BACKGROUND Childhood cancer survivors are potentially at a higher risk of infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV).The effects of all-oral direct-acting antiviral therapy (DAA) on both the HCV infection as well as the state of cancer remission have not been well investigated in this *** To test the effects of dual sofosbuvir/daclatasvir (SOF/DCV) therapy in the treatment of chronic HCV in survivors of hematologic malignancy in pediatric age *** We conducted a prospective,uncontrolled,open-label multicenter study.A total of 20 eligible,chronic HCV,genotype-4,infected children who had been in continuous complete remission from hematologic cancer (leukemia/lymphoma) for at least one year were included in the *** patients were treated with combined SOF/DCV for 12 *** were monitored throughout the study till 12 wk after end of treatment for safety and efficacy outcomes including the sustained virologic response 12 (SVR12) rate,hematological indices,liver and kidney *** The intent-to-treat SVR12 rate was 20 of 20 (100%;95%CI: 84%-100%).All patients showed normalized liver enzymes from *** hematological indices,liver and kidney functions were kept normal throughout the *** fatalities or treatment-emergent serious or severe adverse events were reported throughout the *** SOF/DCV combined therapy could be used safely and effectively in the treatment of chronic HCV genotype-4 infection in leukemia/lymphoma treated *** relapses were detected during treatment and throughout the follow up period for either the original malignant disease or the HCV infection.

Dental pulp stem cells stimulate neuronal differentiation of PC12 cells

Dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs) secrete neurotrophic factors which may play an important therapeutic role in neural development, maintenance and repair. To test this hypothesis, DPSCs-conditioned medium(DPSCs-Cm) was collected from 72 hours serum-free DPSCs cultures. The impact of DPSCs-derived factors on PC12 survival, growth, migration and differentiation was investigated. PC12 cells were treated with nerve growth factor(NGF), DPSCs-Cm or co-cultured with DPSCs using Transwell inserts for 8 days. The number of surviving cells with neurite outgrowths and the length of neurites were measured by image analysis. Immunocytochemical staining was used to evaluate the expression of neuronal markers NeuN, microtubule associated protein 2(mAP-2) and cytoskeletal marker βIII-tubulin. Gene expression levels of axonal growth-associated protein 43 and synaptic protein Synapsin-I, NeuN, mAP-2 and βIII-tubulin were analysed by quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR). DPSCs-Cm was analysed for the neurotrophic factors(NGF, brain-derived neurotrophic factor [BDNF], neurotrophin-3, and glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor [GDNF]) by specific ELISAs. Specific neutralizing antibodies against the detected neurotrophic factors were used to study their exact role on PC12 neuronal survival and neurite outgrowth extension. DPSCs-Cm significantly promoted cell survival and induced the neurite outgrowth confirmed by NeuN, mAP-2 and βIII-tubulin immunostaining. Furthermore, DPSCsCm was significantly more effective in stimulating PC12 neurite outgrowths than live DPSCs/PC12 co-cultures over the time studied. The morphology of induced PC12 cells in DPSCs-Cm was similar to NGF positive controls;however, DPSCs-Cm stimulation of cell survival was significantly higher than what was seen in NGF-treated cultures. Persian medicine non-pharmacological therapies for headache：phlebotomy and wet cupping

OBJECTIVE: To describe the common causes of headache as well as the different methods of Phlebotomy(Fasd) and wet Cupping(Hijamat) based on Persian ***: In this study, we searched Google Scholar, Science Direct, Pub med and Scopus to get any in vitro or clinical evidence of the efficacy and possible mechanisms of phlebotomy or wet cupping on different types of headaches. Also different types of headaches, according to Pm, under the title of "Sodaa"; extracted from famous Persian medical text books with key words including "Sodaa","Bayze" and "Shaqiqe".RESULTS: According to Pm, diseases(dystemperament) are created by abnormal alteration in temperament. Temperament is a monolithic quality yielded by interaction between opposing qualities of four elements that are coldness, hotness, dryness and wetness. Headaches are caused by dystemperament(sue-mizaj) in brain or in total body that are divided into simple and corporal. Common forms of the latter type are Vaporal and migrant headache(Bokhari and Rihi). Each of these headaches is treated either through phlebotomy or wet ***: In Persian medicine, Fasd and Hijamat are easy and economical methods for treatment of headache with reasonable results. By describing the precise areas and indications of phlebotomy and wet cupping, this study provides the first step for future clinical trials in this field.

