Intravitreal injection practice patterns among Chinese ophthalmologists

AIM:To describe the practice patterns of intravitreal injections(IVIs)among ophthalmologists in ***:This was a cross-sectional online *** who had performed accumulated more than 100 injections were contacted by the Brightness Center,a hospital-based national network,to complete an anonymous,24-question,internet-based *** were surveyed on practices in injection techniques,pre-,and post-injections ***:A total of 333 ophthalmologists from 28 provinces/municipalities/autonomous regions responded to the survey(50.68%response rate).The 91.29%of the respondents evaluated systemic risk factors by medical history,electrocardiogram(ECG)and blood *** the respondents used pre-injection prophylactic *** checked intraocular pressure(IOP,99.1%)and blood pressure(96.1%)before injections.A majority of the respondents performed injections in the operating room(98.8%),wore masks(99.7%),gloves(99.4%)and sterile surgical clothing(96.1%),performed topical anesthetics(97.9%),and applied povidone-iodine(95.8%)*** 61.26%of the respondents dilated *** half of the respondents(51.05%)performed bilateral injections in the same *** temporal quadrant(40.54%)was the most frequent site of *** three quarters used 30-gauge *** respondents(97.9%)measured the site of injection from *** than half(53.45%)performed conjunctiva displacement prior to *** 32.43%of the respondents checked IOP post-injection and 87.99%physicians checked hand motion(HM)or counting fingers(CF)after injection,while 36.94%observed optic nerve *** participants used topical antibiotics *** physicians(91.89%)reviewed patients on the following ***:This study provides a description of the real-world practice patterns in IVIs in China and offers critical information regarding education and training of ophthalmologists and amendment of local society guideli

Deepsea mining has been proposed since the 1960s to alleviate the lack of resources on *** hydraulic transport of collected ores from the seabed to the sea surface is considered the most promising method for industrial *** the present study,an indoor model test of the vertical hydraulic transport of particles was conducted.A noncontact optical method has been proposed to measure the local characteristics of the particles inside a vertical pipe,including the local concentration and particle *** hydraulic gradient of ore transport was evaluated with various particle size distributions,particle densities,feeding concentrations and mixture flow *** transport,the local concentration is larger than the feeding concentration,whereas the particle velocity is less than the mixture *** qualitative effects of the local concentration and local fluid velocity on the particle velocity and slip velocity were *** local fluid velocity contributes significantly to particle velocity and slip velocity,whereas the effect of the local concentration is marginal.A higher feeding concentration and mixture flow velocity result in an increased hydraulic *** effect of the particle size gradation is slight,whereas the particle density plays a crucial role in the transport.

A novel strategy of tannery sludge disposal–converting into biochar and reusing for Cr(Ⅵ)removal from tannery wastewater

Inorganic phosphorus(Pi)deficiency significantly impacts plant growth,development,and photosynthetic *** study evaluated 206 rice accessions from a MiniCore population under both Pi-sufficient(Pi^(+))and Pi-starvation(Pi^(-))conditions in the field to assess photosynthetic phosphorus use efficiency(PPUE),defined as the ratio of A_(sat)^(Pi^(-))to A_(sat)^(Pi^(+)).A genome-wide association study and differential gene expression analyses identified an acid phosphatase gene(ACP2)that responds strongly to phosphate *** and knockout of ACP2 led to a 67%increase and 32%decrease in PPUE,respectively,compared with wild *** of an elite allele A,by substituting the v5 SNP G with A,resulted in an 18%increase in PPUE in gene-edited ACP2 rice *** phosphate-responsive gene PHR2 was found to transcriptionally activate ACP2 in parallel with PHR2 overexpression,resulting in an 11%increase in *** assays indicated that ACP2 primarily catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphoethanolamine and *** addition,serine levels increased significantly in the ACP2^(vBG)overexpression line,along with a concomitant decrease in the expression of all nine genes involved in the photorespiratory *** of serine enhanced PPUE and reduced photorespiration rates in ACP2 mutants under Pi-starvation *** deduce that ACP2 plays a crucial role in promoting photosynthesis adaptation to Pi starvation by regulating serine metabolism in rice.

Mimetic enzymes are devised as alternates or supplements of natural enzymes in broad fields but regulating their activities in a switchable manner remains ***,we proposed an enzymatic self-assembly/disassembly strategy to address this issue.A peptide molecule Nap FFEYIH(YH) was rationally designed which,after self-assembling into nanofibers,lined up the histidine moieties to form active hydrolysis centers for mimicking hydrolase *** dephosphorylation of Nap FFEYp IH(Yp H) by alkaline phosphatase to yield YH also turned “ON” the hydrolase *** turn,phosphorylation of YH by phosphokinase epidermal growth factor receptor to yield Yp H disassembled the nanofibers and thus turned the activity “OFF”.As such,the “ON”/“OFF” of the mimetic hydrolase activities could be regulated under physiological conditions through ALP/EGFR-mediated self-assembly/disassembly of histidine *** work provides a feasible strategy for the on-demand fabrication of artificial enzymes with controllable and superior activities.
