Inhibition of protein degradation increases the Bt protein concentration in Bt cotton

Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt)cotton production is challenged by two main problems,i.e.,the low concentration of Bt protein at the boll setting stage and the lowest insect resistance in bolls among all the cotton plant’s organs.Therefore,increasing the Bt protein concentration at the boll stage,especially in bolls,has become the main goal for increasing insect resistance in cotton.In this study,two protein degradation inhibitors(ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid(EDTA)and leupeptin)were sprayed on the bolls,subtending leaves,and whole cotton plants at the peak flowering stage of two Bt cultivars(medium maturation Sikang 1(SK1))and early maturation Zhongmian 425(ZM425)in 2019 and 2020.The Bt protein content and protein degradation metabolism were assessed.The results showed that the Bt protein concentrations were enhanced by 21.3 to 38.8%and 25.0 to 38.6%in the treated bolls of SK1 and ZM425 respectively,while they were decreased in the subtending leaves of these treated bolls.In the treated leaves,the Bt protein concentrations increased by 7.6 to 23.5%and 11.2 to 14.9%in SK1 and ZM425,respectively.The combined application of EDTA and leupeptin to the whole cotton plant increased the Bt protein concentrations in both bolls and subtending leaves.The Bt protein concentrations in bolls were higher,increasing by 22.5 to 31.0%and 19.6 to 32.5%for SK1 and ZM425,respectively.The organs treated with EDTA or/and leupeptin showed reduced free amino acid contents,protease and peptidase activities and significant enhancements in soluble protein contents.These results indicated that inhibiting protein degradation could improve the protein content,thus increasing the Bt protein concentrations in the bolls or/and leaves of cotton plants.Therefore,the increase in the Bt protein concentration without yield reduction suggested that these two protein degradation inhibitors may be applicable for improving insect resistance in cotton production.

Preparation of TiO_(2) Supported Mxene Catalyst for High Efficiency Hydrogen Production

We studied a method to prepare a novel titanium dioxide(TiO_(2))composite photocatalyst,starting from improving the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes.Regular TiO_(2)microspheres were prepared by sol-gel method and loaded onto Ti3C2Tx(Mxene).The high electrical conductivity of Mxene was utilized to transfer photogenerated electrons quickly and effectively prevent their recombination.By adjusting the addition amount of Mxene,the hydrogen production efficiency of the sample was greatly improved,and the maximum efficiency reached 135.2μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1),which was twice that of pure TiO_(2).The nanocomposites were characterized by XRD,PL,TEM and SEM analysis and electrochemical methods,and the test proved that the improvement of hydrogen production efficiency was caused by the improvement of the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes.This work demonstrates the application of Mxene as a catalyst to improve efficiency and broadens the application prospects of Mxene.

Wear behavior of the raw and pre-smashed carbon nanotubes reinforced 6061Al composites fabricated by powder metallurgy

The raw and pre-smashed(PS)carbon nanotube(CNT)reinforced 6061Al composites(CNT/6061Al)with different CNT contents were respectively fabricated by powder metallurgy technology.It was found that reducing the CNT cluster size by presmashing processing could sharply reduce the friction coefficient,and significantly improve the density,hardness,and wear resistance of the CNT/6061Al composites.For the raw-CNT/6061Al composites,the wear rate increased approximately linear trend while the CNT content was over 1 wt.%.The plastic deformation,deep grooves,and serious delamination were presented on the wear surface.The wear process was gradually transformed from Al-copper base counterpart wear into Al-Al wear for the higher adhesion-binding energy between aluminum and copper base counterpart.While for the PS-CNT/6061Al composites,the wear rate gradually decreased as the CNT content increased from 0 to 2 wt.%.This was mainly because the generation of the thinner mechanically mixed layer(MML)and the PS-CNT prevented the direct contact between specimen and copper base counterpart,which effectively inhibited the adhesive wear.But excessive PS-CNTaddition(~3 wt.%)would weaken the bonding between CNT and 6061Al,and thus the wear resistance of the composite was reduced apparently.

Neutron absorbing materials(NAMs)are necessary in the nuclear industry for the storage and transportation of spent fuel.Among all the NAMs,B_(4)C/Al composites are widely used because of the specific neutron absorption capacity[1–4].Compared with traditional low-strength functional NAMs such as B_(4)C/1100Al and B_(4)C/6061Al,NAMs with enough high-temperature(350℃)strength are competent for further structural usage and exhibit huge advantages in the dry storage of spent fuel because of heat transfer ability and weight reduction[5].

