male accessory gland inflammation or infection （mAGI） is a potentially underdiagnosed complication of type 2 diabetes （Dm2）; specifically, we reported in a recent study that the frequency of mAGI was 43% among Dm2 patients. In previous studies, we have demonstrated that diabetic autonomic neuropathy （DAN） is associated with a peculiar ultrasound characterization of the seminal vesicles （SVs） in Dm2 patients. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the frequency of mAGI in two different categories of Dm2 patients （i.e. patients with and without symptoms that possibly reflect DAN） and the respective ultrasound characterizations. Sixty Dm2 patients with a mean （± s.e.m.） age of 42.0 ± 6.0 years （range： 34-47 years） were classified according to the presence or the absence of symptoms that could possibly reflect DAN （group A： Dm2 with symptoms possibly reflecting DAN, n = 28 patients and group b： Dm2 without symptoms possibly reflecting DAN, n = 32 patients）. The patients in Group A exhibited a significantly higher frequency of mAGI compared with those in group b patients （P 〈 0.05）; moreover, the Group A patients exhibited a significantly higher frequency of ultrasound signs suggestive of vesiculitis （P 〈 0.05）. Finally, the concentrations of lymphocytes but not the concentrations of the leukocytes in the semen were significantly higher （P 〈 0.05） in group A compared with group b.

AIm: To evaluate the role of microRNA (miR)-146a, -155 and -122 in the duodenal mucosa of pediatric patients with Crohn’s disease (CD) and the effect of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) on these miRs in duodenal epithelial and fibroblast ***: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded biopsies derived from the macroscopically inflamed (CD inflamed: n = 10) and intact (CD intact: n = 10) duodenal mucosa of pediatric CD patients and control children (C: n = 10) were examined. Expression of miR-146a, -155 and -122 was determined by real-time polymerase-chain reaction (PCR). The expression of the above miRs was investigated in recombinant human TGF-β (1 nmol/L, 24 h) or vehicle treated small intestinal epithelial cells (CCL-241) and primary duodenal fibroblast cells derived from healthy children as ***: Expression of miR-146a was significantly higher in the inflamed duodenal mucosa compared to the intact duodenal mucosa of children with CD (CD inflamed: 3.21 ± 0.50 vs CD intact: 0.62 ± 0.26, P ≤ 0.01) and to the control group (CD inflamed: 3.21 ± 0.50 vs C: 1.00 ± 0.33, P ≤ 0.05). The expression of miR-155 was significantly increased in the inflamed region of the duodenum compared to the control group (CD inflamed: 4.87 ± 1.02 vs Control: 1.00 ± 0.40, P ≤ 0.001). The expression of miR-122 was unchanged in the inflamed or intact mucosa of CD patients compared to controls. TGF-β treatment significantly decreased the expression of miR-155 in small intestinal epithelial cells (TGF-β: 0.7 ± 0.083 vs Control: 1 ± 0.09, P ≤ 0.05) and also the expression of miR-146a (TGF-β: 0.67 ± 0.04 vs Control: 1 ± 0.15, P ≤ 0.01) and miR-155 (TGF-β: 0.72 ± 0.09 vs Control: 1 ± 0.06, P ≤ 0.05) in primary duodenal fibroblasts compared to corresponding vehicle treated control

