Lanthanide luminescent materials with high quantum yield and thermal stability are of key importance for their practical application.Here we report crystal structures and luminescent properties of[Eu(pfbz)_(2)(phen)Cl](1)and[Tb(pfbz)2(phen)Cl](2)(pfbz=Pentafluorobenzoate).Single-crystal analysis reveals that both 1 and 2 crystallize in a polar space group of Cmc21.Investigation on their luminescent properties indicates that the solid-state quantum yields of 1 and 2 are 97.7%and 90.7%,respectively,while their efficiency of the sensitization process is as high as 100%,revealing that polar structures are more favorable to obtain high quantum yields.Thermogravimetric analysis reveals that both 1 and 2 can be stable up to 240℃.More importantly,temperature-dependent luminescent spectra of 1 indicate its luminescent intensity at 612 nm only decreased by 5%from room temperature to 373 K,whereas at 373 K,its luminescent intensity remains almost constant for 36 h.Considering that1 represents the highest quantum yield among known Eu-coordination polymers and its performance as the LED material is better than that of commercially widely used luminescent materials of(Sr,Ca)Al Si N3:Eu(630 nm)and(Sr,Ca)Al Si N3:Eu(640 nm),the present work provides an excellent substitute for commercial LED materials.

Jujube contains abundant cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)and the ultrasonic-assisted pectinase extraction(UAPE)conditions for obtaining the maximum cAMP yield from jujube were optimized.Orthogonal array design was applied to evaluate the effects of 4 variables by UAPE on cAMP yield.The results showed that the optimal cAMP yield(783.0μg/g)was derived at ratio of liquid to solid 5 mL/g,ratio of pectinase to raw material 1.5%,time 60 min and temperature 40℃.Moreover,the effect of cAMP on the anti-allergic function of action induced by immunoglobulin E(IgE)and its meschanism was investigated through establishing the sensitized cell model in rat basophilic leukemia(RBL-2 H3)cells using dinitrophenylated(DNP)-bovine serum albumin(BSA)-IgE.The results showed that cAMP interfered with sensitized cells,effectively inhibited the occurrence of basophil degranulation in dose dependence,and significantly reduced the activity ofβ-hexosamindase(β-hex),at the optimal concentration of 50μg/mL.The level of anti-inflammatory factor interleukin-10(IL-10)was promoted and the content of pro-inflammatory factor tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)was suppressed by cAMP.In addition,influx of intracellular Ca^(2+) was repressed effectively.Our results demonstrate that jujube cAMP regulated the cytokine balance in the allergy pathway through blocking the influx of extracellular Ca^(2+),with the prevention of allergy symptoms.

Mutations of PTEN-induced kinase I(PINK1)cause early-onset Parkinson’s disease(PD)with selective neurodegeneration in humans.However,current PINK1 knockout mouse and pig models are unable to recapitulate the typical neurodegenerative phenotypes observed in PD patients.This suggests that generating PINK1 disease models in non-human primates(NHPs)that are close to humans is essential to investigate the unique function of PINK1 in primate brains.Paired single guide RNA(sgRNA)/Cas9-D10A nickases and truncated sgRNA/Cas9,both of which can reduce off-target effects without compromising on-target editing,are two optimized strategies in the CRISPR/Cas9 system for establishing disease animal models.Here,we combined the two strategies and injected Cas9-D10A mRNA and two truncated sgRNAs into one-cell-stage cynomolgus zygotes to target the PINK1 gene.We achieved precise and efficient gene editing of the target site in three newborn cynomolgus monkeys.The frame shift mutations of PINK1 in mutant fibroblasts led to a reduction in mRNA.However,western blotting and immunofluorescence staining confirmed the PINK1 protein levels were comparable to that in wild-type fibroblasts.We further reprogramed mutant fibroblasts into induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs),which showed similar ability to differentiate into dopamine(DA)neurons.Taken together,our results showed that co-injection of Cas9-D10A nickase mRNA and sgRNA into one-cell-stage cynomolgus embryos enabled the generation of human disease models in NHPs and target editing by pair truncated sgRNA/Cas9-D10A in PINK1 gene exon 2 did not impact protein expression.

Objective To investigate whether Lingbao Huxin Pill(LBHX)protects against acute myocardial infarction(AMI)at the infarct border zone(IBZ)of myocardial tissue by regulating apoptosis and inflammation through the sirtuin 1(SIRT1)-mediated forkhead box protein O1(FOXO1)and nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)signaling pathways.Methods Six-week-old Wistar rats with normal diet were randomized into the sham,the model,Betaloc(0.9 mg/kg daily),LBHX-L(0.45 mg/kg daily),LBHX-M(0.9 mg/kg daily),LBHX-H(1.8 mg/kg daily),and LBHX+EX527(0.9 mg/kg daily)groups according to the method of random number table,13 in each group.In this study,left anterior descending coronary artery(LADCA)ligation was performed to induce an AMI model in rats.The myocardial infarction area was examined using a 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride solution staining assay.A TdT-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL)assay was conducted to assess cardiomyocyte apoptosis in the IBZ.The histopathology of myocardial tissue at the IBZ was assessed with Heidenhain,Masson and hematoxylineosin(HE)staining assays.The expression levels of tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1β,and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISAs).The mRNA expressions of SIRT1 and FOXO1 were detected by real-time qPCR(RT-qPCR).The protein expressions of SIRT1,FOXO1,SOD2,BAX and NF-κB p65 were detected by Western blot analysis.Results The ligation of the LADCA successfully induced an AMI model.The LBHX pretreatment reduced the infarct size in the AMI rats(P<0.01).The TUNEL assay revealed that LBHX inhibited cardiomyocyte apoptosis at the IBZ.Further,the histological examination showed that the LBHX pretreatment decreased the ischemic area of myocardial tissue(P<0.05),myocardial interstitial collagen deposition(P<0.05)and inflammation at the IBZ.The ELISA results indicated that LBHX decreased the serum levels of inflammatory cytokines in the AMI rats(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Furthermore,Western blot analysis revealed that the LBHX pretreatmen

