Urine is a potential source of diagnostic biomarkers for detection of diseases,and is a very attractive means of non-invasive biospecimen ***,proteomic measurement in urine is very challenging because diagnostic biomarkers exist in very low concentration(usually below the sensitivity of common immunoassays)and may be subject to rapid *** nanoparticles functionalized with Cibacron Blue F3G-A(CB)have been applied to address these challenges for urine biomarker *** chose one of the most difficult low abundance,but medically relevant,hormones in the urine:human growth hormone(hGH).The normal range of hGH in serum is 1 to 10 ng/mL but the urine concentration is suspected to be a thousand times less,well below the detection limit(50 pg/mL)of sensitive clinical hGH *** demonstrate that CB particles can capture,preserve and concentrate hGH in urine at physiological salt and urea concentrations,so that hGH can be measured in the linear range of a clinical immunometric *** and cadaveric hGH were captured from synthetic and human urine,concentrated and measured with an Immulite chemiluminescent *** of hGH less than 0.05 ng/mL(the Immulite detection limit)were concentrated to 2 ng/mL,with a urine volume of 1 *** response studies using 10 mL of urine demonstrated that the concentration of hGH in the particle eluate was linearly dependent on the concentration of hGH in the starting solution,and that all hGH was removed from *** if the starting urine volume is 100 mL,the detection limit will be 0.1 pg/*** from a healthy donor whose serum hGH concentration was 1.34 ng/mL was studied in order detect endogenous *** from a volume of 33 mL,the particle eluate had an hGH concentration of 58 pg/mL,giving an estimated initial concentration of hGH in urine of 0.175 pg/*** nanotechnology described here appears to have the desired precision,accuracy and sensitivity to suppor

In a real estate project, the estimated cost of construction and the revenues generally represent together the most important values of its feasibility study. When a decision of undertaking a project is made, often there are few definitions of what is about to be constructed, and frequently not enough to ensure the accuracy of the estimated costs. Considering a global tendency on reducing margins of return over the real estate markets, slight variations of the construction cost can jeopardize the success of the whole real estate enterprise and even the financial stability of the builder or of the developer. This article aims at presenting a method of estimating the building construction costs applicable at the stage of feasibility studies, being able to provide acceptable errors.

Introduction: There are few population-based studies conducted in Brazil outside the major urban centers, the prevalence of overweight, obesity and associated factors in the up country cities remains not noticed. Particularly, the characteristics of this phenomenon are unknown in the mountain regions of Santa Catarina (state of the southern region), which concentrate the lowest economic and social development of the state, where culture, dietary habits and climate are quite peculiar. Objective: To estimate the prevalence of nutritional status and its association with self-reported diseases in adults of lages, Santa Catarina. Methods: A cross sectional study including adults was conducted (n = 2022). Demographic information was collected as well as anthropometric measurements, through a number of interviews and physical examinations. The outcome of the study was the body mass index (BMI). The descriptive statistic was performed, as well as simple associations between BMI and the independent variables by sex. Correlations between BMI, abdominal circumference and self-reported diseases for men and women were tested separately. Results: The prevalence of normal weight, overweight and obesity among men was 41%, 39% and 19% respectively. Among women, the prevalence rates were 43%, 31% and 26%. It was observed that the obesity increase is correlated with low levels of education. The greater the BMI the more negative was the self-assessment of health. It was found a positive correlation between BMI and abdominal circumference, with diabetes mellitus and high blood pressure levels. Conclusions: There was a high prevalence of overweight and obesity in lages, SC. Strategies involving the various sectors of the community should be considered to reverse this process.

Aim： To examine the preference for two dosing regimens of 20 mg of tadalafil, on demand or three times per week, in men affected with erectile dysfunction （ED） in Italy. Methods： Scheduled Use versus on demand Regimen Evaluation （SURE） is a multicenter, crossover and open-label study, involving 94 urology centers in Italy. Patients aged 18 years or older affected with ED for at least 3 months were enrolled and randomized to 20 mg of tadalafil treatment on demand or three times per week for 5-6 weeks. After a 1-week washout, patients were crossed over to the alternate regimen for 5-6 weeks. A treatment preference question was used to determine the preferred treatment regimen. International Index of Erectile Function （IIEF） and Sexual Encounter Profile （SEP） questionnaire were used as efficacy measures. Results： A total of 1 058 men （mean age 54.8 years）, were randomized to treatment. Overall, 59.1% of patients preferred the on-demand regimen and 41.9% preferred the three times per week dosing. Both regimens were efficacious and well tolerated. Although a statistically higher improvement of the IIEF erectile function （IIEF-EF） domain score and the SEP questionnaire was reported for the three times per week compared to the ondemand treatment regimen, this difference was numerically minimal and lacking in clinical significance. Conclusion： Tadalafil is effective and well tolerated whether used on demand or three times per week. Patients should be given the option to choose the best treatment regimen according to personal needs and preferences.