目的探讨多囊卵巢综合征(polycystic ovary syndrome,PCOS)患者外周血程序性细胞死亡蛋白1(programmed cell death protein 1,PD-1)和其配体PD-L1表达水平与细胞因子相关性。方法利用GEO数据库中GSE54248数据集筛选出PCOS中差异表达PD-1/PD-L1通路相关基因,对其进行GO和KEGG通路富集分析。采用病例对照研究,选取2022年1月至2023年6月期间在新疆医科大学第一附属医院生殖医学中心就诊的105例PCOS患者(记为PCOS组)和109例非PCOS患者(记为对照组)作为研究对象,利用QbPlex流式高通量多因子检测技术检测两组外周血PD-L1、PD-L2、PD-1和细胞因子表达水平。采用Pearson法进行相关性分析。结果PCOS组患者外周血中PD-1水平[2.890(0.020,4.540)ng/L]显著低于对照组[3.370(2.460,4.360)ng/L,P=0.008];PD-L1水平[9.820(8.860,10.880)ng/L]显著低于对照组[10.410(9.700,11.160)ng/L,P=0.001];PD-L2表达水平在两组间差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。在GSE54248数据集筛选出26个差异表达基因,主要富集在PD-1/PD-L1通路、1型T辅助细胞(T helper cell 1,Th1)和2型T辅助细胞(T helper cell 2,Th2)分化、参与炎症反应的细胞因子的产生等通路。与对照组相比较,PCOS组患者外周血中白细胞介素(interleukin,IL)-5、IL-9、IL-25、IL-10、生长刺激表达基因2(growth stimulation expressed gene 2,ST-2)和颗粒酶b(Granzyme b)浓度显著降低,IL-8、IL-1ra和肿瘤坏死因子-α(tumor necrosis factor-α,TNF-α)浓度显著升高,差异均具有统计学意义(均Pra、ST-2和TNF-α水平呈正相关(r=0.270,P=0.005;r=0.213,P=0.029;r=0.291,P=0.003),与IL-9、IL-25和Granzyme b水平呈负相关(r=-0.322,Pranzyme b水平呈正相关(r=0.254,P=0.009;r=0.330,P<0.001;r=0.340,P<0.001),与IL-10水平呈负相关(r=-0.373,P=0.009)。结论PCOS患者外周血PD-1和PD-L1下调表达,可能与Th1/Th2细胞因子失衡相关,是治疗PCOS的潜在分子生物标志物。

The effect of the addition of small amounts of rare earths （Ln=la, Ce, Nd and Gd） to alumina supported copper-cobalt spinel oxide on the catalysts efficiency in CO and CH4 oxidation and in NO decomposition was investigated. Samples of Ln/CuCo/AI catalyst were prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, atomic absorption spectroscopy （AAS）, scanning electron mieroscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy （SEm-EDS）, H2-temperature-programmed reduc- tion （H2-TPR）, electron paramagnetic resonanee （EPR） spectroscopy and low temperature nitrogen adsorption, The results showed that the addition of rare earths changed the surface state of the alumina supported copper-cobalt spinel catalyst. As a result, partial re- duction of copper species was observed as well as migration of these species between the surface and the bulk. The Ln/CuCo/A1 catalysts behaved differently in oxidation and reduction processes. In oxidation processes where oxide structure was important, Ce/CuCo/A1 and Nd/CuCo/A1 were the most active catalysts. The catalyst Ce/CuCo/AI was the most active in the oxidation reactions because of the availability and favorable surface distribution of the redox couples Cu＋/Cu2＋ and Ce3＋/Ce4＋. In NO decompostion, Ln-modified catalysts significantly improved the selectivity of the process to N2.

brucella suis is responsible for swine brucellosis worldwide. Of the five different b. suis biovars （by.）, bv. 2 appears restricted to Europe where it is frequently isolated from wild boar and hares, can infect pigs and can cause human brucellosis. In this study, the differ- ential gene expression profile was characterized in spleens of Eurasian wild boar naturally infected with b. suis bv. 2. Of the 20,201 genes analyzed in the microarray, 633 and 1,373 were significantly （fold change 〉 1.8; P 〈 0.01） upregulated and downregulated, respectively, in infected wild boar. The analysis was focused on genes that were over represented after conditional test for biological process gene ontology. Upregulated genes suggested that b. suis bv. 2 infection induced cell maturation, migration and/or proliferation in infected animals. The genes downregulated in infected wild boar impaired the activity of several important cellular metabolic pathways such as metabolism, cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis, immune response and lysosomal function and vesicle-mediated transport. In addition, the response to stress, sperm fertility, muscle development and apoptosis seemed to be also impaired in infected animals. These results suggested that b. suis bv. 2 may use strategies similar to other smooth brucellae to facilitate intracellular multiplication and the development of chronic infections. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the analysis of gene expression profile in hosts infected with b. suis bv. 2, which is important to understand the molecular mechanisms at the host-pathogen interface in the main reservoir species with possible implications in the zoonotic cycle of the pathogen.

