Study of a Model Humic Acid-type Polymer by Fluorescence Spectroscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy

A model HA-type polymer of para-benzoquinone synthetic humic acid (SHA) and its complexes with copper, iron and manganese metal ions were studied using atomic force microscopy (AFM). Natural humic acids (HA) and synthetic humic acids (SHA) were examined by fluorescence spectroscopy, which indicated similarity of SHA and HA spectra. The AFM images of SHA and its complexes revealed variable morphologies, such as small spheres, aggregates and a sponge-like structure. The SHA complexes displayed morphologies similar to those of natural HA. The presence of copper, iron and manganese ions led to the formation of aggregate-type structures in an apparent arrangement of smaller SHA particles.

Direct and Simultaneous Determination of Several Impurity Elements in Manganese Tetroxide using ICP-AES

A rapid method for the determination of impurity elements, such as Zn, Ni, Co, Cr, Cu, Cd and Pb in manganese tetroxide was developed, using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry （ICP-AES）. The critical instrumental parameters such as sample flow rate and radio frequency incident were thoroughly optimized. The effect of matrix was also examined. The sensitivity was investigated using calibration curves obtained in presence of the matrix. The obtained recoveries for Ni, Co, Cr, Cu, and Cd at the μg· g^ -1 level were satisfactory and practically independent of the matrix used for the calibration standards. The recoveries of Pb and Zn were less suffwient. The method can be applied for routine analysis and quality control purposes at μg· g^-1 level of concentration.

This paper reviews some recent results concerning chemical synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles and preparation of various types of magnetic nanofluids. Structural properties and behaviour in external magnetic field of magnetic nanofluids will be emphasized with relation to their use in leakage-free rotating seals and in biomedical applications.

This work presents,design and specific absorption rate(SAR)analysis of a 37GHz antenna,for 5th Generation(5G)*** proposed antenna comprises of 4-elements of rectangular patch and an even *** radiating element is composed of copper material supported by Rogers RT5880 substrate of thickness,0.254 mm,dielectric constant(εr),2.2,and loss tangent,*** 4-elements array antenna is compact in size with a dimension of 8mm×20mm in length and *** radiating patch is excited with a 50 ohms connector i.e.,*** antenna resonates in the frequency band of 37 GHz,that covers the 5G *** antenna behavior is studied both in free space and in the proximity of the human *** models of the human body,i.e.,belly,hand,and head(contain skin,fat,muscles,and bone)are considered for on-body *** resonant frequency,the antenna gives a boresight gain of 11.6 *** antenna radiates efficiently with a radiated efficiency of more than 90%.Also,it is observed that the antenna detunes to the lowest in the proximity of the human body,but still a good impedance matching is achieved considering the−10 dB ***,SAR is also being *** safe limit of 2 W/kg for any 10 g of biological tissue,specified by the European International Electro Technical Commission(IEC)has been *** calculated values of SAR for human body models,i.e.,belly,hand and head are 1.82,1.81 and 1.09 W/kg,*** SAR values are less than the international recommendations for the three ***,the simulated and measured results of the antenna are in close agreement,which makes it,a potential candidate for the fifth-generation smart phones and other handheld devices.

本报告追踪加马刀用于脑干胶质瘤及转移癌治疗之影像学及临床治疗结果。二十位脑干胶质瘤的病患接受治疗, 平均肿瘤大小为2．5cm3,治疗的周边剂量介于4至18Gy,平均12．8Gy。五十三位脑干转移癌的病人接受加马刀治疗。肺癌是最常见的原发性肿瘤,其次分别为乳癌、黑色素细胞癌及肾细胞癌。在接受治疗的二十位脑干胶质瘤中,影像学上, 四位肿瘤完全消失、十二位肿瘤明显缩小、四位肿瘤持续变大。临床上,四位肿瘤增大的病患,一位因水脑而须接受脑室腹腔引流,二位神经症状恶化,一位死亡。接受治疗的五十三位转移癌病患,十六位因存活过短,无影像学追踪。三十七位有核磁共振追踪,其中,七位病患肿瘤消失,二十二位肿瘤缩小,三位肿瘤大小不变,五位肿瘤增大。平均存活率为11 个月,统计上,脑部之外的肿瘤活性是决定存活长短的唯一因素。十位病患仍然存活,三十四位病患死于脑部之外的癌细胞恶化,三位病患死于脑干转移癌恶化,六位病患死于脑干之外脑部转移癌的恶化。我们的结果显示加马刀可以作为对脑干肿瘤手术治疗之外的另一项治疗方式。
