It has been known that many C. elegans genes can function similarly to mammalian genes. And its genome is surprisingly similar to that of humans （40%homologous）. So C. elegans becomes an attractive organism in the study of human diseases. Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders, which is characterized by paroxysmal electrical disturbances of the brain that are manifested as seizures. Most epilepsy researchers have chosen to limit their studies to mammalian organisms, such as mouse and rat, which exemplify nervous system complexities quite similar to those of humans. But this complexity substantially hinders screening for epilepsy genes, as it necessitates costly and inefficient procedures. Pentylenetetrazole （PTZ） is a chemical antagonist of the inhibitory neurotransmitter, GABA. It is a common seizure inducer in animal models of epilepsy, such as mice and rats. It has been reported that PTZ can also induce epilepsy-like convulsion in some mutant worms. So our research group used *** as a model to establish a system for screening the genes involved in PTZ-induced epilepsy. miR-246and miR-357-358were the first two miRNAs involved in PTZ-induced epilepsy that we screened by this screening model. In order to know which genes are the target genes for these two epilepsy-related miR-246and *** this study, we first got the predicted target genes of miR-246and miR-357-358by Microcosm target software. Then, we selected8genes for every miRNA, according to their main expression in worm neurous system and important fuction in neurous activities. Last, we check the mRNA expression level of these selected target genes in miR-246and miR-357-358mutant by RT-PCR. Our results showed that the mRNA level of gpa-13was higher in miR-246mutant worms than that in wide type N2. In addition, the mRNA levels of kqt-3, kvs-1, klc-2and jnk-1was increased in mir-357-358mutant worm, compared to wild type worms. These suggested that gpa-13may be one of the

The P40 Cutting Tool Wear Modelization Machining Fk20MnCr5

This work presents an experimental study to describe a wear zone in the P40 cutting tools used during a dry lathing. Mechanics of cutting has been presented to investigate the effects of edge geometry of the cutting tool carbide cutting insert. In the field of the metals cutting, the wear of the cutting tools leads to a degradation of the cutting zone and work. It is thus important to study the evolution of the cutting criteria allowing to follow the tool degradation during a manufacturing operations and thus to decide whether to replace the tool or not. Three parameters: cutting speed, cutting feed and cutting depth are considered to modelize the tool wear. An experimental device, particularly, a work-piece in Fk20MnCr5 material was cutted on a conventional lath for shaping, a high resolution sensor (HRS), had been used for measuring wear zone. The rela- tionship between “the cutting speed, the depth of cut, the feed rate” are analysed and modelled. In order to deduce this shape the spline method to modelize the wear zone has been used and a mathematical model has been proposed.

The M’zab region is subject to an arid Saharan climate where surface and sub-surface waters are of little importance. The Albian Aquifer, commonly called Continental Intercalary (CI), main component of North Western Sahara Aquifer System (NWSAS/SASS), constitutes the most extensive aquifer formation of the region. In our study area, the CI is identified, as a regional subset, as the Albian Aquifer of M’zab Region (AAMR). Its groundwater resources are considered the only source available to meet the growing needs of drinking water supply, agriculture and industry. This aquifer is heavily exploited by a very large number of wells (more than 750). Its supply is very low, so it is a very low renewable layer. This requires periodic monitoring and control of its piezometric level and its physico- chemical quality. Spectrophotometric Determination of Water-Soluble Hexavalent Chromium and Determination of Total Hexavalent Chromium Content of Portland Cement in the Presence of Iron (III) and Titanium (IV) Using Derivative Ratio Spectrophotometry

A rapid, reliable and accurate method for the determination of hexavalent chromium in Portland cement is developed. The proposed method includes direct spectrophotometric determination of Cr (VI) in Portland cement with 1, 2, 5, 8 Tetrahydroxyanthraquinone, (Quinalizarin, QINZ) at pH 1.5. The European Directive (2003/53/EC) limits the use of cements so that it contains no more than 2 ***-1 of water-soluble Cr (VI). The absorbance at 565 nm due to Cr (VI)-QINZ complex is recommended for the determination of water-soluble Cr (VI) in Portland cement. The quantification of Cr (VI) released from cement when mixed with water is performed according to TRGS 613 (Technical Rules of Hazardous Substances). The validity of the method is thoroughly examined and the proposed method gives satisfactory results. A derivative spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of total Cr (VI) in Portland cement in the presence of Fe (III) and Ti (IV). The hexavalent chromium complex formed at pH 1.5 allows precise and accurate determination of chromium (VI) over the concentration range 0.05 to 3.0 mg.L-1of chromium (VI). The validity of the method was examined by analyzing several Standard Reference Material (SRM) Portland cement samples. The MDL (at 95% confidence level) was found to be 25 ng/mL for chromium (VI) in National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cement samples using the proposed method.

