Physiology and defense responses of wheat to the infestation of different cereal aphids

Cereal aphids are major insect pests of wheat,which cause significant damages to wheat *** studies mainly focused on the resista nee of differe nt wheat varieties to one specific aphid ***,reports on the physiology and defense responses of wheat to different cereal aphids are basically *** this work,we studied the feeding behavior of three cereal aphids:the grain aphid,Sitobion avenae(Fabricius),the greenbugs,Schizaphis graminum(Ron dani),and the bird cherry-oat aphid,Rhopalosiphum padi(Linn aeus)on win ter wheat,and the physiology and defense responses of wheat to the infestation of these cereal aphids with focus on how these cereal aphids utilize divergent strategies to optimize their nutrition requirement from wheat *** results indicated that *** and *** were better adapted to penetrating phloem tissue and to collect more nutrition than *** harm on wheat physiology committed by *** and *** was severer than that by ***,through reducing chlorophyll concentration and interfering metabolism ***,cereal aphids manipulated the plant nutrition metabolism by increasing the relative concentration of major amino acids and percentage of essential amino *** addition,different cereal aphids triggered specific defense response in *** of these results suggested that different cereal aphids utilize diverge nt strategies to cha nge the physiological and defe nse resp on ses of their host plants in order to optimize their nutriti on absorption and requireme *** fin dings not only exte nd our current knowledge on the insect-pla nt in teractions but also provide useful clues to develop no vel biotech no logical strategies for enhancing the resistance and toleranee of crop plants against phloem-feeding insects.

Biogenic emission as a potential source of atmospheric aromatic hydrocarbons:Insights from a cyanobacterial bloom-occurring eutrophic lake

As important precursors of ozone(O_(3))and secondary organic aerosol(SOA),reactive aromatic hydrocarbons(AHs)have typically been classified as anthropogenic air ***,biogenic emission can also be a potential source of atmospheric ***,field observations in a eutrophic lake were combined with laboratory incubation experiments to investigate the biogenic AH *** work showed that the water-air fluxes of AHs measured at sites with high cyanobacteria abundance could reach an order of magnitude greater than those at sites with low cyanobacteria abundance,suggesting that cyanobacteria could be the important contributor to measured *** incubation experiments further confirmed the AH emission of cyanobacteria and revealed that the emission could change significantly over the lifespan of cyanobacteria and varied to their growing *** combining field observations and laboratory incubation experiments,it has been suggested that the emission of different AH species from cyanobacteria could be modulated by variable biogeochemical mechanisms and that the biochemical process of toluene could be different from that of other *** study investigates AH emissions from inland aquatic ecosystem and suggests that biogenic emission could be a potential source of atmospheric AHs.

Time Series Analysis on the Ratio for Pixels with Abnormal Brightness Temperature Increase and Its Variation Before Some Earthquakes with M_S≥5.0 in the Taiwan Region

In the study of the application of MODIS satellite remote sensing data to earthquake prediction, the paper puts forward for the first time a quantitative method to estimate the ratio for the pixels with abnormal brightness temperature (BT) increase and a preliminary scheme for cloud removal. The principle is that, firstly, the cloudless data observed by the same satellite at the same period of time but in different days (usually 1 day to 3 days) are mosaiced to get high ratio of clear sky, and then the BT variation curve and mean square difference (MSD) of each pixel are calculated with the data from the covered area to determine daily whether the BT data of the day is normal or not at a certain pixel by using double the MSD as the criterion. The ratio for the pixels with abnormal BT increase can be calculated by dividing the total number of abnormal pixels with the total pixels of the whole area. Analysis on a series of recent earthquakes in the Taiwan Region shows that the ratio for pixels with abnormal BT increase, which normally undulates around zero, has a sudden enhancement 1 day to 20 days before medium-strong earthquakes. It is expected that a new method for identifying earthquake auspice could be found through special studies in regions with frequent seismic activity by analyzing the change of the ratio for the pixels with abnormal BT increase from MODIS satellite remote sensing infrared (IR) information from which the effect of clouds has been removed to a certain extent.

