System control-mediated drug delivery towards complex systems via nanodiamond carriers

Cells represent the basic units of life and contain an intertwined network of signaling and regulatory circuitries that drive the processes of *** processes include the mediation of mechano-sensation,onset of and protection against disease,inflammation,and *** the network of bio-complex systems,each pathway interacts nonlinearly with others through different molecular *** a result,specific functionalities can not be simply linked to the cellular molecules in isolation.A complex system generally possesses very rich information content that can be characterized by the following features:(i)they contain a large number of building blocks;(ii)their interactions among building blocks and with their environment;(iii)they display organization without an external organizing principle being applied;and(iv)they exhibit adaptability and *** properties account for the innate intelligence of biology and its ability to regulate its homeostatic ***,this same complexity underlies,in cancer for example,challenges towards disease management,as the addressing of singular pathways with therapeutic compounds is not ***,combinatorial therapy often serves as a key strategy towards tumor *** iterative searching for optimized therapeutic combinations is indeed a daunting,if not preclusive task,we introduce the feedback system control(FSC)scheme,which may serve as a clinically relevant approach,provided a translational approach towards drug delivery is *** to their innate biocompatibility,which has been comprehensively observed,as well as their ability to delivery virtually any type of therapeutic in a sustained fashion due to their unique surface properties,nanodiamonds may serve as a foundation for nanoenabled combinatorial therapy.

Pseudobacteremia with amoxycillin-clavulanic acid-resistant Escherichia coli traced to cross-contamination during blood culture processing

Escherichia coli has seldom been reported to cause pseudobacteremia. The investigation of an outbreak of amoxycillin clavulanic acid resistant E. coli pseudobacteremia is described. Seventeen cases occurred over a five day period. The source of the E. coli was traced to the blood culture specimen of a patient (index patient) with genuine bacteremia as a result of urinary tract infection. The other 16 case patients had pseudobacteremia which was found to be the result of cross contamination during subculture of blood specimens. The E. coli strain was carried over from the culture bottle of the index patient, through the contaminated gloved hands of a technician to the culture bottles of the other 16 cases. Although the pseudobacteremia occurred over a five day period, they all resulted from cross contamination during blood culture processing within one day. An early outbreak investigation was prompted by the unusual finding of amoxycillin clavulanic acid resistance in the case E. coli isolates in a short period. The relatedness of the E. coli strains from the 17 cases was confirmed by arbitrary primed polymerase chain reaction. Clinicians should be alerted to the possibility of a blood E. coli isolate being a contaminant despite its predominant role as a true pathogen.

Research on interaction of innovation spillovers in the AI,Fin‑Tech,and IoT industries:considering structural changes accelerated by COVID‑19

This paper aims to probe the influence of innovation spillovers in the artificial intelligence(AI)and financial technology(Fin-tech)industries on the value of the internet of things(IoT)*** was utilized to download public information from Yahoo Finance,and then the GARCH model was used to extract the fluctuations of cross-industry innovation ***,the Fama–French three-factor model was used to explore the interactive changes between *** panel data regression analysis indicates that the more firms accept innovation spillovers from other industries,the better the excess return;however,this effect differs because of industrial attributes and the environmental changes induced by ***,this study finds that investing in large-cap growth stocks of IoT firms is more likely to yield excess ***,the study yields lessons for policy leverage to accelerate the upgrading and transformation of innovation-interactive industries by referring to the practices of Singapore and South Korea.

Defect inspection of indoor components in buildings using deep learning object detection and augmented reality

Visual inspection is commonly adopted for building operation,maintenance,and *** durability and defects of components or materials in buildings can be quickly assessed through visual ***,implementations of visual inspection are substantially time-consuming,labor-intensive,and error-prone because useful auxiliary tools that can instantly highlight defects or damage locations from images are not ***,an advanced building inspection framework is developed and implemented with augmented reality(AR)and real-time damage detection in this *** this framework,engineers should walk around and film every corner of the building interior to generate the three-dimensional(3D)environment through ***,a trained YOLOv5 model real-time detects defects during this process,even in a large-scale field,and the defect locations indicating the detected defects are then marked in this 3D *** defects areas can be measured with centimeter-level accuracy with the light detection and ranging(LiDAR)on *** required damage information,including defect positions and sizes,is collected at a time and can be rendered in the 2D and 3D ***,this visual inspection can be efficiently conducted,and the previously generated environment can also be loaded to re-localize existing defect marks for future maintenance and change ***,the proposed framework is also implemented and verified by an underground parking lot in a building to detect and quantify surface defects on concrete *** seen in the results,the conventional building inspection is significantly improved with the aid of the proposed framework in terms of damage localization,damage quantification,and inspection efficiency.

Xieite,a new mineral,occurs in the shock vein of the Suizhou *** mineral has an ortho-rhombic structure and its space group is *** cell parameters are a = 9.462(6),b = 9.562(9),c = 2.916(1).The crystal-chemical formula is(Fe0.87Mg0.13Mn0.01)1.01(Cr1.62Al0.25Ti0.08V0.02)1.97O4,or simply formula *** X-ray diffraction lines are [d(),I/Io]:(2.675,100),(2.389,20),(2.089,10),(1.953,90),(1.566,60),(1.439,15),(1.425,15),(1.337,40).Xieite is a high pressure polymorph of FeCr2O4 and formed by solid-state transformation of chromite under shock-induced high pressure and tem-perature,in association with other high-pressure minerals including ringwoodite,majorite,lingunite and *** P-T condition for the formation of xieite is estimated to be 18―23 GPa and 1800―1950℃,*** has recently been approved by the Commission on New Minerals,Nomenclature and Classification of the International Mineralogical Association(IMA 2007-056).The mineral name,xieite,is named after Xiande Xie.

Techno-economic Analysis of Distributed Hydrogen Production from Natural Gas

It is well established that hydrogen has the potential to make a significant contribution to the world energy *** U.S.,majority of hydrogen production plants implement steam methane reforming(SMR) for centralized hydrogen ***,there is a wide lack of agreement on the nascent stage of using hydrogen as fuel in vehicles industry because of the difficulty in delivery and *** performing technological and economic analysis,this work aims to establish the most feasible hydrogen production pathway for automotives in near *** the evaluation,processes such as thermal cracking of ammonia and centralized hydrogen production followed by bulk delivery are eliminated while on-site steam reforming of methanol and natural gas are the most technologically feasible *** two processes are further evaluated by comprehensive economic *** results showed that the steam reforming(SR) of natural gas has a shorter payback time and a higher return on investment(ROI) and internal rate of return(IRR).Sensitivity analysis has also been constructed to evaluate the impact of variables like NG feedstock price,capital of investment and operating capacity factor on the overall production cost of *** on this study,natural gas is prompted to be the most economically and technologically available raw material for short-term hydrogen production before the transition to renewable energy source such as solar energy,biomass and wind power.
