Construction of multifunctional lanthanum manganese mixed nanoparticles mediated by ionic liquids for selective aerobic oxidation of cyclohexane

Selective oxidation of alkanes to produce highvalue chemicals is an essential strategy and means to realize efficient utilization of resources.In this work,a strategy of lanthanum manganese mixed metal oxides(LMMO) regulated via a facile ionic liquid (IL)-assisted hydrothermal method was proposed to construct the multifunctional catalysts,which exhibited excellent catalytic performance in the selective aerobic oxidation of cyclohexane.An 8.9%cyclohexane conversion with 90%KA oi(cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone) selectivity was achieved over the optimal LMMO catalyst under mild conditions.The effects of anion type,carbon chain length and concentration of ILs on the structure and properties of catalysts were investigated through various characterizations,indicating the structure-directing and template effect of ILs on the multifunctional catalysts.The formation of self-assembled spherical nanoparticles followed the‘‘dissolution-nucleation-proliferation’’mechanism with the introduction of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate,ascribing the synergistic effect between the microenvironment of ILs and the hydrothermal environment.Importantly,the high reactive oxygen concentration redox capacity,and suitable basic sites of LMMO catalysts mediated by ILs enhance the activation of C-H bonds and molecular oxygen,simultaneously influencing the adsorption and desorption of the substrate.A comprehensive understanding of the high KA oil selectivity and radical reaction mechanism was elucidated based on in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS) and radical trapping experiments.The recycling and regeneration experiments further illuminated that the removal of adsorbed cyclohexanone acting on the LMMO catalyst was the key to achieve high KA oil selectivity.

Uncovering the coupling effect with energy-related carbon emissions and human development variety in Chinese provinces

Lessening energy-related carbon emissions has become a crucial measure to achieve Chinese carbon neutrality.This study is the first to construct a Difference in Carbon pressures-adjusted Human Development Index(DCHDI)model for the purpose of exploring the coupling effect between carbon emissions and human development variety from 2000 to 2019 in Chinese provinces.We demonstrate the following.(1)The total energy-related carbon footprint of 30 provinces in China reached 10.2 billion tons in 2019,with an average annual growth rate of 6.93% over the past two decades;and the provinces with the highest carbon emissions per capita are InnerMongolia,Ningxia,and Shanxi.(2)At the provincial level,we observed that the Human Development Index(HDI),which includes life expectancy,education,and income,has been rising,while Beijing,Shanghai,and Tianjin entered the super-high HDI level before 2008.(3)The entire coupling effect of 30 Chinese provinces has been broadly fortified in the last 20 years,but the growth rate of DCHDI values in 2011-2019 has slowed down compared with that in 2000-2010;the clustering phenomenon demonstrated that this discovery is associated with historical peaks in total carbon emissions.(4)The co-ordination degree of carbon emissions per capita and HDI was verified,and 96% of the data points were found in the range of super high coupling coordination degree.Overall,this study provides the government with worthwhile guidance for decision-making and carbon reduction strategies for other countries struggling to advance human sustainable development.

The Space Advanced Technology demonstration satellite(SATech-01),a mission for low-cost space science and new technology experiments,organized by Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),was successfully launched into a Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of~500 km on July 27,2022,from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre.Serving as an experimental platform for space science exploration and the demonstration of advanced common technologies in orbit,SATech-01 is equipped with 16 experimental payloads,including the solar upper transition region imager(SUTRI),the lobster eye imager for astronomy(LEIA),the high energy burst searcher(HEBS),and a High Precision Magnetic Field Measurement System based on a CPT Magnetometer(CPT).It also incorporates an imager with freeform optics,an integrated thermal imaging sensor,and a multi-functional integrated imager,etc.This paper provides an overview of SATech-01,including a technical description of the satellite and its scientific payloads,along with their on-orbit performance.

The reaction mechanism and interfacial crystallization of Al nanoparticle-embedded Ni under shock loading

The shock-induced reaction mechanism and characteristics of Ni/Al system,considering an Al nanoparticle-embedded Ni single crystal,are investigated through molecular dynamics simulation.For the shock melting of Al nanoparticle,interfacial crystallization and dissolution are the main characteristics.The reaction degree of Al particle first increases linearly and then logarithmically with time driven by rapid mechanical mixing and following dissolution.The reaction rate increases with the decrease of particle diameter,however,the reaction is seriously hindered by interfacial crystallization when the diameter is lower than 9 nm in our simulations.Meanwhile,we found a negative exponential growth in the fraction of crystallized Al atoms,and the crystallinity of B2-NiAl(up to 20%)is positively correlated with the specific surface area of Al particle.This can be attributed to the formation mechanism of B2-NiAl by structural evolution of finite mixing layer near the collapsed interface.For shock melting of both Al particle and Ni matrix,the liquid-liquid phase inter-diffusion is the main reaction mechanism that can be enhanced by the formation of internal jet.In addition,the enhanced diffusion is manifested in the logarithmic growth law of mean square displacement,which results in an almost constant reaction rate similar to the mechanical mixing process.

