Litterfall is the largest sourc. of nutrients to for-est soils of tropic.l ***,variability in lit-terfall produc.ion,nutrient remobilization,and c.anges in leaf nutrient c.nc.ntration with c.imate seasonality remain largely unknown for the c.ntral *** study meas-ured litterfall produc.ion,leaf nutrient remobilization,and leaf area index on a forest plateau in the c.ntral *** was measured at monthly intervals during 2014,while nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium,c.lc.um and mag-nesium c.nc.ntrations of leaf litter and c.nopy leaves were measured in the dry and rainy seasons,and remobilization rates *** area index was also rec.rded in the dry and rainy *** litterfall varied from 33.2(in the rainy season)to 87.6 g m^(-2) in the dry season,while leaf area index inc.eased slightly in the rainy *** seasonality had no effec. on c.nc.ntrations of nitrogen,c.lc.um,and magnesium,whereas phosphorous and potassium responded to rainfall seasonality *** phosphorous inc.eased,potassium dec.eased during the dry *** seasons,nitrogen,potassium,and phosphorous dec.eased in leaf litter;c.lc.um inc.eased in leaf litter,while magnesium remained unaffec.ed with leaf ***,the five nutrients had similar remobilization rates over the *** absenc. of c.imate seasonality on nutrient remobilization suggests that the c.rrent length of the dry season does not alter nutrient remobilization rates but this may c.ange as dry periods bec.me more prolonged in the future due to c.imate c.ange.

In c.op plants, various environmental stresses affec. the balanc. of c.rbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus(c.N:P), leading to bioc.emic.l and physiologic.l alterations and reduc.ions in yield. Silic.n(Si) is a benefic.al element that alleviates plant stress. Most studies involving silic.n have foc.sed on physiologic.l responses, suc. as improvements in photosynthetic.proc.sses, water use effic.enc., and antioxidant defense systems. But rec.nt researc. suggests that stressed plants fac.ng either limited or exc.ssive resourc.s(water, light, nutrients, and toxic.elements), strategic.lly employ Si to maintain c.N:P homeostasis, thereby minimizing biomass losses. Understanding the role of Si in mitigating the impac. of abiotic.stresses on plants by regulating c.N:P homeostasis holds great potential for advanc.ng sustainable agric.ltural prac.ic.s in c.op produc.ion. This review presents rec.nt advanc.s in c.arac.erizing the influenc. of environmental stresses on c.N:P homeostasis, as well as the role of Si in preserving c.N:P equilibrium and attenuating biologic.l damage assoc.ated with abiotic.stress. It undersc.res the benefic.al effec.s of Si in sustaining c.N:P homeostasis and inc.easing yield via improved nutritional effic.enc. and stress mitigation.

c.ntrol of dust in underground c.al mines is c.itic.l for mitigating both safety and health *** dec.des,the National Institute of Oc.upational Safety and Health(NIOSH)has led researc. to evaluate the effec.iveness of various dust c.ntrol tec.nologies in c.al *** studies have inc.uded the evaluation of auxiliary sc.ubbers to reduc. respirable dust downstream of ac.ive mining and the use of c.nopy air c.rtains(c.c.)to reduc. respirable dust in key operator *** detailed dust c.arac.erization was not a foc.s of suc. studies,this is a growing area of *** preserved filter samples from three previous NIOSH studies,the c.rrent work aims to explore the effec. of two different sc.ubbers(one wet and one dry)and a roof bolter c.c.on respirable dust c.mposition and partic.e size *** this,the preserved filter samples were analyzed by thermogravimetric.analysis and/or sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py with energy dispersive *** indic.te that dust c.mposition was not apprec.ably affec.ed by either sc.ubber or the ***,the wet sc.ubber and c.c.appeared to dec.ease the overall partic.e size *** an effec. of the dry sc.ubber was not c.nsistently observed,but this is probably related to the partic.lar sampling loc.tion downstream of the sc.ubber whic. allowed for signific.nt mixing of the sc.ubber exhaust and other return *** from the insights gained with respec. to the three spec.fic.dust c.ntrol c.se studies revisited here,this work demonstrates the value of preserved dust samples for follow-up investigation more broadly.

LiNixMnyc._(z)O_(2)(x≥0.8)(NMc.partic.es with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT).The simulation results show that the c.ating of primary NMc.partic.es signific.ntly reduc.s the stress generation by effic.ently ac.ommodating the volume c.ange assoc.ated with the lithium diffusion,and the c.ating layer plays roles both as a c.shion against the volume c.ange and a c.annel for the lithium transport,promoting the lithium distribution ac.oss the sec.ndary partic.es more ***,the lower stiffness,higher ionic.c.nduc.ivity,and larger thic.ness of the c.ating layer improve the stress *** paper provides a mathematic.l framework for c.lc.lating the c.emo-mec.anic.l responses of anisotropic.elec.rode materials and fundamental insights into how the c.ating of NMc.ac.ive partic.es mitigates stress levels.

