The information of expression texture extracted by the completed local ternary patterns(CLTP) method is not accurate enough, which may cause low recognition rate. Therefore, an improved completed local ternary patterns(ICLTP) is proposed here. Firstly, the Scharr operator is used to calculate gradient magnitudes of images to enhance the detail of texture, which is beneficial to obtaining more accurate expression features. Secondly, two different neighborhoods of CLTP features are combined to obtain much information of facial expression. Finally, K nearest neighbor(KNN) and sparse representation classifier(SRC) are combined for classification and a 10-fold cross-validation method is tested in the JAFFE and CK+ databases. The results show that the ICLTP method can improve the recognition rate of facial expression and reduce the confusion between various expressions. Especially, the misrecognition rate of other six expressions recognized as neutral is reduced in the 7-class expression recognition.

Soil moisture is a limiting factor for vegetation restoration on the Loess Plateau, China. Micro-topography may cause heterogeneities in the distribution of soil moisture, but little is known about its effect on deep soil moisture. Our study aims to explore the distribution and impact of soil moisture within the upper 10 m of soil for different microtopographies. Taking undisturbed slope as the control, five micro-topographies were selected. Soil moisture over a depth of 0-10 m from 2017 to 2019 was investigated, and soil particle size and soil organic matter were measured. Variance analysis and multiple comparisons were used to analyze the difference in soil moisture for different microtopographies and multiple-linear regression was used to analyze the influence of micro-topography on soil moisture. There are significant differences in soil moisture within the different layers underlying the examined micro-topographies, while the inter-annual variation in soil water storage for the selected microtopographies increase with increased rainfall. The depth of influence of micro-topographic vegetation on soil moisture exceeded 1000 cm for a gully(GU), 740 cm for a sink hole(SH), 480 cm for a scarp(SC), 360 cm for an ephemeral gully(EG) and 220 cm for a platform(PL). Micro-topography will cause the heterogeneous distribution of soil moisture in the shallower layers, which changes the vegetation distribution differences between micro-topographies. This may be the survival strategy of herbaceous vegetation in response to climate change in the Loess Plateau. For future vegetation restoration efforts, we need to pay attention to the influence of microtopography on soil moisture.

In this paper, the finite-time consensus problems of heterogeneous multi-agent systems composed of both linear and nonlinear dynamics agents are investigated. Nonlinear consensus protocols are proposed for the heterogeneous multi-agent systems. Some sufficient conditions for the finite-time consensus are established in the leaderless and leader-following cases. The results are also extended to the case where the communication topology is directed and satisfies a detailed balance condition on coupling weights. At last, some simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results.

This paper illustrated the software architecture of our concrete safety expert system. Three advanced technologies are proposed and have been applied to our expert system to greatly improve the intelligent level, which are human computer interaction technology (conceptual model, dialogue management, interface entity and interface construct), intelligent agency user interface (IAUI) and component technology. The important character of the system architecture in our expert system is adapting advanced intelligent interface and scientific integration of various components different from common system architecture of expert system. Especially, in the interface\|friendly multimedia system intelligent interface is required.

BACKGROUND Rectal subepithelial lesions(SELs) are commonly seen in endoscopic examination, generally manifested as bumps with a smooth surface. Precise preoperative diagnoses for rectal SELs are difficult because abnormal tissues are not easily to be obtained by regular endoscopic forceps biopsy. Traditional guidance modalities of preoperative biopsy, including endoscopic ultrasound, computed tomography, and transabdominal ultrasound, are often unsatisfactory. An updated, safe, and effective biopsy guidance method is required. We herein report a new biopsy guidance modality—endorectal ultrasound(ERUS) combined with contrastenhanced ultrasound(CEUS).CASE SUMMARY A 32-year-old woman complained of a mass inside the rectovaginal space for 9 years, which became enlarged within 1 year. A rectal SEL detected by endoscopy was suspected to be a gastrointestinal stromal tumor or exophytic uterine fibroid. Pathological diagnosis was difficult because of unsuccessful transabdominal core needle biopsy with insufficient tissues, as well as vaginal hemorrhage. A second biopsy was suggested after multiple disciplinary treatment discussion, which referred to a transperineal core needle biopsy(CNB) guided by ERUS combined with CEUS. Adequate samples were procured and rectal gastrointestinal stromal tumor was proved to be the pathological diagnosis. Imatinib was recommended for first-line therapy by multiple disciplinary treatment discussion. After the tumor shrunk, resection of the rectal gastrointestinal stromal tumor was performed through the posterior vaginal wall. Adjuvant therapy was applied and no recurrence or metastasis has been found by the last follow-up on December 13, *** Transperineal CNB guided by ERUS and CEUS is a safe and effective preoperative biopsy of rectal SELs yet with some limitations.
