Photopic negative response in diagnosis of glaucoma:an experimental study in glaucomatous rabbit model

AIm: To determine whether the photopic negative response(Ph NR) elicited by transient white flash on white background is characterizing for glaucoma model in ***: Glaucoma was induced in twelve rabbits by subconjunctival injection of 0.05 m L of betamethasone in right eyes(each 1 m L contain betamethasone dipropionate5 mg and betamethasone sodium phosphate 2 mg).The intraocular pressure(IOP), electroretinogram(ERG) and visual evoked potential(VEP) were measured successively prior and on the 3, 7d, two weeks and four weeks postglaucoma induction. After four weeks, the animals were sacrificed and the globes were histopathologically ***: The IOP increased significantly after one week(P =0.0001), then it gradually returned to the control level. In ERG examination, the means of a and b wave amplitude and latency were not affected *** NR amplitude decreased significantly within one week(P =0.0001), but its latency was not affected significantly(P =0.132). The means of VEP latency and amplitude were significantly affected after two weeks and four weeks of glaucoma induction(P =0.0001 and 0.02,respectively). The histopathologic examination of the globes showed reduced number of cells in the retinal ganglion cell layer with multiple vacuoles in the retinal nerve fibre *** was significant positive correlation between ganglion cell layer cells and Ph NR amplitude( r =0.8, P =0.002).CONCLUSION: The rise in IOP resulted in irreversible changes or incomplete recovery of VEP and Ph NR amplitude. Both Ph NR and VEP represented good additional tools in early diagnosis of glaucoma.

Safety of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide:an electrophysiologic and histopathological study in rabbits

AIm:To evaluate the retinal safety of various doses of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide(TA)in ***:Thirty New Zealand albino rabbits were divided into five groups(six animals each).In group 1(control group),each animal received a single intravitreal injection of 0.1 mL phosphate buffered *** groups2,3,4 and 5,each rabbit received a single intravitreal injection of 4,8,16 and 32mg of TA,*** dose was contained in 0.1 mL phosphate buffered *** ocular examinations were performed before the injection and on the 1st,3rd,10th and 17th postinjection days.A standard dark adapted electroretinogram(ERG)was obtained before injection and on the 3rd,10th and 17th post-injection ***17d,animals were sacrificed and their eyes prepared for pathological ***:By monitoring ERG as a functional index for the retina,intravitreal injection of 4mg TA showed no significant ERG *** doses of 8,16 and 32,hyper-abnormal responses in a-and b-waves of ERG were detected on the 3rd post-injection *** changes gradually returned back to normal limits *** examination of the retina of all animals showed no pathological ***:High doses of intravitreal TA seemed to have enhancing effects on the retinal function with gradual return to normal limits with no pathological changes detected in examined eyes.

A Novel Energy and Communication Aware Scheduling on Green Cloud Computing

The rapid growth of service-oriented and cloud computing has created large-scale data centres *** data centres’operating costs mostly come from back-end cloud infrastructure and energy *** cloud computing,extensive communication resources are ***,cloud applications require more bandwidth to transfer large amounts of data to satisfy end-user *** is also essential that no communication source can cause congestion or bag loss owing to unnecessary switching *** paper proposes a novel Energy and Communication(EC)aware scheduling(EC-scheduler)algorithm for green cloud computing,which optimizes data centre energy consumption and traffic *** primary goal of the proposed EC-scheduler is to assign user applications to cloud data centre resources with minimal utilization of data *** first introduce a multi-Objective Leader Salp Swarm(mLSS)algorithm for task sorting,which ensures traffic load balancing,and then an Emotional Artificial Neural Network(EANN)for efficient resource ***-scheduler schedules cloud user requirements to the cloud server by optimizing both energy and communication delay,which supports the lower emission of carbon dioxide by the cloud server system,enabling a green,unalloyed *** tested the proposed plan and existing cloud scheduling methods using the GreenCloud simulator to analyze the efficiency of optimizing data centre energy and other scheduler *** EC-scheduler parameters Power Usage Effectiveness(PUE),Data Centre Energy Productivity(DCEP),Throughput,Average Execution Time(AET),Energy Consumption,and makespan showed up to 26.738%,37.59%,50%,4.34%,34.2%,and 33.54%higher efficiency,respectively,than existing state of the art schedulers concerning number of user applications and number of user requests.