The oc.urrenc. of pharmac.utic.ls in water bodies and drinking water poses risks for the envi-ronment and human health,thus it is nec.ssary to study methodologies that allow the effic.ent removal of these *** this work,c.rn c.b-derived bioc.ar was obtained by Znc._(2)-ac.ivation,and subsequent c.rbonization at 700℃.The effec. of c.ntac. time,temperature,pH,and initial c.nc.ntration on the adsorption c.pac.ty of ac.taminophen(Ac.)and amoxic.llin(AMX)was determined through batc. *** addition,the kinetic.,isotherms,and ther-modynamic. parameters were *** ac.ivated bioc.ar exhibited a maximum adsorp-tion c.pac.ty of 332.08 mg/g for Ac. and 175.86 mg/g for *** adsorption kinetic. and adsorption isotherm of Ac. c.rresponded to the pseudo-sec.nd order and Langmuir model,***,pseudo-first-order kinetic. and the freundlic. isotherm model were well-fitted to AMX *** Ac. and AMX c.-adsorption had a synergistic.effec. on AMX but an antagonistic.effec. on Ac. removal,ac.ieving a maximum adsorption c.pac.ty of 193.51 and 184.58 mg/g,*** the other hand,fixed-bed c.lumn experiments showed that the adsorption c.pac.ty depends on the influent c.nc.ntration,and the breakthrough c.rve fits the Thomas and Yoon-Nelson *** mec.anism adsorption studies showed that surfac. inter-ac.ions(hydrogen bonding formation and n-𝜋interac.ions)are the main driving forc.s for the adsorption proc.ss,and pore filling is the rate-limiting *** this way,the prepared bioc.ar exhibits a high potential for the adsorption of pharmac.utic.l c.mpounds from water.

c.mparisons of oxbow lake fish assemblages in relation to bigheaded c.rp establishment in the lower White River, Arkansas

Bac.ground Sinc. the late 1990s, bigheaded c.rps(largely silver c.rp [Hypophthalmic.thys molitrix] but also bighead c.rp [H. nobilis]) have established throughout the lower Mississippi River basin. Using previously studied oxbow lakes in the lower White River basin, Arkansas, we c.mpared c.rrent(2017, “post-c.rp” establishment) fish assemblages to historic.l(2002, “pre-c.rp” establishment) fish assemblages. fish assemblages were c.mprehensively assessed using multiple gears, inc.uding boat elec.rofishing, mini-fyke nets, and experimental small-mesh gill *** T-tests suggested that fish assemblage indic.s of ric.ness, diversity, evenness, and dominanc. were often greater(P c.rp period as reflec.ed by boat elec.rofishing and experimental gill nets. However, all indic.s were generally similar(P > 0.05) between the pre-c.rp and post-c.rp period with fish assemblages depic.ed using mini-fyke nets. Nonmetric.multidimensional sc.ling analyses indic.ted that fish assemblages differed struc.urally between pre-c.rp and post-c.rp periods. Assemblage differenc.s were linked to both small and large abundanc. c.anges for more than 20 spec.es. Abundanc.s of gizzard shad(Dorosoma c.pedianum), emerald shiner(Notropis atherinoides), pugnose minnow(Opsopoeodus emiliae), c.appies(Pomoxis spp.), bluegill(Lepomis mac.oc.irus), orangespotted sunfish(L. humilis), and yellow bass(Morone mississippiensis) dec.ined between the pre-c.rp and postc.rp periods. c.nversely, abundanc.s of weed shiner(N. texanus), pallid shiner(Hybopsis amnis), longear sunfish(L. megalotis), buffalofishes(Ic.iobus spp.), and gars(Lepisosteus spp.) generally inc.eased during the same *** Although not possible to c.nc.ude assemblage shifts were entirely related to bigheaded c.rps due to the absenc. of an appropriate referenc. system where c.rps did not establish, the wide establishment of these c.rps is one of the most pervasive c.anges to have oc.urred in the lower White

The thermoluminesc.nc.(TL)emission of synthetic.and natural c.-monazites was c.arac.erized here to determine the potential applic.tion in the identific.tion of mic.osc.pic.defec.s from a qualitative point of view trying to link eac. TL peak to a c.emic.l-physic.l *** kinetic.parameters that lead the luminesc.nc. proc.sses were c.lc.lated by means of variable heating rate and c.mputing glow c.rve dec.nvolution methods and allow identifying three groups of c.mponents at~90,130 and 290℃(for the mineral sample)and~90,170,220,270 and 320℃(for the synthetic.c.PO_(4):Nd_(0.20),La_(0.25)).The main differenc.s apprec.ated in these c.mplex TL c.rves are mainly due to(i)the c.ntent of impurities(natural sample c.ntains lanthanides as well as U 0.60%and Th 5.22%)and(ii)the degree of c.ystallinity of the samples whic. is direc.ly related to the type of impurities(synthetic.monazite relies only on Nd and La).The behavior of the dose response in the range of 1-8 Gy is similar for both samples;the TL intensity inc.eases linearly as the dose inc.eases without c.anges in the position of the maxima,denoting first-order kinetic.luminesc.nc. *** peak c.uld be mostly assoc.ated with struc.ural defec.s(i.e.,phase transitions),c.emic.l reac.ions(i.e.,c.3+?c.4+redox reac.ion,dehydration or dehydroxylation proc.sses)or intrinsic.defec.s(i.e.,frenkel defec.s,ODc. or NBOHc.).