Electrosynthesis, Characterization and Electrocatalytic Behaviour of Organic-Metal Thin-Films Based on 2,2’-Bithiophene-5-carboxylic Acid and Metal Ions

2,2’-Bithiophene-5-carboxylic acid (BTA) thin-films on platinum (Pt) electrodes were electrochemically prepared in acetonitrile solution containing 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) and 0.05 M BTA. These films were complexes with several metal ions such as Cu2+, Ag+ and Co2+. Their structural characteristics were compared with those of powder complexes chemically prepared from BTA and the corresponding metal ion. IR and XPS techniques reveal that the film complexes with metal ions have the same structures as the corresponding powder complexes. The electrocatalytic activity of BTA film-metal ions has been investigated toward ascorbic acid (AA) oxidation and compared to that obtained on a free BTA film. BTA film-metal ions exhibit good catalytic proprieties and better detection of AA than a free BTA film. This new propriety allows these films to be used as electrochemical sensors. Improvement Properties of the Cutting Tools Using Technical Plasma Treatment

In spite of the considerable progress made in the domain of the sciences of materials, cutting tools subjected to an intense abrasive wear and a very high temperature of edge. They record during their use an reduced working life. The operations of machining on lathe are regularly stopped for replacing these tools, which influences enormously the production process. Indeed, the search the new materials of substitution, remain a domain very coveted, owing to the fact, it belongs to one stake very significant industrial, in particular, in the mechanical domain and its varied sectors. The recourse to the thermal treatments traditional, limiting in an interval, reduces the wear and the excessive consumption of these cutting tools, but the principal concern of the experts and researchers, in the domain of the mechanical engineering, remain posed. The goal of this study is the introduction of the technique of plasmas, as physical phenomenon, for making material of coating at base of titanium nitrides doped at iron, at the different concentrations. To this objective, one magnetron sputtering with plasma was used for the realization of the coatings deposed on the active parts of the cutting tools. During the experimentation, it was noted that the cutting tools which are treated by plasma, subjected to the machining operations on lathe and the hardness tests, presents one improvement of their hardness and a remarkable increase in their lifespan.

Extended Anode Effect for Tube Inner Coating of Non-Conductive Ceramics by Pulsed Coaxial Magnetron Plasma

For uniform tube inner coating of non-conductive thin films, the double-ended coaxial magnetron pulsed plasma (DCMPP) method was investigated. In this study, coating of TiN and TiO2 was performed. It was clearly shown that the extended anode effect was strongly influenced by the electric resistance of the coated thin films on the inner surface of an insulator tube. Additionally, high frequency (100 kHz) was better for relatively high plasma density. On the other hand, in the case of titanium oxide deposition, negative ion productions drastically decrease the deposition rate and the shifting velocity of plasma main position for coated TiO2 films.

This paper investigates the thermal energy effect on electron auto-localization. The polaron characteristics (self-action potential and effective mass) are observed to be expressed via the renormalized electron-phonon coupling constant tailored by the thermal energy. Low temperatures are observed to favour auto-localization of the carrier while high temperatures favour polaron undressing and subsequent quenching of the quantum behaviour thereby rendering the system classical. The critical (transition) temperature τc expressed via the critical coupling constant ϒC is found to be the separating boundary between the quantum and the classical phases. Therefore, the polaron undergoes phase transition (from self-tapped to quasi free states) when the temperature of the medium is enhanced.

A pressure dependent Schrodinger equation is used to find the conditions that lead to superconductivity. When no pressure is exerted, the superconductor resistance vanishes beyond a critical temperature related to the repulsive force potential of the electron gass, where one assuming the electron total energy to be thermal, where applying mechanical pressure destroys Sc when it exceeds a certain critical value. However when the electron total energy is an assumed to be that of the free electron model and that the pressure is thermal and mechanical, the situation is different. The quantum expression for resistance shows that the increase of mechanical pressure increases the critical temperature. Such phenomenon is observed in high temperature cupper group.