The brown planthopper(BPH),Nilaparvata lugens,an important rice insect pest,can enhance its virulence to BPH-resistant rice within as short a span as several generations.Here,we cloned a pancreatic triglyceride lipase(PTL)gene(NlPTL)in N.lugens,and found that its mRNA level was higher in the high virulence population(fed on variety Rathu Heenati,P-RH)than in the low virulence population(fed on variety Taichung Native 1,P-TN1).Knocking down NlPTL caused BPH individuals to spend more time in non-penetration and the pathway phases and less time feeding on the phloem of rice plants;these changes consequently decreased food intake,lipid content,survival rate,and fecundity in the insects.These findings reveal for the first time that PTL in BPH is involved in its virulence to rice plants.

BACKGROUND： For many years, yeast cell walls （YCW） and mannan oligosaccharides （MOS） have been used as alternatives to antibiotics and health feed additives to enhance the growth performance and health of food animals. In the present study, the inhibitory effects of YCW and MOS on the adhesion of enteropathogenic bacteria to intestinal epithelial cells were tested. METHODS： YCW and MOS were extracted from Saccharomyces cerevisiae （XM 0315）, and the morphology of YCW and MOS bound to pathogenic bacteria was observed by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. Real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR was used to quantitatively analyze the effects of YCW and MOS on the adhesion of Escherichia coli （CVCC3367） and Salmonella pullorum （CVCC520） to Caco-2 cells. RESULTS： The results showed that YCW inhibited E. coli and S. pullorum binding to Caco-2 cells by 95% and 74%, respectively, whereas MOS prevented E. coli and S. pullorum binding by 67% and 50%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS： These data suggest that YCW has a stronger ability than MOS to inhibit pathogenic bacteria from adhering to Caco-2 cells in vitro.

Microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of a new Al-Cu-Li-X alloy at different solution temperatures

The micros tructural evolution and mechanical properties of a new Al-3.8 Cu-1.2 Li-0.4 Mg-0.4 Zn-0.4 Ag-0.3 Mn-X alloy treated at different solution temperatures were investigated.The grain size was measured in optical micrograph(OM).The residual particles and the major precipitates were identified by electron probe microanalysis(EPMA),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscope(TEM),respectively.The results show that the peak strength appears at 530℃/1 h+T6(165℃/20 h) and the values are 566.2 MPa(tensile strength) and 538.2 MPa(yield strength) with the elongation of 6.5 %.The strength of the alloy increases rapidly with the amount of the precipitates T1 and θ’ increasing when the solution temperature is530℃.The increase in density of precipitates is resulted from the residual particles Al2 Cu,and particles enriched with Cu,Mg,Zr and Ag dissolve into matrix gradually with the solution temperature increasing.Finally,the number of precipitates decreases and part of the grain boundary weakens with a further increase in solution temperature from 540 to 550℃,leading to a decline of strength.

Multistate magnetic memory effect in heterostructures composed of FeRh thin films with antiferromagnetic(AFM)-ferromagnetic(FM)phase transition and(001)-oriented PMN-PT substrates has been investigated.Utilizing a unipolar electric field,the nonvolatile change in magnetization was nearly doubled compared with that obtained utilizing a conventional bipolar bias.Four stable nonvolatile magnetic states were obtained over a broad temperature span,from 320 to 390K,by adjusting the amplitude of the unipolar electric pulses,demonstrating the possibility of realizing a multistate nonvolatile magnetic memory in the FeRh/PMN-PT heterostructures.This work provides a new strategy for enhancing the magnetic response by utilizing unipolar electric fields and promotes the utilization of AFM-FM phase transition materials in multifunctional information storage and novel spintronic devices.

Background： Recent advances in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation （ECMO） have led to increasing interest in its use during cardiopuhnonary resuscitation （CPR）. However, decisions regarding extracorporeal CPR （ECPR） in children are difficult as a result of limited studies, especially in Asia Pacific. The objective of this study was to investigate trends in survival and demographic details for children with ECPR in Asia Pacific recorded in the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization （ELSO） registry from 1999 to 2016 and identify the risk factors associated with in-hospital mortality. Methods： The data of children younger than 18 years of age who received ECPR over the past 18 years in Asia Pacific were retrospectively analyzed. The data were extracted from the ELSO registry and divided into two 9-year groups （Group 1 1999-2007 and Group 2： 2008-2016） to assess temporal changes using univariate analysis. Then, univariate and multiple logistic regression analyses were performed between survivors and nonsurvivors to identify factors independently associated with in-hospital mortality. Results： A total of 321 children were included in final analysis, with an overall survival rate of 50.8%. Although survival rates were similar between Group 1 and Group 2 （43.1% vs. 52.5%,χ^2= 1.67, P - 0.196）, the median age （1.7 [0.3, 19.2] months for Group 1 vs. 5.6 [0.8, 64.9] months for Group 2, t = 2.93, P = 0.003） and weight （3.7 [3.0, 11.5] kg for Group 1 vs. 6.0 [3.4, 20.3] kg for Group 2, t = -3.14, P 0.002） of children increased over time, while the proportion of congenital heart disease （75.9% for Group 1 vs. 57.8% for Group 2, χ^2=6.52, P 0.011 ） and cardiogenic shock （36.2% for Group 1 vs. 7.2% for Group 2, χ^2=36.59, P 〈 0.001 ） decreased. Patient conditions before ECMO were worse, while ECMO complications decreased across time periods, especially renal complications.
