Reliable and economical energy storage technologies are urgently required to ensure sustainable energy ***(H_(2))is an energy carrier that can be produced environmentfriendly by renewable power to split water(H_(2)O)via electrochemical *** this way,electric energy is stored as chemical energy of H_(2),and the storage can be large-scale and *** the electrochemical technologies for H_(2)O electrolysis,solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs)operated at temperatures above 500℃have the benefits of high energy conversion efficiency and economic *** addition to the H_(2)O electrolysis,SOECs can also be employed for CO_(2) electrolysis and H2O–CO_(2) co-electrolysis to produce value-added chemicals of great economic and environmental ***,the SOEC technology is not yet fully ready for commercial deployment because of material limitations of the key components,such as electrolytes,air electrodes,and fuel *** is well known,the reactions in SOEC are,in principle,inverse to the reactions in solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs).Component materials of SOECs are currently adopted from SOFC ***,their performance stability issues are evident,and need to be overcome by materials development in line with the unique requirements of the SOEC *** topics discussed in this review include SOEC critical materials and their optimization,material degradation and its safeguards,future research directions,and commercialization challenges,from both traditional oxygen ion(O_(2)−)-conducting SOEC(O-SOEC)and proton(H^(+))-conducting SOEC(H-SOEC)*** is worth to believe that H_(2)O or/and CO_(2) electrolysis by SOECs provides a viable solution for future energy storage and conversion.

Novel hybrid refill friction stir spot welding （RFSSW） assisted with ultrasonic oscillation was introduced to 5A06 aluminum alloy joints. The metallographic structure and mechanical properties of 5A06 aluminum alloy RFSSW joints formed without ultrasonic assistance and with lateral and longitudinal ultrasonic assistance were compared, and the ultrasonic-assisted RFSSW process parameters were opti- mized. The results show that compared with lateral ultrasonic oscillation, longitudinal ultrasonic oscillation strengthens the horizontal bond- ing ligament in the joint and has a stronger effect on the joint＇s shear strength. By contrast, lateral ultrasonic oscillation strengthens the ver- tical bonding ligament and is more effective in increasing the joint＇s tensile strength. The maximum shear strength of ultrasonic-assisted RFSSW 5A06 aluminum alloy joints is as high as 8761 N, and the maximum tensile strength is 3679 N when the joints are formed at a tool rotating speed of 2000 r/rain, a welding time of 3.5 s, a penetration depth of 0.2 mm, and an axial pressure of 11 kN.

Objective:To determine the neuroprotective effects of apigenin against streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic neuropathy(DN).Methods:To induce DN,Wistar rats(150-200 g)were administered with STZ(55 mg/kg,i.p.).Then they were randomly assigned to various groups,viz.,normal,diabetic control,insulin(10 IU/kg,s.c.),apigenin(5,10,and 20 mg/kg,p.o.),and insulin(10 IU/kg)plus apigenin(20 mg/kg,p.o.).Various behavioral,biochemical,and molecular markers[tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4),myeloid differentiation primary response 88(MyD88),and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)]were ***:Apigenin(10 and 20 mg/kg,p.o.)substantially reduced plasma glucose levels,lipid profile,aspartate transaminase,alanine transaminase,glycated hemoglobin,and neural advanced glycation end products in STZ-induced DN rats(Pbody weight,urine output,allodynia,hyperalgesia,and insulin levels were markedly improved(P<0.05).Neural antioxidant enzymes(superoxide dismutase and glutathione)and Na+K+ATPase activity were also considerably elevated(P<0.05)while the level of lipid peroxidation was diminished following apigenin therapy(P<0.05).Furthermore,apigenin markedly upregulated the Nrf2 mRNA level while downregulating the mRNA expressions of TNF-αand ILs and the protein expressions of TLR4 and MyD88(P<0.05).STZ-induced histological abnormalities in the sciatic nerve were also improved by apigenin ***:Apigenin exerts its neuroprotective effect by modulating the inflammatory and oxidative stress pathways via regulating the TLR4-MyD88 signaling pathway.

We take the established inductively coupled plasma(ICP) wind tunnel as a research object to investigate the thermal protection system of re-entry vehicles. A 1.2-MW high power ICP wind tunnel is studied through numerical simulation and experimental validation. The distribution characteristics and interaction mechanism of the flow field and electromagnetic field of the ICP wind tunnel are investigated using the multi-field coupling method of flow, electromagnetic, chemical, and thermodynamic field. The accuracy of the numerical simulation is validated by comparing the experimental results with the simulation results. Thereafter, the wind tunnel pressure, air velocity, electron density, Joule heating rate, Lorentz force, and electric field intensity obtained using the simulation are analyzed and discussed. The results indicate that for the 1.2-MW ICP wind tunnel, the maximum values of temperature, pressure, electron number density, and other parameters are observed during coil heating. The influence of the radial Lorentz force on the momentum transfer is stronger than that of the axial Lorentz force. The electron number density at the central axis and the amplitude and position of the Joule heating rate are affected by the radial Lorentz force. Moreover, the plasma in the wind tunnel is constantly in the subsonic flow state, and a strong eddy flow is easily generated at the inlet of the wind tunnel.

Implementation of the water-sediment regulation(WSR) scheme, mainly focused on solving the sedimentation problems of reservoirs and the lower reaches of the Yellow River, has inevitably influenced the sediment distribution and coastal morphology of the Yellow River *** coastline delineation and suspended sediment concentration(SSC) retrieval methods, this study investigated water and sediment changes,identified detailed inter-annual and intra-annual variations of the coastline and SSC in the normal period(NP: 1986-2001, before and after the flood season) and WSR period(WSRP: 2002-2013, before and after WSR). The results indicate that(1) the sedimentation in the low reaches of the Yellow River turned into erosion from 2002 onward;(2) the inter-annual coastline changes could be divided into an accretion stage(1986-1996), a slow erosion stage(1996-2002), and a slow accretion stage(2002-2013);(3) an intra-annual coastline extension occurred in the river mouth in most years of the WSRP; and(4) the mean intra-annual accretion area was 0.789 km^2 in the NP and 4.73 km2 in the WSRP,and the mean SSC increased from 238 mg/L to 293 mg/L in the NP and from 192 mg/L to 264 mg/L in the WSRP.

To improve the mechanical properties of self-lubricating chromium vanadium nitride （CrVN） coatings, va- nadium nitride （VN） is combined with CrVN to form multilayered CrVN/VN coatings through an in-line magnetron sputtering system. The strengthening effect of the period thickness on the mechanical and tribological properties is studied. X-ray diffractometer, low-angle X-ray reflectivity, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, electron probe micro-analyzer and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy are employed to characterize the microstructures and chemical composition. Nanoindentation and ball-on-disc tribo-tester are used in characterization of the mechanical and tribological properties. The CrVN/VN multilayer coatings demonstrate good lubrication property with coefficient of friction down to 0.23. Multilayering with VN, the hardness of CrVN jumps to 27.6 GPa with period thickness of 6 nm, which has an improvement of 5.1 GPa compared with that of 22.5 GPa from rule-of-mixture.