Biobased smart packaging is been the most interesting research *** this study,pH-sensitive films based on anthocyanin molecules from red cabbage and sepiolite mineral nano-clay as functional additives were *** films were fabricated by casting method of blend polymer Chitosan/Poly(Vinyl Alcohol)at two fillers loading(5wt.%and 10wt.%).The structural,morphological,thermal,optical,hygroscopic,and mechanical properties as well as the pH sensitivity of films were *** thermal properties confirm that the amount of the anthocyanin in sepiolite was around 6.4%.The tensile strength and the young’s modulus of produced composites at 10wt.%sepiolite–anthocyanin content was increased to 8.90 mPa and 163 mPa,*** maximum water absorption that the films may absorb was 12.3%.pH sensitivity analysis showed that the Smart films change the color by changing the pH level,from pink at pH lower than 6 to yellow at pH higher than ***,the developed pH-sensitive films show band gaps in visible light that make them useful for monitoring milk spoilage.

method Verification and Validation of Hydralazine Hydrochloride: Spectrophotometric Analysis in Pure and Pharmaceutical Formulations

The new method proposed is based on the formation of hydralazine-Bromophenol blue ion pair simply and without further extraction or heating. The ion pair was prepared in the presence of pH 3 citrate buffer forming a yellow-colored chromogen. A new maximum UV-visible band formed at 416 nm. The color was stable for more than 10 hours and obeyed Beer’s Law over the concentration range of 10 - 50 µg/mL. The calculated molar absorptivity and Sandell’s sensitivity were 1.01 × 104 L∙mol−1∙cm−1 and 0.0514 µg/mL, respectively. The elements of method validation stipulated by The International Conference on Harmonization [Q2 (R1)] were applied for hydralazine hydrochloride assay in pure and pharmaceutical tablet formulation. The average recoveries of the pure solution and the pharmaceutical formulation were 98.94% and 99.50%, respectively. The results were statistically compared by F-test, which indicates that the method can be precise and repeatable for both pure and pharmaceutical solutions. The method was found to be accurate, reproducible, and cost-effective, and validated for the assay of hydralazine in terms of the routine quality control.

Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate and saxagliptin ameliorate ulcerative colitis in rats

Objective: To evaluate the antioxidant, immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activities of pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate and saxagliptin in rats with thioacetamide-induced ulcerative colitis. methods: Animals were orally administered with a vehicle, sulfasalazine(500 mg/kg), pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate(100 mg/kg), and saxagliptin(10 mg/kg) for two weeks. Ulcerative colitis was induced by a single intrarectal instillation of thioacetamide on day 8. Colon samples were collected to assess mitogen-activated protein kinase(mAPK), phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK), c AmP response element-binding protein(CREB), interleukin-12(IL-12), caspase-3, β-defensin, inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS) and glucagon like peptide-1(GLP-1). moreover, histopathological examination was performed. Results: Rats treated with thioacetamide caused increases in colonic mAPK, phosphorylated ERK, CREB, caspase-3, IL-12, β-defensin, i NOS, as well as decreases in body weight and GLP-1. In addition, distortion of colonic structure was found by histopathological examination. Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate and saxagliptin mitigated colitis severity by improving body weight decrease and GLP-1, and reducing colonic mAPK, phosphorylated ERK, CREB, caspase-3, IL-12, β-defensin and i NOS. Conclusions: Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate and saxagliptin are efficient against thioacetamide induced colitis through improving inflammatory and oxidative changes.

An a-C/a-C:N junction,which used palmyra sugar as the carbon source and ammonium hydroxide(NH4OH)as the dopant source,was successfully deposited on the ITO glass substrate using the nano-spraying *** current-voltage relationship of the junction was found to be a Schottky-like contact,and therefore the junction shows the characteristic *** means the a-C and a-C:N are semiconductors with different types of ***,the samples showed an increase in current and voltage value when exposed to visible light(bright state)compared to the dark condition,thereby,indicating the creation of electron-hole pairs during the *** was also discovered that the relationship between current and voltage for the a-C/a-C:N junction sample formed a curve that satisfies the rule of the photovoltaic effect when exposed to visible light from a light *** exposure of this sample to direct sunlight at Am 1.5 conditions produced a curve that meets the rules for the emergence of the photovoltaic effect with higher characteristics for the current-voltage ***,the a-C/a-C:N junction sample is a solar cell successfully fabricated using a sample method and has a maximum efficiency of 0.0013%.
