Karstsinnectes cehengensis(Cypriniformes:Nemacheilidae),a new species of cave fish from Guizhou,china

Four species of the genus Karstsinnectes,which live in dark,low-energy groundwater ecosystems,are currently recorded,mainly distributed in the upstream of the Pearl River,the Youjiang River and the Hongshui *** biodiversity surveys is particularly difficult due to the particular cave habitats inhabited by these *** this work,we describe a new cave fish of the genus Karstsinnectes,namely *** luo,Zhao&Zhou,***.,collected from the Beipanjiang River,the upstream of the Hongshui ***,the four individuals of the new species form a phylogenetically separate lineage,as the sister clade of ***,with a 9.4–9.5%genetic difference in mitochondrial Cyt ***,the new species can be distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological characteristics:body naked,without body color;eyes reduced,diameter 1.4–3.8%of head length;anterior and posterior nostrils adjacent,anterior nostril not elongated to a barbel-like tip;lateral line incomplete;caudal fin forked;dorsal-fin rays iii-7,pectoral-fin rays i-11–12,pelvic-fin rays i-7,anal-fin rays iii-5,with 14 branched caudal-fin *** discovery of this new species represents the northernmost distribution of species within the genus Karstsinnectes and the first record from Guizhou *** currently known species of this genus inhabited in caves,making them ideal organisms for studying historical river connectivity and cave formation process.

Highly efficient photo-thermal synergistic catalysis of CO_(2)methanation over La_(1-x)Ce_(x)NiO_(3)perovskite-catalyst

Solar-driven photo-thermal catalytic CO_(2)methanation reaction is a promising technology to alleviate the problems posed by greenhouse gases ***,designing advanced photo-thermal catalysts remains a research challenge for CO_(2)methanation *** this work,a series of ABO3(A=lanthanide,B=transition metal)perovskite catalysts with Ce-substituted LaNiO3(La_(1-x)Ce_(x)NiO_(3),x=0,0.2,0.5,0.8,1)were synthesized for CO_(2)*** La_(0.2)Ce_(0.8)NiO_(3) exhibited the highest CH_(4) formation rate of 258.9 mmol·g^(-1)·hcat-1,CO_(2)conversion of 55.4%and 97.2%CH_(4) selectivity at 300℃with the light intensity of 2.9 W·cm^(-2).Then the catalysts were thoroughly analyzed by physicochemical structure and optical properties *** partial substitution of the A-site provided more active sites for the adsorption and activation of CO_(2)/H_(2).The sources of the active sites were considered to be the oxygen vacancies(O_(v))created by lattice distortions due to different species of ions(La^(3+),Ce^(4+),Ce^(3+))and exsolved Ni0 by H_(2)*** catalysts have excellent light absorption absorbance and low electron-hole(e^(-)/h^(+))recombination rate,which greatly contribute to the excellent performance in photo-thermal synergistic catalysis(PTC)CO_(2)*** results of in situ irradiated electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer(ISI-EPR)and ISI-X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)indicated that the aggregation of unpaired electrons near the defects and Ni metal(from La and Ce ions to Ov and Ni0)accelerated adsorption and activation of CO_(2)/H_(2).At last,the catalyst properties and structure were correlated with the proposed reaction mechanism from the in situ diffuse reflection infrared Fourier transform spectrum(DRIFTS)*** in situ precipitation of the B-site enhanced the dispersion of Ni,while its enriched photoelectrons upon illumination further promote hydrogen *** H^(*)spillover accelerated t

The utilization of the dispersive Fourier transformation approach has enabled comprehensive observation of the birth process of dissipative solitons in fiber ***,there is still a dearth of deep understanding regarding the extinction process of dissipative *** this study,we have utilized a combination of experimental and numerical techniques to thoroughly examine the breathing dynamics of dissipative solitons during the extinction process in an Er-doped mode-locked fiber *** results demonstrate that the transient breathing dynamics have a substantial impact on the extinction stage of both steady-state and breathing-state dissipative *** duration of transient breathing exhibits a high degree of sensitivity to variations in pump *** simulations are utilized to produce analogous breathing dynamics within the framework of a model that integrates equations characterizing the population inversion in a mode-locked *** results corroborate the role of Q-switching instability in the onset of breathing ***,these findings offer new possibilities for the advancement of various operational frameworks for ultrafast lasers.

Aiming at improving the survey efficiency of the Wide Field Survey Telescope, we have developed a basic scheduling strategy that takes into account the telescope characteristics, observing conditions, and weather conditions at the Lenghu site. The sky area is divided into rectangular regions, referred to as “tiles,” with a size of2°. 577 × 2°. 634 slightly smaller than the focal area of the mosaic CCDs. These tiles are continuously filled in annulars parallel to the equator. The brightness of the sky background, which varies with the moon phase and distance from the moon, plays a significant role in determining the accessible survey fields. Approximately 50connected tiles are grouped into one block for observation. To optimize the survey schedule, we perform simulations by taking into account the length of exposures, data readout, telescope slewing, and all relevant observing conditions. We utilize the Greedy Algorithm for scheduling optimization. Additionally, we propose a dedicated dithering pattern to cover the gaps between CCDs and the four corners of the mosaic CCD array, which are located outside of the 3° field of view. This dithering pattern helps to achieve relatively uniform exposure maps for the final survey outputs.

