri.li.ed water ad li.i.um, for a tri.l peri.d of 90 days. For hi.topathology and morphology, the esophagus was removed, prepared i. sli.es and stai.ed wi.h hematoxyli.eosi.. i.ages of the secti.ns were captured for analysi. and classi.i.ati.n of the i.flammatory i.fi.trate. For morphometry, ten gri. fi.lds of 100 poi.ts were evaluated i. the 40x eyepi.ce, totali.g 3000 poi.ts per ani.al. The results demonstrate that the refri.erant treatment i.duced the followi.g structural changes i. the rats: si.ni.i.ant reducti.n of wei.ht i. relati.n to the control group;i.flammatory i.fi.trate predomi.antly di.fuse mi.d to moderate and ti.sue edema. Background: The present work ai.s to characteri.e the profi.e of pati.nts wi.h stroke treat at a hospi.al located i. the Regi.n of the Mata of Mi.as Gerai., Brazi., consi.eri.g the fi.di.gs of the cli.i.al vocal tract, ki.d of stroke, age and gender of such pati.nts. Methodology: To obtai. data, the cli.i.al profi.e of 133 pati.nts wi.h a cli.i.al or tomography di.gnosi. of stroke was analyzed, and the results were presented i. percentage. For quanti.ati.e data average and analysi. the tests were done wi.h associ.ti.ns that held χ2 test, and for si.ni.i.ance i. was consi.ered p Results: From the total of pati.nts, 63 were women, accounti.g for 47.4% and the other 52.6% were males. Cli.i.ally, they were characteri.ed wi.h the hi.hest percentage for i.chemi. stroke (89.4%) compared to the hemorrhagi. type (10.6%). Most of them were referred for computed tomography (86.5%) and remai.ed hospi.ali.ed for an average of 6.496 ± 7.372 days. Si.i.ar percentages were obtai.ed i. the analysi. of the populati.n i. questi.n, when consi.eri.g i. they had (54.1%) or not (49.6%) any damage i. thei. speech, language ski.ls or swallowi.g. There were di.ferent types of di.abi.i.i.s i. pati.nts wi.h stroke. Men wi.h an average age of 69.8 ± 13.9 presents mostly i.chemi. stroke, and the majori.y of pati.nts wi.h stroke had hemi.legi. and abnormali.i.s of the vocal tract, dysphasi., and aphasi.. Whi.e older pati.nts had an i.chemi. stroke and were presented wi.h left hemi.legi., the younger ones suffered from hemorrhagi. strokes that caused a di.abi.i.y characteri.ed as ri.ht hemi.legi.. Conclusi.n: Our results show i.portant conclusi.ns regardi.g the cli.i.al evoluti.n of the vocal tract of pati.nts who suffered strokes duri.g the peri.d of the analysi., bei.g useful for better comprehensi.n of how the vocal tract from these pati.nts evolved accordi.g to the ki.d of stroke, sex and age also allowi.g a contraposi.i.n wi.h other future stati.ti.s peri.ds avai.able i. li.erature. i. can also be poi.ted out the di.fi.ulti.s i. di.gnosi.g

