in recent years,pediatric health care has embraced the concept of quality improvement to improve patient *** quality improvement efforts are implemented,network collaboration(where multiple centers and practices implement standardized programs)is a popular *** a collaborative network,improvement in the conduct of structural,process and outcome quality measures can lead to improvements in overall health,and benchmarks can be used to assess and compare *** this review article,we provided an overview of the quality improvement movement and the role of quality indicators in this *** reviewed current quality improvement efforts in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (iBD),as well as other pediatric chronic *** discussed the need to standardize the development of quality indicators used in quality improvement networks to assess medical care,and the validation techniques which can be used to ensure that process indicators result in improved outcomes of clinical *** aimed to assess current quality improvement efforts in pediatric iBD and other diseases,such as childhood asthma,childhood arthritis,and neonatal *** doing so,we hope to learn from their successes and failures and to move the field forward for future improvements in the care provided to children with iBD.

it is exciting that the gravitational wave has been confirmed, according to the announcement of LiGO. Perhaps, this is the time for physicists to fix the Einstein equation for the gravitational wave and the nonexistence of the dynamic solution. These two problems are inextricably related. As a first step, theorists should improve their pure mathematics beyond Einstein on non-linear mathematics and related physical considerations. Then, theoretically we must first show that the gravitational waves necessarily exist that Einstein was not certain. We find that the existence of gravitational waves is due to that the photons must have a gravitational wave component. Next, we must rectify the Einstein equation that has no gravitational wave solution which Einstein has recognized, and no dynamic solution that Einstein failed to see. However, it is very questionable that the measured gravitational waves are due to the black holes that can be definitely valid due to the long distance of the sources. moreover, since the repulsive gravitation can also generate a gravitational wave, the problem of gravitational wave is actually far more complicated than we have known. A useful feature of the gravitational wave based on repulsive gravitation is that it can be easily generated on earth. Thus this can be a useful tool for communication because it can penetrate any medium.

The Kci：Eu2＋ system response to UV-c was investigated by analyzing the optically stimulated luminescence （OSL） and ther- mo-luminescence （TL） signal produced by ultraviolet light exposure at room temperature. it was found that after UV-c ***, OSL was produced on a wide band of visible wavelengths with decay time that varied by several orders of magnitude depending on the Eu2＋ aggregation state. in spite of the low intensity of solar UV-c reaching the Earth＇s surface in madrid （40° N, 700 m a.s.1.）, it was possible to measure the UV-c radiation dose at 6：48 solar time by using the TL response of the Kci：Eu2＋ system and differentiate it from the ambient beta radiation dose.

The stress-strain properties vary according to the specific pathology(***,aneurism)and the tissue graft must be chosen *** models are proposed in this paper on the stress-strain *** extension for frequency-domain analysis is provided for one of the *** comparison between vascular grafts and native tissue for carotid and thoracic arteries in pigs are in good agreement with results from *** proposed experimental method offers suitable parameters for identifying models which characterize both elasticity and stiffness properties of the analyzed tissues(stress-strain).The proposed models show good performance in characterizing the intrinsic material properties.

Undoped nickel-based catalysts supported on depleted uranium oxide allow one to carry out cO_(2)methanation process under extremely low reaction temperature under atmospheric pressure and powered by a contactless induction *** adjusting the reaction conditions,the catalyst is able to perform cO_(2)methanation reaction under autothermal process operated inside a non-adiabatic reactor,without any external energy *** autothermal process is possible thanks to the high apparent density of the UO_x which allows one to confine the reaction heat in a small catalyst volume in order to confine the exothermicity of the reaction inside the catalyst and to operate the reaction at equilibrium heat in-heat *** autothermal operation mode allows one to significantly reduce the complexity of the process compared to that operated using adiabatic reactor,where complete insulation is required to prevent heat disequilibrium,in order to reduce as much as possible,the heat exchange with the external *** catalyst displays an extremely high stability as a function of time on stream as no apparent *** is expected that such new catalyst with unprecedented catalytic performance could open new era in the field of heterogeneous catalysis where traditional supports show their limitations to operate catalytic processes under severe reaction conditions.

Background: Harvesting of forest products is a widespread driver of disturbance in developing nations, where policies are increasingly aimed at managing natural forests for sustainable use. There is thus need for research aimed at understanding the impact of resource use on forest habitats and concomitant effects on *** forests in the Eastern cape, South Africa are harvested informally for poles and medicinal bark and occur along elevational gradients of 800–1600 m above sea level. Patterns of spatial diversity and human disturbance are expected to be affected by elevation. Furthermore, species’ responses to disturbance are expected to vary depending on their level of habitat specialisation. Understanding harvest impacts on forest biodiversity thus requires disentangling the separate effects of elevation and disturbance, and considering forest-specialist and forest-generalist species separately. This study comprises two components. First, harvest activities, resultant harvestmediated habitat heterogeneity, and avifaunal species richness, composition and beta-diversity were compared across two elevational zones in a harvested forest. Second, the role of harvest-mediated habitat heterogeneity in driving patterns of avifaunal diversity were assessed, while controlling for elevation, and considering forest-specialist and forest-generalist species ***: Harvest rates were higher, and activities more varied in the lower elevation zone, with significant impacts of harvesting on habitat features resulting in higher harvest-mediated habitat heterogeneity at lower ***-mediated increases in habitat heterogeneity positively affected forest-generalist species richness, while forest-specialist richness was negatively affected. While species composition of both groups differed across elevational zones, variation in harvest-mediated habitat heterogeneity did not fully account for this, suggesting that factors other than disturbance

Organic farming aims to stimulate soil fertility by avoiding the use of synthetic fertiliser inputs, relying instead on locally available natural resources. it is regarded by many as a sustainable alternative to conventional fanning because it ensures higher biodiversity, restricts environmental pollution, prevents land degradation and is easy to apply for smallholder and subsistence farmers. Although widely practiced and studied in temperate regions, little is known about the potential overall benefits of organic farming in the tropics and subtropics. This paper addresses this gap by undertaking an analysis of the differences between organic and conventional agriculture in the tropics and sub-tropics based on an extensive literature review including 88 papers with 458 data pairs. The comparison is based on three main indicators： yield, gross margin and soil organic carbon （SOc）. The differences between the organic and conventional systems for each of these main indicators is represented by the ratio of the value of the indicator in the organic system divided by the corresponding value in the conventional system. This was initially calculated for each data pair individually, and grouped by a variety of explanatory factors, such as precipitation, human development level, soil texture, crop type, organic input type, time after conversion and certification. The results demonstrate that under organic management, yields were on average 26% higher, gross margins 51% higher and soil organic carbon 53% higher than under conventional management. The highest yield increases in organic cropping systems were achieved in the least developed countries, in arid regions and on coarse soils. For gross margins, certification was the main reason for differences between organic and conventional systems. certified farmers, mostly located in developed countries, receive significantly higher prices.
