Community is directly responsible for implementing the policy measures against public emergencies such as extreme weather, earthquake, flash flood and pandemic diseases. Summarizing the experience at the urban community level can help promote the global emergency management.This paper, from the perspective of COVID-19 prevention and control, selects three communities with different features to explore an effective response system for public emergency management at the urban community level. It demonstrates that based on a centralized leadership, the multilevel governance(MLG) network combined with information technology has mobilized their participation in combating COVID-19 and ensured the effective and timely response to the public emergencies, which blocked the spread of epidemic to the greatest extent, proving worthy of being promoted as one of the Chinese approaches and Chinese wisdom.

Pharmacodynamics material basis and effective mechanisms are the two main issues to decipher the mechnisms of action of Traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs)for the treatment of diseases.TCMs,in“multi-component,multi-target,multi-pathway”paradigm,show satisfactory clinical results in complex diseases.New ideas and methods are urgently needed to explain the complex interactions between TCMs and diseases.Network pharmacology(NP)provides a novel paradigm to uncover and visualize the underlying interaction networks of TCMs against multifactorial diseases.The development and application of NP has promoted the safety,efficacy,and mechanism investigations of TCMs,which then reinforces the credibility and popularity of TCMs.The current organcentricity of medicine and the“one disease-one target-one drug”dogma obstruct the understanding of complex diseases and the development of effective drugs.Therefore,more attentions should be paid to shift from“phenotype and symptom”to“endotype and cause”in understanding and redefining current diseases.In the past two decades,with the advent of advanced and intelligent technologies(such as metabolomics,proteomics,transcriptomics,single-cell omics,and artificial intelligence),NP has been improved and deeply implemented,and presented its great value and potential as the next drug-discovery paradigm.NP is developed to cure causal mechanisms instead of treating symptoms.This review briefly summarizes the recent research progress on NP application in TCMs for efficacy research,mechanism elucidation,target prediction,safety evaluation,drug repurposing,and drug design.

Atmospheric escape is an essential process that affects the evolution of the proto-atmosphere.The atmospheric escape of early terrestrial planets was extremely rapid compared with the current scenarios,and the main atmospheric escape modes were also quite different.During the dissipation of the nebula disk,the primordial atmosphere experienced a brief but violent"boiling"escape,in which most of the primordial atmosphere was lost.After the nebula disk dissipates,hydrodynamic escape and impact erosion are the two most important mass-loss mechanisms for the proto-atmosphere.Hydrodynamic escape is a rapid atmospheric escape process caused by strong solar radiation,while impact erosion refers to the process in which small-large or giant impacts erode the proto-atmosphere.In the early solar system,there were other escape mechanisms,such as non-thermodynamic escape and Jeans escape,but it is generally believed that these mechanisms have relatively little impact.Here we systematically introduce the above-mentioned atmospheric escape mechanisms and then make some suggestions for the existing problems and future research for atmospheric escape models.

Mantle peridotite xenoliths in Jiaohe City,located near the northern part of the Tan-Lu fault,are key evidence for constraining the nature and evolution of the subcontinental lithospheric mantle(SCLM)of the NE China.Geochemical characteristics of Jiaohe peridotite xenoliths have been well studied,whereas the microstructures and associated fabrics remain poorly known.We report here major element composition of the constituent minerals,P-T conditions,microstructure,lattice preferred orientations(LPOs)of a set of xenoliths having coarse-grained and granuloblastic to porphyroclastic textures.These xenoliths are characterized by forsterite content of 89-91 in olivine.Dislocation microstructures,in olivine crystals revealed by oxidation decoration technique,are characterized by free dislocation,dislocation walls,dislocation loops and subgrains.Microstructures and deformation mechanism maps indicate that dislocation creep is the dominant deformation mechanism of almost anhydrous olivine in the SCLM.In most samples,the observed LPOs of olivine are typical A-type fabric.Stresses measured in the xenoliths using several olivine piezometers are~2.7-8.5 MPa.The equilibration temperature conditions,calculated using several geo-thermometers,indicate the equilibrium temperature condition of peridotites in a range of 891 to 993℃.These results provide rheological constraint on the deformation of the SCLM in Jiaohe.Combined with the data for mantle xenoliths from adjacent regions,a heterogeneous evolution of the lithosphere deformation is inferred at the Jiaohe region.We propose that characteristics of the studied peridotite may be related to the Tan-Lu fault.