Consequences of Low Risk and Hazardous Alcohol Consumption among University Students in Australia and Implications for Health Promotion Interventions

Background: Hazardous alcohol consumption and associated harms are high among young uni- versity students. The university environment is conducive to excessive alcohol consumption with studies finding young university students to drink alcohol at higher levels than their non-university peers. Methods: A random sample of 18 - 24-year-old undergraduate, internal university students completed a survey (n = 2465) to investigate differences in self-reported personal, second-hand and witnessed alcohol-related harms, alcohol expectancies, pre-loading, and friends’ alcohol consumption between low risk and hazardous drinkers. Univariate and multivariate analyses are reported. Results: Almost 40% of students who had consumed alcohol in the past year reported drinking at hazardous levels. Univariate analyses found students who reported hazardous drinking reported significantly higher scores relating to experienced, second-hand, witnessed and academic problems compared to low risk drinkers. Hazardous drinkers were also more likely to pre-load, to drink at higher levels when pre-loading, have more friends who drank alcohol, have more friends who drank at hazardous levels and to score higher on alcohol expectancies. However both low risk and hazardous drinkers experienced a range of harms due to their own drinking including hangover (71.2%), unprotected sex (19.3%), regretted sex (16.8%) and drink-driving (17%). Looking after an intoxicated student (34.3%) and witnessing someone pass out (37.5%) were issues for all drinkers. Experienced alcohol related harms, academic problems, alcohol expectancies, close friends’ level of alcohol consumption, pre-loading in the last four weeks and level of consumption when pre-loading were predictors of hazardous drinking (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Young undergraduate university students are at risk of a range of academic, social, emotional and physical harms associated with their own and other students’ alcohol consumption. Sharing sensitive data is a specific challenge for research infrastructures in the field of life sciences. For that reason a toolbox has been developed, providing resources for researchers who wish to share and use sensitive data, to support the workflows for handling these kinds of digital objects. Common and community approved annotations are required to be compliant with FAIR principles(Findability, Accessibility,Interoperability, Reusability). The toolbox makes use of a tagging(categorisation) system, allowing consistent labelling and categorisation of digital objects, in terms relevant to data sharing tasks and activities. A pilot study was performed within the Horizon 2020 project EOSC-Life, in which 2 experts from 6 life sciences research infrastructures were recruited to independently assign tags to the same set of 10 to 25 resources related to sensitive data management and data sharing(in total 110). Summary statistics of agreement and observer variation per research infrastructure are provided. The pilot study has shown that experts were able to attribute tags but in most cases with a considerable observer variation between experts. In the context of CWFR(Canonical Workflow Frameworks for Research), this indicates the necessity for careful definition,evaluation and validation of parameters and processes related to workflow descriptions. The results from this pilot study were used to tackle this issue by revising the categorisation system and providing an updated version.

Successful Surgical Treatment of a Giant Mediastinal False Aneurysm 30 Years after Bentall Operation

False aneurysm occurring after replacement of ascending aorta by a vascular prosthesis is a rare, but life-threatening complication. In spite of advances in endovascular techniques, surgery remains the treatment of choice in the majority of cases. We report the case of a huge pseudoaneurysm caused by late dehiscence of the right coronary ostium-aortic tubular graft anastomosis, occurred 30 years after replacement of aortic valve and ascending aorta by classical Bentall operation. A fistula originating from the aneurysmal sac extended across the sternum into the thoracic subcutaneous soft tissues and gave rise to a pulsatile mass well appreciable on the anterior chest wall. The surgical treatment, consisting of partial resection of the aortic tubular graft and sternal reconstruction was effective and uneventful.

In this work,the impact of the doping process on the photoluminescence emission of CaWO_(4) as a function of the concentration of Eu^(3+) cation(0.01 mol%,0.02 mol%,0.04 mol%,0.06 mol%,0.08 mol%,and 0.10 mol%) is discussed in ***_(1-x)WO~4:xEu^(3+) samples were successfully synthesized by a simple coprecipitation method followed by microwave *** blue shift in the absorption edge confirms the quantum confinement effect and the band gap energy covers the range from 3.91 to 4.18 eV,as the amount of Eu^(3+) cations *** experimental results are sustained by first-principles calculations,at the density functional theory level,to decipher the geometry and electronic properties,thereby enabling a more accurate and direct comparison between theory and experiment for the Ca_(1-x)WO_(4):xEu^(3+) structure.