maintaining software once implemented on the end-user side is laborious and,over its lifetime,is most often considerably more expensive than the initial software *** prediction of software maintainability lias emerged as an important research topic to address industry expectations for reducing costs,in particular,maintenance *** and practitioners have been working on proposing and identifying a variety of techniques ranging from statistical to machine learning(mL)for better prediction of software *** review has been carried out to analyze the empirical evidence on the accuracy of software product maintainability prediction(SPmP)using mL *** paper analyzes and discusses the findings of 77 selected studies published from 2000 to 2018 according to the following criteria:maintainability prediction techniques,validation methods,accuracy criteria,overall accuracy of mL techniques,and the techniques offering the best *** review process followed the well-known syslematic review *** results show that mL techniques are frequently used in predicting *** particular,artificial neural network(ANN),support vector machine/regression(SVm/R).regression&decision trees(DT),and fuzzy neuro fuzzy(FNF)techniques are more accurate in terms of PRED and *** N-fold and leave-one-out cross-validation methods,and the mmRE and PRED accuracy criteria are frequently used in empirical *** general,mL techniques outperformed non-machine learning techniques,e.g.,regression analysis(RA)techniques,while FNF outperformed SVm/*** ANN in most ***,while many techniques were reported superior,no specific one can be identified as the best.

Probe Attack Detection Using an Improved Intrusion Detection System

The novel SoftwareDefined Networking(SDN)architecture potentially resolves specific challenges arising from rapid internet growth of and the static nature of conventional networks to manage organizational business requirements with distinctive ***,such benefits lead to a more adverse environment entailing network breakdown,systems paralysis,and online banking fraudulence and *** one of the most common and dangerous threats in SDN,probe attack occurs when the attacker scans SDN devices to collect the necessary knowledge on system susceptibilities,which is thenmanipulated to undermine the entire ***,high performance,and real-time systems prove pivotal in successful goal attainment through feature selection to minimize computation time,optimize prediction performance,and provide a holistic understanding of machine learning *** the extension of astute machine learning algorithms into an Intrusion Detection System(IDS)through SDN has garnered much scholarly attention within the past decade,this study recommended an effective IDS under the Grey-wolf optimizer(GWO)and Light Gradient Boosting machine(Light-GBm)classifier for probe attack *** InSDN dataset was employed to train and test the proposed IDS,which is deemed to be a novel benchmarking dataset in *** proposed IDS assessment demonstrated an optimized performance against that of peer IDSs in probe attack detection within *** results revealed that the proposed IDS outperforms the state-of-the-art IDSs,as it achieved 99.8%accuracy,99.7%recall,99.99%precision,and 99.8%F-measure.

Threshold-Based Software-Defined Networking(SDN)Solution for Healthcare Systems against Intrusion Attacks

The healthcare sector holds valuable and sensitive *** amount of this data and the need to handle,exchange,and protect it,has been increasing at a fast *** to their nature,software-defined networks(SDNs)are widely used in healthcare systems,as they ensure effective resource utilization,safety,great network management,and *** this sector,due to the value of thedata,SDNs faceamajor challengeposed byawide range of attacks,such as distributed denial of service(DDoS)and probe *** attacks reduce network performance,causing the degradation of different key performance indicators(KPIs)or,in the worst cases,a network failure which can threaten human *** can be significant,especially with the current expansion of portable healthcare that supports mobile and wireless devices for what is called mobile health,or *** this study,we examine the effectiveness of using SDNs for defense against DDoS,as well as their effects on different network KPIs under various *** propose a threshold-based DDoS classifier(TBDC)technique to classify DDoS attacks in healthcare SDNs,aiming to block traffic considered a hazard in the form of a DDoS *** then evaluate the accuracy and performance of the proposed TBDC *** technique shows outstanding performance,increasing the mean throughput by 190.3%,reducing the mean delay by 95%,and reducing packet loss by 99.7%relative to normal,with DDoS attack traffic.

LCO flutter of cantilevered woven glass/epoxy laminate in subsonic flow

The paper presents a cantilevered composite wing, aeroelastic characteristics of idealized as a composite flat plate laminate. The composite laminate was made from woven glass fibers with epoxy matrix. The elastic and dynamic properties of the laminate were determined experimentally for aeroelastic calculations. Aeroelastic wind tunnel testing of the laminate was performed and the result showed that flutter, a dynamic instability occurred. The cantilevered laminate also displayed limit cycle amplitude, post-flutter oscillation. The experimental flutter velocity and frequency were verified by our computational analysis.