Impacts of multi-foulings on salinity gradient energy conversion process in negatively charged conical nanochannels

Membrane fouling inevitably occurs during nanofluidic reverse electrodialysis. Herein, the impact of multi-fouling on the energy conversion performance of negatively charged conical nanochannels under asymmetrical configurations is systematically investigated. The results reveal that in Configuration I, where a high-concentration solution is applied at the tip side, at small concentration ratios, multiple foulings reduce the electric power. In Configuration II, where a low-concentration solution is applied at the tip side, multiple foulings near the base side contribute to the electric power. Any fouling that formed near the lowconcentration entrance diminished the electric power and energy conversion efficiency. Multi-fouling lowered the electrical power consumption by 69.27% and 99.94% in Configurations I and II, respectively. In Configuration I, the electric power first increased with increasing fouling surface charge density, reached its maximum value, and thereafter decreased. In Configuration II, the electric power first decreased with increasing fouling surface charge density, reached its minimum value, and thereafter increased. Large negative or positive charge densities of fouling contribute to the electric power and energy conversion efficiency.

Transient Monte Carlo simulation of phonon transport in silicon nanofilms with the local heat source

Accurate prediction of junction temperature is crucial for the efficient thermal design of silicon nano-devices. In nano-scale semiconductor devices, significant ballistic effects occur due to the mean free path of phonons comparable to the heat source size and device scale. We employ a three-dimensional non-gray Monte Carlo simulation to investigate the transient heat conduction of silicon nanofilms with both single and multiple heat sources. The accuracy of the present method is first verified in the ballistic and diffusion limits. When a single local heat source is present, the width of the heat source has a significant impact on heat conduction in the domain. Notably, there is a substantial temperature jump at the boundary when the heat source width is 10 nm.With increasing heat source width, the boundary temperature jump weakens. Furthermore, we observe that the temperature excitation rate is independent of the heat source width, while the temperature influence range expands simultaneously with the increase in heat source width. Around 500 ps, the temperature and heat flux distribution in the domain stabilize. In the case of dual heat sources, the hot zone is broader than that of a single heat source, and the temperature of the hot spot decreases as the heat source spacing increases. However, the mean heat flux remains unaffected. Upon reaching a spacing of 200 nm between the heat sources, the peak temperature in the domain remains unchanged once a steady state is reached. These findings hold significant implications for the thermal design of silicon nano-devices with local heat sources.

Evaluation and Projection of Population Exposure to Temperature Extremes over the Beijing−Tianjin−Hebei Region Using a High-Resolution Regional Climate Model RegCM4 Ensemble

Temperature extremes over rapidly urbanizing regions with high population densities have been scrutinized due to their severe impacts on human safety and economics.First of all,the performance of the regional climate model RegCM4 with a hydrostatic or non-hydrostatic dynamic core in simulating seasonal temperature and temperature extremes was evaluated over the historical period of 1991–99 at a 12-km spatial resolution over China and a 3-km resolution over the Beijing−Tianjin−Hebei(JJJ)region,a typical urban agglomeration of China.Simulations of spatial distributions of temperature extremes over the JJJ region using RegCM4 with hydrostatic and non-hydrostatic cores showed high spatial correlations of more than 0.8 with the observations.Under a warming climate,temperature extremes of annual maximum daily temperature(TXx)and summer days(SU)in China and the JJJ region showed obvious increases by the end of the 21st century while there was a general reduction in frost days(FD).The ensemble of RegCM4 with different land surface components was used to examine population exposure to temperature extremes over the JJJ region.Population exposure to temperature extremes was found to decrease in 2091−99 relative to 1991−99 over the majority of the JJJ region due to the joint impacts of increases in temperature extremes over the JJJ and population decreases over the JJJ region,except for downtown areas.Furthermore,changes in population exposure to temperature extremes were mainly dominated by future population changes.Finally,we quantified changes in exposure to temperature extremes with temperature increase over the JJJ region.This study helps to provide relevant policies to respond future climate risks over the JJJ region.