Simultaneous orthokinetic and perikinetic coagulations（SOPCs） are studied for small and large Peclet numbers（P e） using brownian dynamics *** results demonstrate that the contributions of the brownian motion and the shear flow to the overall coagulation rate are basically not *** the early stages of coagulation with small Peclet numbers,the ratio of overall coagulation rate to the rate of pure perikinetic coagulation is proportional to P 1/2 e,while with high Peclet numbers,the ratio of overall coagulation rate to the rate of pure orthokinetic coagulation is proportional to P 1/2 ***,our results show that the aggregation rate generally changes with time for the SOPC,which is different from that for pure perikinetic and pure orthokinetic *** comparing the SOPC with pure perikinetic and pure orthokinetic coagulations,we show that the redistribution of particles due to brownian motion can play a very important role in the *** addition,the effects of redistribution in the directions perpendicular and parallel to the shear flow direction are *** perspective explains the behavior of coagulation due to the joint effects of the brownian motion（perikinetic） and the fluid motion（orthokinetic）.

In this work, we study the DKP equation subjected to the action of combined vector plus scalar energy depend on potentials in(1+1) dimensions space-time. The conditions of normalisation and continuity equation are calculated. The eigenfunctions and the corresponding eigenvalues are then determined. A numerical study is presented and the energy graphs for some values of the energy parameter are plotted.

The density functional calculation is performed for centrosymmetric（la–Pm） GaO3 rare earth gallates, using a full potential linear augmented plane wave method with the LSDA and LSDA＋U exchange correlation to treat highly correlated electrons due to the very localized 4f orbitals of rare earth elements, and explore the influence of U = 0.478 Ry on the magnetic phase stability and the densities of states. LSDA＋U calculation shows that the ferromagnetic（Fm） state of RGaO3 is energetically more favorable than the anti-ferromagnetic（AFm） one, except for laGaO3 where the Nm state is the lowest in energy. The energy band gaps of RGaO3 are found to be in the range of 3.8–4.0 eV, indicating the semiconductor character with a large gap.

Production of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.), a staple legume crop in Sub-Saharan Africa, faces challenges due to biotic and abiotic constraints. Induced mutagenesis was deployed to create genetic variation in two cowpea varieties (KVX396-4-5-2D and moussa local). The radio-sensitivity tests led to determe the lethal dose 50 (LD50) corresponding to 230 Gy and 220 Gy for KVX396-4-5-2D and moussa local varieties, respectively. Dried seeds (m0) of each variety were gamma-ray irradiated with LD50 − 50, LD50 and LD50 + 50. m1 seeds were advanced to generate m2, m3 and m4 mutants using the single-seed-descent method. m4 mutant lines were evaluated in rain-fed conditions using a randomized complete block design to assess phenotypic differences. Data on seven qualitative and eleven quantitative traits were collected. The results indicated that the mutation induced variability in three qualitative traits: in KVX 396-4-5-2D mutant lines, with flower and seed color frequencies at 2.61% and 0.56% respectively, and pod dehiscence at a frequency of 0.24%. While in moussa local mutants, a pod color changed at a frequency of 17%. ANOVA results revealed significant differences between mutants of both varieties for all quantitative traits, including photosynthetic parameters. Positive correlations were observed between leaf diameter and 100-seed weight, and between branch number and 100-seed weight. Hierarchical clustering revealed three clusters among KVX 396-4-5-2D mutants and six clusters among moussa local mutants. Early maturity and high foliage were induced traits in Cluster 3 of KVX 396-4-5-2D mutants while high hundred-seed weight was induced in Cluster 6 of moussa local mutants.