Surface acoustic wave(SAW)gas sensors based on the acoustoelectric effect exhibit wide application prospects for in situ gas ***,establishing accurate models for calculating the scattering parameters of SAW gas sensors remains a ***,we present a coupling of modes(COM)model that includes the acoustoelectric effect and specifically explains the nonmonotonic variation in the center frequency with respect to the sensing film’s sheet *** sensing parameters of the gas sensors,including the center frequency,insertion loss,and phase,were experimentally compared for accuracy and ***,the frequency of the phase extremum(FPE)shift was determined to vary monotonically,and the range of selectable test points was wide,making the FPE an appropriate response parameter for leveraging in SAW gas *** simulation results of the COM model were highly consistent with the experimental *** study is proposed to provide theoretical guidance for the future development of gas SAW sensors.

Metasurface-assisted low-frequency performance enhancement of ultra-broadband honeycomb absorber based on carbon nanotubes

Here,we present a unique method to enhance the low-frequency absorption performance of a honeycomb absorber by integrating a *** geometrical dimensions of the proposed metasurface have been numerically *** introduction of the metasurface allows exploitation of its robust resonance and superior impedance matching in low-frequency bands,thereby improving microwave absorption *** incorporation of the metasurface does not impact the wave transmission performance of the honeycomb core absorber at high-frequency band,thus preserving its high-frequency *** broadens the absorption range,leading to an expanded *** results reveal that the composite absorber(CA)exhibits strong absorption performance with an incident angle stability up to 45°for both transverse electric(TE)and transverse magnetic(TM)*** absorption mechanism of the CA has been investigated by using an equivalent circuit model and electromagnetic field analysis.A prototype was designed,fabricated,and tested to validate the proposed *** simulation and measurement results demonstrate that the prototype can achieve an average absorption rate exceeding 90%across a 1.0-18.0 GHz *** study introduces an innovative technique for creating microwave absorbers for low-frequency wideband applications.

Composite solid electrolytes(CSEs) containing polymer matrices and inorganic fillers hold promise for the next generation of solid-state ***,the role of residual solvents in CSEs remains *** study investigated the evolution and function of the residual solvent in a polymer-Li_2B_(12)H_(12) CSE.A partial reaction occurred between Li_2B_(12)H_(12) and solvent N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF),which produced dimethylaminomethanol(DMAM) in the *** functional theory calculations have revealed that DMA M forms stronger hydrogen bonds with polyvinylidene fluoride chains than DMF,which can have a plasticizing effect on the polymer matrix,leading to lower crystallinity and quicker segment ***,this CSE exhibited improved Li-ion conducting properties,enabling the stable cycling of Li‖LiFePO_(4) solid-state *** study provided insights into the role of residual solvents in CSEs.

Doyle-Kirmse rearrangement reactions have received continuous attention as an important method for constructing complex chemical structures. Herein, we disclosed an efficient rhodium-catalyzed DoyleKirmse rearrangement reaction, which can simultaneously construct C–C bonds and C–X(X = S/Se) bonds using sulfoxonium ylides as starting materials to obtain sulfur-or selenium-containing compounds. This strategy is characterized by the safer and greener carbene precursor, high yields and broad substrate scope, possessing a wide range of application.

Global Marine Cold Seep Metagenomes Reveal Diversity of Taxonomy,Metabolic Function,and Natural Products

Cold seeps in the deep sea are closely linked to energy exploration as well as global climate *** alkane-dominated chemical energy-driven model makes cold seeps an oasis of deep-sea life,showcasing an unparalleled reservoir of microbial genetic ***,by analyzing 113 metagenomes collected from 14 global sites across 5 cold seep types,we present a comprehensive Cold Seep Microbiomic Database(CSMD)to archive the genomic and functional diversity of cold seep *** CSMD includes over 49 million non-redundant genes and 3175 metagenome-assembled genomes,which represent 1895 species spanning 105 *** addition,beta diversity analysis indicates that both the sampling site and cold seep type have a substantial impact on the prokaryotic microbiome community *** and anaerobic metabolisms are prevalent in microbial communities,accompanied by considerable mixotrophs and facultative anaerobes,highlighting the versatile metabolic potential in cold ***,secondary metabolic gene cluster analysis indicates that at least 98.81%of the sequences potentially encode novel natural products,with ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides being the predominant type widely distributed in archaea and ***,the CSMD represents a valuable resource that would enhance the understanding and utilization of global cold seep microbiomes.

Background Diarrhea is a common complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT)and is associated with substantial morbidity,but its etiology is often *** of diarrhea in this population include infectious causes,chemotherapy-or medication-induced mucosal injury and graft-versus-host disease(GVHD).Distinguishing these potential causes of diarrhea is challenging since diarrheal symptoms are often multifactorial,and the etiologies often overlap in transplant *** objectives of this study were to evaluate whether the FilmArray gastrointestinal(GI)panel would increase diagnostic yield and the degree to which pre-transplantation colonization predicts post-transplantation *** From November 2019 to February 2021,a total of 158 patients undergoing HSCT were prospectively included in the *** specimens were obtained from all HSCT recipients prior to conditioning therapy,28±7 days after transplantation and at any new episode of *** stool samples were tested by the FilmArray GI panel and other clinical microbiological *** The primary cause of post-transplantation diarrhea was infection(57/84,67.86%),followed by medication(38/84,45.24%)and GVHD(21/84,25.00%).Ninety-five of 158 patients were colonized with at least one gastrointestinal pathogen before conditioning therapy,and the incidence of infectious diarrhea was significantly higher in colonized patients(47/95,49.47%)than in non-colonized patients(10/63,15.87%)(P<0.001).Fourteen of 19(73.68%)patients who were initially colonized with norovirus pre-transplantation developed a post-transplantation norovirus ***-four of 62(38.71%)patients colonized with Clostridium difficile developed a diarrheal *** addition,FilmArray GI panel testing improved the diagnostic yield by almost twofold in our study(55/92,59.78%vs.30/92,32.61%).Conclusions Our data show that more than half of pediatric patients who were admitted for HSCT were colonized
