The pattern formation in reaction-diffusion system has long been the subject of interest to the researchers in the domain of mathematical ecology because of its universal exis- tence and importance. The present investigation deals with a spatial dynamics of the Beddington-DeAngelis predator-prey model in the presence of a constant proportion of prey refuge. The model system representing boundary value problem under study is subjected to homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. The asymptotic stability including the local and the global stability and the bifurcation as well of the unique pos- itive homogeneous steady state of the corresponding temporal model has been analyzed. The Turing instability region in two-parameter space and the condition of diffusion- driven instability of the spatiotemporal model are investigated. Based on the appro- priate numerical simulations, the present model dynamics in Turing space appears to get influenced by prey refuge while it exhibits diffusion-controlled pattern formation growth to spots, stripe-spot mixtures, labyrinthine, stripe-hole mixtures and holes repli- cation. The results obtained appear to enrich the findings of the model system under consideration.

The aim of present study is to analyze the influence of volume percentage(vol.%) of nano-sized particles(TiB_2: average size is 35 nm) on microstructure, mechanical and tribological behavior of 6061-T6 Al alloy surface nano composite prepared via Friction stir process(FSP). The microstructure of the fabricated surface nanocomposites is examined using optical microscopy(OM) and scanning electron microscope(SEM) for distribution of TiB_2 nano reinforcement particles, thickness of nano composite layer formed on the Aluminum alloy substrate and fracture features. The depth of surface nano composite layer is measured as 3683.82 m m along the cross section of stir zone of nano composite perpendicular to FSP. It was observed that increase in volume percentage of TiB_2 particles, the microhardness is increased up to132 Hv and it is greater than as-received Al alloy's microhardness(104 Hv). It is also observed that at 4volume percentage higher tensile properties exhibited as compared with the 2 and 8 vol. %. It is found that high wear resistance exhibited at 4 volume percentage as-compared with the 2 and 8 vol. %. The observed wear and mechanical properties are interrelated with microstructure, fractography and worn morphology.

In this paper,RF performance analysis of In As-based double gate（DG）tunnel field effect transistors（TFETs）is investigated in both qualitative and quantitative *** investigation is carried out by varying the geometrical and doping parameters of TFETs to extract various RF parameters,unity gain cut-off frequency（f_t）,maximum oscillation frequency（f_（max））,intrinsic gain and admittance（Y）*** asymmetric gate oxide is introduced in the gate-drain overlap and compared with that of DG *** ON-current（ION）of about 0.2 mA and less leakage current（IOFF）of 29 f A is achieved for DG TFET with gate-drain *** to increase in transconductance（g_m）,higher ft and intrinsic gain is attained for DG TFET with gate-drain *** f_（max） of 985 GHz is obtained for drain doping of 5×10^（17）cm^（-3） because of the reduced gate-drain capacitance（C_（gd））with DG TFET with gate-drain *** terms of Y-parameters,gate oxide thickness variation offers better performance due to the reduced values of Cgd.A second order numerical polynomial model is generated for all the RF responses as a function of geometrical and doping *** simulation results are compared with this numerical model where the predicted values match with the simulated values.

Neurotrophins are a family of growth factors that have been found to be central for the development and functional maintenance of the nervous system, participating in neurogenesis, neuronal survival, axonal growth, synaptogenesis and activity-dependent forms of synaptic plasticity. Trauma in the adult nervous system can disrupt the functional circuitry of neurons and result in severe functional deficits. The limitation of intrinsic growth capacity of adult nervous system and the presence of an inhospitable environment are the major hurdles for axonal regeneration of lesioned adult neurons. Neurotrophic factors have been shown to be excellent candidates in mediating neuronal repair and establishing functional circuitry via activating several growth signaling mechanisms including neuron-intrinsic regenerative programs. Here, we will review the effects of various neurotrophins in mediating recovery after injury to the adult spinal cord.

Solar coronal rain is classified generally into two categories:flare-driven and quiescent coronal *** latter is observed to form along both closed and open magnetic field ***,we proposed that some of the quiescent coronal rain events,detected in the transition region and chromospheric diagnostics,along loop-like paths could be explained by the formation mechanism for quiescent coronal rain facilitated by interchange magnetic reconnection between open and closed field *** this study,we revisited 38 coronal rain reports from the *** these earlier works,we picked 15 quiescent coronal rain events out of the solar limb,mostly suggested to occur in active region closed loops due to thermal nonequilibrium,to scrutinize their formation *** the extreme ultraviolet images and line-of-sight magnetograms,the evolution of the quiescent coronal rain events and their magnetic fields and context coronal structures is *** find that six,comprising 40%,of the 15 quiescent coronal rain events could be totally or partially interpreted by the formation mechanism for quiescent coronal rain along open structures facilitated by interchange *** results suggest that the quiescent coronal rain facilitated by interchange reconnection between open and closed field lines deserves more attention.

Remote Sensing Data and SLEUTH Urban Growth Model:As Decision Support Tools for Urban Planning

Sri Lanka is experiencing speedy urbanization by converting the agriculture land and other natural land cover into built-up land. The urban population of Sri Lanka is expected to reach to 60% by 2030 from 14% in 2010. The rapid growth in urban population and urban areas in Sri Lanka may cause serious socioeconomic disparities, if they are not handled properly. Thus, planners in Sri Lanka are in need of information about past and future urban growth patterns to plan a better and sustainable urban future for Sri Lanka. In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of past land use and land cover trends in Matara City of Sri Lanka from 1980 to 2010 to assess the historic urban dynamics. The land use change detection analysis based on remote sensing datasets reveal that the conversion of homestead/garden and paddy into urban land is evident in Matara City. The historic urban trends are projected into the near future by using SLEUTH urban growth model to identify the hot spots of future urbanization and as well as the urban growth patterns in Matara City up to the basic administrative level, i.e., Grama Niladari Divisions(GND). The urban growth simulations for the year 2030 reveal that 29 GNDs out of 66 GNDs in Matara City will be totally converted into urban land. Whereas, 28 GNDs will have urban land cover from 75% to 99% by 2030. The urban growth simulations are further analyzed with respect to the proposed Matara city development plan by the Urban Development Authority(UDA) of Sri Lanka. The results show that the UDA's city development plan of Matara will soon be outpaced by rapid urbanization. Based on the calibration and validation results, the SLEUTH model proved to be a useful planning tool to understand the near future urbanization of Sri Lankan cities.