本文利用上海证券交易所强制要求相关行业上市公司按季度披露经营数据这一政策变化,构建双重差分(DID)模型对季度经营信息披露与审计收费的关系进行检验。研究发现,季度经营信息披露后,审计师对公司的审计收费显著降低。机制检验表明,审计收费下降的现象更可能出现在季度经营信息披露前审计投入和审计风险较高的公司中。截面研究进一步发现,季度经营信息中披露产销量指标的公司、能力较弱的事务所审计的公司及民营企业的审计收费下降更为显著。本文的研究结论说明,季度经营信息披露这一非财务信息监管创新对审计市场带来了积极的溢出影响,从外部监管视角为审计市场变革提供了重要启示。

Objective Information Theory Exemplified in Air Traffic Control System

Information is the core of Air traffic control system(ATCS). In this paper, objective information theory is extended to depict, model and measure the information exemplified in ATCS. The sextuple model is presented with information ontology, state occurrence time, state set, carrier, reflection time, and reflection set. The metric system is given to quantitively measure the information with extensity, detailedness, continuity,richness, containability, delay, pervasiveness, authenticity,and adaptability. The results show that the proposed method is potential to find out actual indexes in ATCS for flight safety.

Bilateral signal variance estimation for wavelet-domain image denoising

The estimation of the signal variance is a critical challenge in wavelet-domain minimum mean square error(MMSE) based image denoising.In contrast to the conventional approaches that treat the neighboring wavelet coefficients equally to estimate the signal variance at each coefficient position,here an adaptive approach is proposed that utilizes a bilateral statistical scheme adaptively adjusting the contributions of neighboring wavelet coefficients to provide an accurate estimation of the signal variance.Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed approach.

COLLISION AVOIDANCE DECISION-MAKING MODEL OF MULTI-AGENTS IN VIRTUAL DRIVING ENVIRONMENT WITH ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS

Collision avoidance decision-making models of multiple agents in virtual driving environment are studied. Based on the behavioral characteristics and hierarchical structure of the collision avoidance decision-making in real life driving, delphi approach and mathematical statistics method are introduced to construct pair-wise comparison judgment matrix of collision avoidance decision choices to each collision situation. Analytic hierarchy process （AHP） is adopted to establish the agents＇ collision avoidance decision-making model. To simulate drivers＇ characteristics, driver factors are added to categorize driving modes into impatient mode, normal mode, and the cautious mode. The results show that this model can simulate human＇s thinking process, and the agents in the virtual environment can deal with collision situations and make decisions to avoid collisions without intervention. The model can also reflect diversity and uncertainly of real life driving behaviors, and solves the multi-objective, multi-choice ranking priority problem in multi-vehicle collision scenarios. This collision avoidance model of multi-agents model is feasible and effective, and can provide richer and closer-to-life virtual scene for driving simulator, reflecting real-life traffic environment more truly, this model can also promote the practicality of driving simulator.

Force Feedback Coupling with Dynamics for Physical Simulation of Product Assembly and Operation Performance

Most existing force feedback methods are still difficult to meet the requirements of real-time force calculation in virtual assembly and operation with complex objects. In addition, there is often an assumption that the controlled objects are completely flee and the target object is only completely fixed or flee, thus, the dynamics of the kinematic chain where the controlled objects are located are neglected during the physical simulation of the product manipulation with force feedback interaction. This paper proposes a physical simulation method of product assembly and operation manipulation based on statistically learned contact force prediction model and the coupling of force feedback and dynamics. In the proposed method, based on hidden Markov model （HMM） and local weighting learning （LWL）, contact force prediction model is constructed, which can estimate the contact force in real time during interaction. Based on computational load balance model, the computing resources are dynamically assigned and the dynamics integral step is optimized. In addition, smoothing process is performed to the force feedback on the synchronization points. Consequently, we can solve the coupling and synchronization problems of high-frequency feedback force servo. low-frequency dynamics solver servo and scene rendering servo, and realize highly stable and accurate force feedback in the physical simulation of product assembly and operation manipulation. This research proposes a physical simulation method of product assembly and operation manipulation.