Objecti.e: To determi.e the mai. mi.robi.l genotypes and thei. anti.i.robi.l resi.tance and suscepti.i.i.y profi.e commonly used i. the treatment of oncologi. pati.nts wi.h febri.e neutropeni., carri.d out through the revi.w of the cli.i.al hi.tori.s of the pati.nts’ medi.al records at the Hospi.al do Cancer de Muri.é-Fundacao Cri.ti.no Varella. Methods: Quanti.ati.e research, determi.ed the suscepti.i.i.y profi.e of mi.roorgani.ms i. pati.nts wi.h febri.e neutropeni. from Apri. 2007 to Apri. 2008 by revi.wi.g cli.i.al hi.tori.s of pati.nts’ medi.al records at the referred hospi.al. Results: Of the total of 8 pati.nts evaluated wi.h Gram-negati.e mi.roorgani.ms, 50% of the pati.nts were female and 50% were male. Of the 18 pati.nts evaluated wi.h Gram-posi.i.e mi.roorgani.ms 66% were female and 34% male. Gram-posi.i.e bacteri. are prevalent and cause around 60% of documented bacteremi.s, although Gram-negati.e bacteri. are more common i. febri.e neutropeni. pati.ntes. Conclusi.n: Exaggerated use of anti.i.robi.ls i. hospi.ali.ed pati.nts leads to the suppressi.n of drug-sensi.i.e mi.roorgani.ms from the i.testi.al flora and promotes the persi.tence and growth of resi.tant bacteri.. The anti.i.ti. should be used i. a curati.e manner wi.h other therapeuti. measures wi.h the determi.ed bacteri.l i.fecti.n.

Photodynami. therapy today i. becomi.g an i.portant role i. the heali.g of lacerated ti.sues, si.ce i. has therapeuti. resources capable of accelerati.g thi. process. One treatment opti.n i. the cli.i.al phototherapy, and Photodynami. Therapy (PDT) i. bei.g wi.ely used. Thi. study ai.s to evaluate the effect of PDT on the heali.g of ski. wounds i. rats. We used a sample of 39 male rats Wi.tar di.i.ed i.to three groups, a control, a PDT-treated green and red wi.h the last PDT. After 24 hours before the surgi.al i.ci.i.ns, PDT was used i. both groups for 6 mi.utes and was evaluated i. hi.tologi.al level, the i.flammatory reacti.n and the repai. process. The results showed that the granulati.n ti.sue was more developed i. the i.radi.ted group than i. the control group and the amount of chroni. i.flammatory cells (monocytes, macrophages, lymphocytes and plasma cells) predomi.ated wi.h green phototherapy. The epi.heli.li.ati.n i. the wound margi.s and scarri.g wi.h better quali.y occurred wi.h red PDT (640 nm), whi.h the hi.her deposi.i.n was of collagen. However, phototherapy not colli.ated of 640 nm (red) resulted i. better anti.i.flammatory effects. Gi.en these answers wi.h phototherapy not colli.ated green (525 nm) and red (640 nm), we conclude that the use of these wavelengths i. possi.le wi.h benefi.s, mai.ly wi.h red LED.

i. Brazi., the amount of pesti.i.es consumed doubled i. the last 10 years. Thus, i. 2008 i. assumed the lead posi.i.n i. the world. However, i.s i.di.cri.i.ate appli.ati.n i. agri.ulture wi.hout the use of the necessary care has contri.uted to envi.onmental degradati.n and i.creased occupati.nal exposures, maki.g i. a seri.us health problem i. the country. The recent study looked to evaluate the audi.ory health and ri.k factors i. rural workers exposed to pesti.i.es i. Pi.dade de Carati.ga County—MG, and chart thei. soci.economi. profi.e and li.estyle whi.e i.enti.yi.g the types of crops and the use and management of pesti.i.es. Developed, then, a descri.ti.e and exploratory study i.volvi.g 23 men, rural workers, exposed to pesti.i.es, wi.h no hi.tory of exposure to noi.e, wi.h changes i. meatoscopy and aged ≤50 years of age. The results show the sample consi.ted of 23 men wi.h a mean age of 36.7 ± 9.3, whom have low educati.n, wi.h a monthly i.come of 1 mi.i.um wage, worki.g i. the fi.lds for over 15 years. There was a predomi.ance of horti.ulture usi.g organophosphate pesti.i.es and pyrethroi.s. Part of the sample shows audi.ory loss, the most common sensori.eural conducti.e loss. i. i. essenti.l that the populati.n exposed to thi. type of ri.k i. i.formed and recei.es gui.ance from educati.nal campai.ns developed by the multi.i.ci.li.ary team of basi. health uni.s.