Line drawing is a means of superior visual communication which can effectively convey useful information to viewers.Artists usually draw what they see rather than what exists,which means the most attractive object is emphasized while the rest are inhibited.Moreover,artists draw the whole object with coherent lines instead of fractured lines,which also contribute to the outstanding visual effect.From these perspectives,generating line drawings with saliency and coherence remains a great challenge.Existing line drawing generation methods ignore these important properties and cannot generate coherent lines in some cases since they do not take into account how artists draw a picture.To this end,a novel saliency-aware line drawing method was proposed to better grasp the viewer’s attention on an image.First,a saliency enhanced line extraction method combining saliency map and edge tangent flow was proposed to ensure the saliency and coherence of lines,especially in salient but low contrast areas.Then,the salient information was highlighted while irrelevant details were eliminated by inhibiting lines in less salient areas to enhance the saliency of the line drawing.Finally,the transparency of lines was adjusted to further emphasize important information.Various results showed that our method can generate line drawings with better visual saliency and coherence than the state-of-the-art methods.

Ethylene carbonate(EC)is susceptible to the aggressive chemistry of nickel-rich cathodes,making it undesirable for high-voltage lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).The arbitrary elimination of EC leads to better oxidative tolerance but always incurs interfacial degradation and electrolyte decomposition.Herein,an EC-free electrolyte is deliberately developed based on gradient solvation by pairing solvation-protection agent(1,3,5-trifluorobenzene,F_(3)B)with propylene carbonate(PC)/methyl ethyl carbonate(EMC)formulation.F_(3)B keeps out of inner coordination shell but decomposes preferentially to construct robust interphase,inhibiting solvent decomposition and electrode corrosion.Thereby,the optimized electrolyte(1.1 M)with wide liquid range(-70–77℃)conveys decent interfacial compatibility and high-voltage stability(4.6 V for LiNi_(0.6)Mn_(0.2)Co_(0.2)O_(2),NCM622),qualifying reliable operation of practical NCM/graphite pouch cell(81.1%capacity retention over 600 cycles at 0.5 C).The solvation preservation and interface protection from F_(3)B blaze a new avenue for developing high-voltage electrolytes in next-generation LIBs.

Bayesian network is a popular approach to uncertainty knowledge representation and reasoning. Structure learning is the first step to learn a Bayesian network. Score-based methods are one of the most popular ways of learning the structure. In most cases, the score of Bayesian network is defined as adding the log-likelihood score and complexity score by using the penalty function. If the penalty function is set unreasonably, it may hurt the performance of structure search. Thus, Bayesian network structure learning is essentially a bi-objective optimization problem. However, the existing bi-objective structure learning algorithms can only be applied to small-scale networks. To this end, this paper proposes a bi-objective evolutionary Bayesian network structure learning algorithm via skeleton constraint (BBS) for the medium-scale networks. To boost the performance of searching, BBS introduces the random order prior (ROP) initial operator. ROP generates a skeleton to constrain the searching space, which is the key to expanding the scale of structure learning problems. Then, the acyclic structures are guaranteed by adding the orders of variables in the initial skeleton. After that, BBS designs the Pareto rank based crossover and skeleton guided mutation operators. The operators operate on the skeleton obtained in ROP to make the search more targeted. Finally, BBS provides a strategy to choose the final solution. The experimental results show that BBS can always find the structure which is closer to the ground truth compared with the single-objective structure learning methods. Furthermore, compared with the existing bi-objective structure learning methods, BBS is scalable and can be applied to medium-scale Bayesian network datasets. On the educational problem of discovering the influencing factors of students’ academic performance, BBS provides higher quality solutions and is featured with the flexibility of solution selection compared with the widely-used Bayesian network structure learning methods.

