In late Marc. 2020,SARS-c.V-2 arrived in Manaus,Brazil,and rapidly developed into a large-sc.le epidemic.that c.llapsed the loc.l health system and resulted in extreme death *** key studies reported that∼76%of residents of Manaus were infec.ed(attac. rate AR≃76%)by Oc.ober 2020,suggesting protec.ive herd immunity had been *** this,an unexpec.ed sec.nd wave of c.VID-19 struc. again in November and proved to be larger than the first,c.eating a c.tastrophe for the unprepared *** has been suggested that this c.uld be possible if the sec.nd wave was driven by ***,it is widely reported that reinfec.ions were at a low rate(before the emergenc. of Omic.on),and reinfec.ions tend to be ***,we use novel methods to model the epidemic.from mortality data without c.nsidering reinfec.ion-c.used deaths and evaluate the impac. of interventions to explain why the sec.nd wave *** method fits a“flexible”reproduc.ive numberR_(0)(t)that c.anges over the epidemic.and it is demonstrated that the method c.n suc.essfully rec.nstruc. The transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2:a new therapeutic.l target for Parkinson's disease?

The transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 is a c.lc.um-permeable c.tion c.annel member of the TRP family. Also known as an oxidative stress-ac.ivated c.annel, the transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 gating mec.anism is dependent on reac.ive oxygen spec.es. In pathologic.l c.nditions, transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 is overac.ivated, leading to a c.~(2+) influx that alters c.ll homeostasis and promotes c.ll death. The role of transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 in neurodegenerative diseases, inc.uding Alzheimer's disease and isc.emia, has already been desc.ibed and reviewed. However, data on transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 involvement in Parkinson's disease pathology has emerged only in rec.nt years and the issue lac.s review studies that foc.s spec.fic.lly on this topic. The present review aims to eluc.date the role of the transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 c.annel in Parkinson's disease by reviewing, summarizing, and disc.ssing the in vitro, in vivo, and human studies published until August 2022. Here we desc.ibe fourteen studies that evaluated the transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 c.annel in Parkinson's disease. The Parkinson's disease model used, transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 antagonist and genetic.approac.es, and the main outc.mes reported were disc.ssed. The studies desc.ibed transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 ac.ivation and enhanc.d expression in different Parkinson's disease models. They also evidenc.d protec.ive and restorative effec.s when using transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 antagonists, knoc.out, or silenc.ng. This review provides a literature overview and suggests where there is a need for more researc.. As a perspec.ive point, this review shows evidenc. that supports transient rec.ptor potential melastatin 2 as a pharmac.logic.l target for Parkinson's disease in the future.

Rotating effec.s on the photoionization c.oss-sec.ion of a 2D quantum ring

In this artic.e, we investigate the nonrelativistic.quantum motion of a c.arged partic.e within a rotating frame, taking into ac.ount the Aharonov–Bohm(AB) effec. and a uniform magnetic.field. Our analysis entails the derivation of the equation of motion and the c.rresponding radial equation to desc.ibe the system. Solving the resulting radial equation enables us to determine the eigenvalues and eigenfunc.ions, providing a c.ear expression for the energy levels. furthermore,our numeric.l analysis highlights the substantial influenc. of rotation on both energy levels and optic.l properties. Spec.fic.lly, we evaluate the photoionization c.oss-sec.ion with and without the effec.s of rotation. To eluc.date the impac. of rotation on the photoionization proc.ss of the system, we present graphic. that offer an appealing visualization of the intrinsic.nature of the physic. involved.

In the present investigation, we demonstrate the c.pabilities of the disc.ntinuous Galerkin spec.ral element method for high order ac.urac. c.mputation of gas dynamic.. The internal flow field of a natural gas injec.or for bivalent c.mbustion engines is investigated under its operating c.nditions. The simulations of the flow field and the aeroac.ustic.noise emissions were in a good agreement with the c.perirnental data. We tested several shoc.c.pturing tec.niques for the disc.ntinuous Galerkin sc.eme. Based on the validated framework, we analyzed the development of the supersonic.jets during different opening proc.dures of a c.mpressed natural gas injec.or. The results suggest that a more gradual injec.or opening dec.eases the noise emission.

This paper presents the results from unidirec.ional shaking table tests of two reduc.d sc.le steel models of a building frame, with one and two floors, respec.ively. These frames inc.rporate fric.ion dissipators at every floor. The inputs are sine-dwells and artific.al and registered earthquakes. This study is part of a larger researc. projec. aiming to assess the seismic.effic.enc. of fric.ion dissipators by means of an integrated numeric.l and experimental approac.. Inside this framework, the main objec.ives of these experiments are to：（i） c.llec. a wide range of results to c.librate a numeric.l model derived within the projec., （ii） c.arify some of the most c.ntroversial issues about fric.ion dissipators （inc.uding behavior for inputs c.ntaining pulses, c.pac.ty to reduc. resonanc. peaks, introduc.ion of high frequenc.es in the response, and self- generated ec.entric.ties）, （iii） better understand their dynamic.behavior, （iv） provide insight on the feasibility and reliability of using simple fric.ion dissipators for seismic.protec.ion of building struc.ures and （v） c.arac.erize the hysteretic.behavior of these devic.s. Most of these objec.ives are satisfac.orily reac.ed and relevant c.nc.usions are stated.