Procyanidin A_1 and its digestive products alleviate acrylamide-induced IPEC-J2 cell damage through regulating Keap1/Nrf2 pathway

Our previous study has revealed that procyanidin A_(1)(A_(1))and its simulated digestive product(D-A,)can alleviate acrylamide(ACR)-induced intestine cell damage.However,the underlying mechanism remains unknown.In this study,we elucidated the molecular mechanism for and D-A_(1) to alleviate ACR-stimulated IPEC-J2 cell damage.ACR slightly activated nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)signaling and its target genes,but this activation could not reduce intestine cell damage.A_(1) and D-A_(1) could alleviate ACR-induced cell damage,but the effect was abrogated in cells transiently transfected with Nrf2 small interfering RNA(siRNA).Further investigation confirmed that A_(1) and D-A_(1) interacted with Ketch-like ECH-associated protein 1(Keapl),which boosted the stabilization of Nrf2,subsequently promoted the translocation of Nrf2 into the nucleus,and further increased the expression of antioxidant proteins,thereby inhibiting glutathione(GSH)consumption,maintaining redox balance and eventually alleviating ACR-induced cell damage.Importantly,there was no difference between A_(1) and D-A_(1) treated groups,indicating that A_(1) can tolerate gastrointestinal digestion and may be a potential compound to limit the toxicity of ACR.

Structural characterization of three acidic polysaccharides from Opuntia dillenii Haw.fruits and their protective effect against hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress in Huh-7 cells

Three novel acidic polysaccharide fractions(OFPP-1,OFPP-2,OFPP-3)with different m olecular weights(803.7,555.1 and 414.5 k Da)were isolated from the peeled Opuntia dillenii Haw.fruits by alkali-extraction,graded alcohol precipitation and column chromatography.Structural analysis indicated that OFPPs were pectic polysaccharides consisting of rhamnose,arabinose and galactose residues.The backbone of OFPP-1 consisted of a repeating unit→6-α-D-Galp A-(1→2)-α-L-Rhap-(1→with T-α-D-Galp A-(1→6)-α-D-Galp A-(1→4)-α-D-Glcp-(1→,T-β-D-Xylp-(1→6)-α-D-Galp A-(1→4)-α-D-Glcp-(1→or T-α-D-Galp A-(1→3)-α-L-Araf-(1→as the side chains.The backbone of OFPP-2 consisted of a disaccharide repeating unit→2)-α-L-Rhap-(1→4)-β-D-Galp A-(1→with T-β-L-Araf-(1→as the branches substituted at the O-4 position of→2,4)-α-LRhap-(1→.Whereas the backbone of OFPP-3 was→2,4)-α-L-Rhap-(1→2)-α-L-Rhap-(1→3)-β-L-Araf-(1→or→2,4)-α-L-Rhap-(1→2)-α-L-Rhap-(1→4)-β-D-Galp A-(1→,which was branched at the O-4 position of→2,4)-α-L-Rhap-(1→.Moreover,these three polysaccharide fractions could protect Huh-7 cells against H2O2-induced oxidative stress to different extents by decreasing the MDA content and increasing the SOD,CAT,GSH-Px activities and the GSH level in the Huh-7 cells.These results suggest that OFPPs have the potential to be used as natural antioxidants.

Deep neural network-enabled battery open-circuit voltage estimation based on partial charging data

Battery management systems(BMSs) play a vital role in ensuring efficient and reliable operations of lithium-ion batteries.The main function of the BMSs is to estimate battery states and diagnose battery health using battery open-circuit voltage(OCV).However,acquiring the complete OCV data online can be a challenging endeavor due to the time-consuming measurement process or the need for specific operating conditions required by OCV estimation models.In addressing these concerns,this study introduces a deep neural network-combined framework for accurate and robust OCV estimation,utilizing partial daily charging data.We incorporate a generative deep learning model to extract aging-related features from data and generate high-fidelity OCV curves.Correlation analysis is employed to identify the optimal partial charging data,optimizing the OCV estimation precision while preserving exceptional flexibility.The validation results,using data from nickel-cobalt-magnesium(NCM) batteries,illustrate the accurate estimation of the complete OCV-capacity curve,with an average root mean square errors(RMSE) of less than 3 mAh.Achieving this level of precision for OCV estimation requires only around 50 s collection of partial charging data.Further validations on diverse battery types operating under various conditions confirm the effectiveness of our proposed method.Additional cases of precise health diagnosis based on OCV highlight the significance of conducting online OCV estimation.Our method provides a flexible approach to achieve complete OCV estimation and holds promise for generalization to other tasks in BMSs.