Tree peony(Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews)is a well-known ornamental plant with high economic value,but the short fluorescence is a key obstacle to its ornamental value and industry development.High temperature accelerates flower senescence and abscission,but the associated mechanisms are poorly understood.In this study,the tandem mass tag(TMT)proteome and label-free quantitative ubiquitome from tree peony cut flowers treated with 20℃for 0 h(RT0),20℃or 28℃for 60 h(RT60 or HT60)were examined based on morphological observation,respectively.Totally,6970 proteins and 1545 lysine ubiquitinated(Kub)sites in 844 proteins were identified.Hydrophilic residues(such as glutamate and aspartate)neighboring the Kub sites were in preference,and 36.01%of the Kub sites were located on the protein surface.The differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)and Kub-DEPs in HT60 vs RT60 were mainly enriched in ribosomal protein,protein biosynthesis,secondary metabolites biosynthesis,flavonoid metabolism,carbohydrate catabolism,and auxin biosynthesis and signaling revealed by GO and KEGG analysis,accompanying the increase of endogenous abscisic acid(ABA)accumulation and decrease of endogenous indoleacetic acid(IAA)level.Additionally,the expression patterns of six enzymes(SAMS,ACO,YUC,CHS,ANS and PFK)putatively with Kub modifications were analyzed by proteome and real-time quantitative RT-PCR.The cell-free degradation assays showed PsSAMS and PsACO proteins could be degraded via the 26 S proteasome system in tree peony flowers.Finally,a working model was proposed for the acceleration of flower senescence and abscission by high temperature.In summary,all results contributed to understanding the mechanism of flower senescence induced by high temperature and prolonging fluorescence in tree peony.

Reproduction is of great importance for the continuation of the species.In insects,the fat body is the major tissue for nutrient storage and involved in vitellogenesis,which is essential for female reproduction.Here,2 proteins,hexamerin and allergen,were separated from the fat bodies of adult female American cockroaches(Periplaneta americana)and identified as storage proteins,encoding for 733 amino acids with molecular weight of 87.88 kDa and 686 amino acids with molecular weight of 82.18 kDa,respectively.The encoding genes of these 2 storage proteins are mainly expressed in the fat body.RNA interference-mediated knockdown of Hexamerin and Allergen in the early stage of the first reproductive cycle in females suppressed vitellogenesis and ovarian maturation,indicating that these storage proteins are involved in controlling reproduction.Importantly,the expression of Hexamerin and Allergen was repressed by knockdown of the juvenile hormone(JH)receptor gene Met and the primary response gene Kr-h1,and was induced by methoprene,a JH analog,in both in vivo and in vitro experiments.Altogether,we have determined that hexamerin and allergen are identified as storage proteins and play an important role in promoting female reproduction in the American cockroach.The expression of their encoding genes is induced by JH signaling.Our data reveal a novel mechanism by which hexamerin and allergen are necessary for JH-stimulated female reproduction.

The integrity and bearing capacity of segment joints in shield tunnels are associated closely with the mechanical properties of the joints.This study focuses on the mechanical characteristics and mechanism of a bolted circumferential joint during the entire bearing process.Simplified analytical algorithms for four stress stages are established to describe the bearing behaviors of the joint under a compressive bending load.A height adjustment coefficient,α,for the outer concrete compression zone is introduced into a simplified analytical model.Factors affectingαare determined,and the degree of influence of these factors is investigated via orthogonal numerical simulations.The numerical results show thatαcan be specified as approximately 0.2 for most metro shield tunnels in China.Subsequently,a case study is performed to verify the rationality of the simplified theoretical analysis for the segment joint via numerical simulations and experiments.Using the proposed simplified analytical algorithms,a parametric investigation is conducted to discuss the factors affecting the ultimate compressive bending capacity of the joint.The method for optimizing the joint flexural stiffness is clarified.The results of this study can provide a theoretical basis for optimizing the design and prediciting the damage of bolted segment joints in shield tunnels.