N^(6)-methyladenosine on the natural antisense transcript of NIA1 stabilizes its mRNA to boost NO biosynthesis and modulate stomatal movement

New Insights on Gamma-Ray Burst Radiation Mechanisms from Multiwavelength Observations

The study of high-energy gamma-ray emission from gamma-ray bursts(GRBs) involves complex synchrotron radiation and synchrotron self-Compton(SSC) scattering mechanisms with multiple parameters exhibiting a wide distribution. Recent advancements in GRB research, particularly the observation of very high energy(VHE,>100 Ge V) radiation, have ushered in a new era of multiwavelength exploration, offering fresh perspectives and limitations for understanding GRB radiation mechanisms. This study aimed to leverage VHE observations to refine constraints on synchrotron + SSC radiation from electrons accelerated by forward shocks. By analyzing two external environments—the uniform interstellar medium and stratified stellar wind medium, we conducted spectral and variability fitting for five specific bursts(GRB 180720B, GRB 190114C, GRB 190829A, GRB 201216C, and GRB 221009A) to identify the optimal parameters characterizing these events. A comparative analysis of model parameter distributions with and without VHE radiation observations reveals that the magnetic energy equipartition factor εBis more concentrated with VHE emissions. This suggests that VHE emissions may offer greater constraints on this microphysical parameter. Additionally, we found that the energy budget between VHE and ke V–Me V γ-ray emissions under the SSC radiation exhibits an almost linear relationship, which may serve as a tool to differentiate radiation mechanisms. We anticipate future statistical analyses of additional VHE bursts to validate our findings.

CAF-derived exosome-miR-3124-5p promotes malignant biological processes in NSCLC via the TOLLIP/TLR4-MyD88-NF-κB pathway

By combining experimental α-decay energies and half-lives, the α-particle preformation factor for nuclei around neutron magic numbers N of 126, 152, and 162 were extracted using the two-potential approach. The nuclei around the shell closure were more tightly bound than adjacent nuclei. Additionally, based on the WS4 mass model (Wang et al., Phys. Lett.B 734, 215 (2014)), we extended the two-potential approach to predict the α-decay half-lives of nuclei around N values of178 and 184 with Z of 119 and 120. We believe that our findings will serve as guidelines for future experimental studies.

Mechanism of AsperosaponinⅥRelated to EGFR/MMP9/AKT/PI3K Pathway in Treatment of Rheumtoid Arthritis

Evolution and generation mechanism of retained oil in lacustrine shales: A combined ReaxFF-MD and pyrolysis simulation perspective

To accurately investigate the evolution characteristics and generation mechanism of retained oil, the study analyzed organic-rich lacustrine shale samples from the Paleogene Kongdian Formation in Cangdong Sag, Bohai Bay Basin. This analysis involves Rock-Eval pyrolysis, pyrolysis simulation experiments,Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer（GC-MS）, and reactive molecular dynamics simulations（Reax FF）. The results revealed the retained oil primarily consisted of n-alkanes with carbon numbers ranging from C14to C36. The generation of retained oil occurred through three stages. A slow growth stage of production rate was observed before reaching the peak of oil production in Stage I. Stage II involved a rapid increase in oil retention, with C12-C17and C24-C32serving as the primary components,increasing continuously during the pyrolysis process. The generation process involved the cleavage of weak bonds, including bridging bonds（hydroxyl, oxy, peroxy, imino, amino, and nitro）, ether bonds, and acid amides in the first stage（Ro= 0.50%-0.75%）. The carbon chains in aromatic ring structures with heteroatomic functional groups breaks in the second stage（Ro= 0.75%-1.20%）. In the third stage（Ro= 1.20%-2.50%）, the ring structures underwent ring-opening reactions to synthesize iso-short-chain olefins and radicals, while further breakdown of aliphatic chains occurred. By coupling pyrolysis simulation experiments and molecular simulation technology, the evolution characteristics and bond breaking mechanism of retained oil in three stages were revealed, providing a reference for the formation and evolution mechanism of retained oil.
